  1. I may have spoken too soon...traces of further breakdown on boost are now apparent....*#%&*! coilpacks.... that's it, i'm getting splitfires....
  2. depends on your budget really main options are: replacement standard - new from nissan, 2nd hand highflow - do a search, see www.gcg.com.au new aftermarket - HKS, Apexi, Garrett etc Lots of people recommend the 450HP GCG option. I personally went for an HKS 25xx series turbo which bolts straight on (with minor oil and water line changes). Lots of info on all these options. really up to you what you want to do.
  3. I've only had one coil die, #2 on my SeriesII R33 and i've been making over 300rwhp for a while now...fingers crossed the others don't follow suit...i've already sussed out splitfires if they do though :uh-huh:
  4. thanks very much...appreciate all the replies so far. i've heard 9000SP's are good elsewhere from memory...might have to invest in a set.
  5. Hi Can anyone recommend tyres that actually have a bit of traction in the wet? I'm sick of trying to drive civilly in the wet and not having any form of traction in 1st, 2nd or 3rd even with the boost controller off and nursing the throttle. It's a joke. Please don't respond with "all tyres have grip if you lay off the loud pedal". Get stuffed, that's not the answer i'm looking for. Coming into summer it's not that important but my tyres are getting towards their wear indicators and probably won't see out the summer so recommendations on a good all round tyre but particularly one that exhibits wet weather abilities would be appreciated. Cheers!
  6. Bit of a highjack so sorry in advance but if you already have an EBC (i have a Blitz DualSBC), it is worth going the proper boost control kit with a PowerFC? (I have one of these babies due to arrive any day now). That is, should i sell my current EBC and get a proper solenoid for the PFC?
  7. Just tried greenline on the 'ol e-mail and had a response within an hour from Jason. I don't know why others of you have problems. I've had nothing but a positive experience. (plus my PFC + HC is on its way )
  8. I also own everything but the engine...well at least the cost of the engine rebuilt, plus new turbo = balance of original loan to purchase car!
  9. I'm 100% sure that if Jason hasn't replied, that he has good reason. From my prior dealings with him, he has always ensured that everything goes as smoothly as possible. I like many others, have a PowerFC waiting to come in from Japan and it would seem that both nengun and greenline both can't get hold of them. Just be patient, your money is in safe hands.
  10. Gazza49: Before you get flamed for your nOOb question. A PowerFC is a full stand-alone replacement ECU which plugs in where your normal Nissan ECU is which allows you to modify your fuel/ignition maps as well as a few other features, like rev limiter etc. Obviously if you replace the standard ECU which is supposedly running all these bits and pieces like A-LSD etc, you come up with problems if the new computer (ECU) can't handle it. You'll notice in my signature that i'm awaiting a PowerFC and this certainly doesn't mean i've got an FC holden on order
  11. you're not the only one tangO *looks at signature*
  12. thanks for the replies. I'll tell him to do a full stainless system. Xspeed eh? Hmm...that could work cause as chris said, nice 'n close to me
  13. slightly off topic but still on intercooler piping. who can make up custom cooler piping? ie which workshop? Not for my car, I got FMIC already but for my bro's GT4 Celica. Looking mild steel but stainless would also be considered. I heard Per4manz can do cool piping? anywhere else?
  14. short answer...yes longer answer...yes but you also need to splice in the Z32 plug into your loom as it has a different plug to the standard rb25 AFM.
  15. As with Carlo, my trust intercooler has "GREDDY" sorta embossed onto the top and bottom of the core. It certainly doesn't have TRUST painted onto the fins....
  16. Sounds interesting....R33 GTST here!
  17. Honest to god, this has got to stop. This could end up malicous with people dobbing you in out of jealousy, envy or just cause they are ar$ehol3s. I mean, "hi is this the police, i saw this young bloke/girl in an [insert import vehicle name], rego [insert rego] accelerate violently with some wheelspin. I was concerned for my safety and the safety of my 3year old kid who was playing on the road at the time. Please do something about it" and bingo! no more car for that person. It's one person's word against another. I can tolerate the hoon laws to an extent but this is just too far. :bs!:
  18. just my 2c but i like the old style also. It was easily to post, read and searching for stuff in the for sale section was a snap although I know Christian has been singing its praises for the new sections linking to the search function. I still go through the normal for sale section before browsing the classifieds. I personally don't like all the images that automatically come with the classified section. If there's something i'm interested in, i'm happy to click the link and then open a photo or request a photo be sent to me. If i'm not interested, i'm happy not to see a photo. Just my feedback. Thanks.
  19. let me know what you get power wise. I've got similar setup. I pulled 252rwkw with my 2535 and only S-AFC. Have PowerFC on the way so will be interested to see what ignition mapping does to help the cause.
  20. Fixed! It was my blend door. The little lever than actuates the door wasn't attached to the door itself leaving it on full heat the whole time. Simply put that back on and viola! All good Thanks everyone for their help.
  21. only ever been pulled up in freo for having my driving lights on. Other than that, was pulled up last month only to have the cop tell me my car was STOLEN! When i got out the car, turns out it was my best mate's cousin who pulled me over and was just givin me shit. hahaha
  22. boj01 - i've been quite busy and taking the bus to work. my baby has been sitting all week. i'm going to tackle this on the weekend. will let you know if i fix it.
