  2. i hear you Niz....also at the office.....rest of week off tho but have to study for exam next tuesday Bloody chartered accountants course....
  3. Paul, yeah we met, we've met before also. I grabbed my t-shirt off you. Was with Dan from Spoiler Shop, gave you a fifty, you called me a pain the ass....i actually had twenty in chump change but i didn't want to give you that! Dave
  4. Although I was glad to see your engine survive Paul, I reckon a "Most Impressive Engine Destruction" trophy would have looked a lot better!
  5. good effort on the weekend niz, my feet were sore after a day of walking around, can't imagine how you felt after standing all weekend! Nice to meet you by the way. Nevermind my mate in the s14, he don't know what he's missing! Dave
  6. g'day all
  7. Good showing everybody. Was nice to put a few more faces to names (or nicknames). Congrats Paul on not blowing up your engine and bettering your dyno with a 431HP. Sensational. Shirts are good too. Quite a few Skylines which is great, couple of lovely GTRs....mmm...
  8. Order placed: (will advise of final price) SeriesIIGTST - RB25 EX PSIKO - RB26 EX + IN PACEY - RB25 EX ECL27 - SR20 EX jmp - PM'd but no reply. Sorry dude too late now.
  9. For those interested and just to confirm PM's. There are two options: 1. Wait for Steve at SST to get his US gears @ $150 2. Trust gears are 12,000 Yen + Shipping (about $190 - $200) Gears are available for SR20DET as well as RB25DET,RB26DETT and RB20DET (I believe the Skylines all fit the same gear) PM me if you want in on a Trust gear(s) by Thursday 16/10/03.
  10. Cam, I guess the flipside of that is branding. People know Trust is good. When you sell your car and you say it's got Trust this and Apexi that, people know it's good stuff. I'm not saying that Uncle Sam's gears are any less good but at the end of the day, if people don't recognise the brand, they'd be tempted to choose the known brand over the unknown. That branding comes at a cost however and in car bits it's no different to clothing/shops/companies and practically everything else. On top of all that, there's the old adage which car modifiers everywhere can't escape: - Rice, rice baby! Personally, I like the blue gears as they match my Trust I/C boost piping! Cheers!
  11. Emre, Totally off topic but how does one acquire a maximum no claim bonus whilst on P's? I've been driving for years with no incident and just got to maximum no claim. I sure as hell was no where near it when on my P's!
  12. Steve-SST: Curious as to why you've chosen to stock US made gears rather than the proven Jap gears, especially considering it's a japanese engine. I would think convincing people away from the "brand name" japanese items would be harder than simply stocking them in the first place. Saying that, I think the Wolf 3D system you sell is a sign of changing times away from the once "only true choice" being the Power FC.
  13. Basically, (i am mean basic cause i'm not an electronic expert) most normal car speakers run at 4 Ohm, which is a loading which is the head unit (or amplifier) sees when driving the speakers (ie playing music). Normally, with a two channel amp, you would plug one speaker into one channel and a second into the other channel and that setup, the amp would be powering the speakers at XY Watts x 2 channels @ 4 Ohms. 2 Ohm loadings can occur in a variety of ways. You can conenct multiple drivers (speakers) to one channel - not necessarily two either or connect two or more voice coils to one channel. This changes the load placed on the amplifier. This makes the amp work harder and some older amplifiers can't handle the extra load. It's best to ask your audio place how you can best wire up the amplifier to make maximum power if you are unsure as incorrectly wiring up the amp may result in the amplifier seeing too much load and shorting out or melting something. I'm sure others can explain it better than me but as far as a basic explanation goes, I think that's right.
  14. I have a little 2x100 (the older one which is rated more like 2x84) and it beats the s**t out of my JL 12" sub. They are relatively cheap, amply powerful which makes them a good choice for the money conscious.
  15. 1st post edited to remove any unwanted "fame". Steve@SST: Interested. What type of gears will you be stocking? Thanks for the head's up!
  16. Hi all, Further to the successful WA "group" buy of cam gears from a Japanese supplier in the past, I thought I might test the waters to see if those people who missed out last time would like to create another one. I'm looking at purchasing an exhaust cam gear anyway so if I can save myself and other people a few dollars with a group buy, I may as well try and get one happening. I haven't spoken with the supplier yet but the Trust gears as advertised at 13,300 yen + shipping. I think from memory Adrian managed to get this down to 12,500 + shipping which worked out to be about $200 each landed. Long story short, if you are interested in a group buy, let me know! Cheers! Dave:D BTW: I'm posting this as WA only as it will work out better on the shipping (where the real savings lie in group buys)
  17. Paul, Put me down for both the side ones and a long chrome windscreen one. Cheers Dave
  18. Put me down for one. I'll take a large
  19. i've got iiNet and had no problems. was shaped for a while but other than that, good speed.
  20. 4 Doorz: Yep. Standard BOV
  21. i have a 3" straight through from the turbo, two decent mufflers and she's pretty quiet most of the time. most NA 4's are louder than it. However, bring the needle the fun side of 5 grand and you know all about noise. A lot depends on the degree of muffling your exhaust has as it slows down the gas flow which subdues the noise somewhat.
  22. I know when i last ran mine with EBC with stock turbo and intercooler it shot straight to 10psi at about 2600rpm and held flat tapering off maybe 0.5psi all the way til 7 grand. Now i got front mount....damn i love that thing. boost is super flat.
