Hey all, I need to replace the front rotors on my 2.5L M35 and I've found some reasonably priced ones that are suitable for a 3.5L PNM35. Will they fit? Thanks guys,

Thanks guys, appreciate it. After having a sniff this morning it does smell like it's coming from the area you are describing so I guess I'll give it a go. There isn't any how to for this is there haha? Is it a job someone with limited mechanical experience could tackle?

Thanks for the advice. Had a look around the rear and it actually looks surprisingly dry and clean (unless I'm looking in the wrong spot). However the front and half way down the side is fairly covered in oil. Could this be the same problem? See image attached. Any thoughts would be really helpful, don't wanna be driving it if I'm causing more damage. It has always had a bit of an oil leak somewhere as the oil level drops by a litre or two by the time I get to the 5000-7000km oil change

Hi all, Over the past week I've noticed a burning smell coming from my car. Started off as just the smell but today after pulling into the driveway I saw a bit of smoke coming from the engine (couldn't see where from specifically). Smells like either burning oil or burning clutch. Any thoughts? The only thing that has changed recently is I've been driving around without the engine under tray on (didn't get around to putting it on after the last oil change about 2 weeks ago), could that cause a problem, or cause me to notice a problem? There is also some kind of leak coming from the drivers side front corner (near the coolant reservoir) that has been there for ages (can only tell cause the tray is dirty at that point). Not sure what it is but never seem to lose coolant so I'm guessing it's not that. Any thoughts anyone? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks,

They come up all the time on yahoo japan if you can afford to wait for shipping (mine did the same and I just suction cupped/duct taped it shut for a few weeks... cops didn't like it but haha). Fyi I ended up buying a passenger side motor V35 motor and just took a little cutting back of the excess plastic to get it to fit. Lost the Auto Up function but for the amount I saved it was worth it (was about 150 for regulator and motor). They do come up on Ebay from time to time as well. Hope that helps.

Nah they are definitely HIDs. Thanks heaps for the offer, I ordered some globes so I'm gonna see if that's the problem and it's just coincidental that they are both going so I guess we'll see. But one definitely started doing this before the other and they are progressively getting worse so maybe it is just the burners *fingers crossed* Thanks!

haha yeh tried that just doesn't get quite high enough imo. Might just be a preference thing or the whole unit is badly aligned. Or I was just recently in a late model RX-8 and got jealous of the perfect line those things throw across the horizon. Amazing!

Hi Guys, A few questions here regarding the headlights on the M35. 1. For a while now I've had problems with the headlights cutting out (many times every time I drive it). It used to be only the passenger side lamp and figured I could swap the ballasts over to see if that's the problem however now it's both so I guess that isn't an option any more. I am assuming it's the ballast anyway but any thoughts as to how I would tell given that both cut out (at separate intervals - not at the same time). 2. Any one know what ballasts we can use? Preferably cheap ones? Or official model numbers? 3. I personal find the lamps pretty dull (doesn't help that you can't adjust them any higher than about 2ft in front of the car), any suggestions for a brighter bulb? 4. My passenger side parker lamp is also out, does anyone know the model number or aftermarket options? Sorry about all the questions but any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks all,

Hi all, I know this has been posted a million times but I was just wondering if anyone has written a succinct how to guide for the brake cut off mod on the m35? Can only find 100 page discussions and no actual how to. Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry about the noob-ness.

I believe it's a very common problem. Mine went at 115kms or so on both sides. I think I paid about $500 for a second hand replacement.
