  1. $350? Can't you buy the 044 and a 2L surge brand new for $380? Either that or you could just forget about the surge and put in a Nismo pump that flows more than the 044 and bolts straight in for $400. Hope you get your money back mate.
  2. And on another topic...... Chinese copies are not bad. The Chinese have a better equiped market for production than any other country in the world. They can make anything to the same quality or better. The only thing is....they do it for a price. You want $100 turbo - they can do it You want $1500 turbo - they can do that also Guess which one is likely to last longest. And from what I heard....Col only bought a cheap manifold and did the correct thing by adding braces and having it coated.

I know, as a Garrett dealer myself, that it is not a documented or even noted problem with the 3071 or 3076. I'm not saying that you are not experiencing some problems with yours but it doesn't mean it's a common fault with all their range. The only reason there is an 'elite racing crew' is because I give people the right information, I don't lie, I don't rip people off, I give free time to people and ask for nothing, I drive to the other side of town to help someone in need, I stand by my product and back up my work. I don't ask people to come to me so don't blame me if you might get flamed for a comment as I don't request it. We are all adults here and everyone makes their own decisions. Have you checked pre-load on your actuator and/or tested the actuator to see when it is opening?

  7. Nonsense. All of the Garrett int. turbos use the same type of gate and same setup. The only problem would be if the installer didn't set up the pre-load properly.

  11. I know of a stack of shops that would do it down this way but no one up Sunny coast. I would do it for you but have no space atm. If you don't mind the drive, take it to Right Price Exhaust in Moss St, Slacks Creek. Just off the highway. Ring first of course. If no one will do it up there, I don't see you have many other options.

You aren't going to buy a car to make money from it but in 2-3 years time you can bet your arse you'll still get $7k for it if you keep it in good nick. $14k is a fair price for a virtually stock 33. I can get them in the country for 11-12. The market up here is of no importance to the market down south. And there is always going to be P platers wanting them in a few years.

  21. Have you removed the cylinder head yet? Chilton are engineers. They do the work on the head after it has been removed, they won't remove it for you.

  25. Thought I should also mention that injectors, ECU and balance rotors does not = 400kw. The standard S8 pump only flows enough for 400rwhp or 300rwkw at max. The turbos max out before this anyway. The factory intercooler cannot handle the airflow for 400kw and then you have the problem of Rotor A trying to leave the housing through Rotor B because you chose to NOT upgrade properly. Yes RX-7's are good.....but not that good.
