Not confused...that is the line I am referring to. I think in his original question he may have been referring to the oil return gallery on the drivers side front of the head where the NVCS oil feed is usually situated. The oil return on the passenger side can be run back to the turbo return...yes, but not necessary if you have extra oil returns on the back and restrictors in the feed galleries.

Coolant feed to the turbo comes from the inlet manifold and around the back for one and from the rear of the block about 1/4 way down for the other. No turbo feed comes from the passenger front of the cylinder head. Have a look on the cylinder head on the exhaust side towards the very front edge. There is a hole with two threaded holes either side of it at an angle. That hole needs to be sealed.

Yeah on the passenger side front of the cylinder head there is a two bolt flange which needs to be welded up due to there not being a pipe connection for return into the block.

Are you kidding?....wait 3 more months or so and I have a buyer for you. He's just getting the cash together. I can supply R33's for around 11k plus rego all day everyday but the trouble is no-one wants to pay for them anymore. It's no longer "cool" to own a skyline.

Splash of brake fluid and a decent open end spanner never let me down. Has the change of O2 sensor made your car feel any better in closed loop mode Warren? I noticed it struggled to climb revs slowly when just touching the throttle but when you just started to back off the revs would jump then fall. Usually an indication of O2 sensor malfunction.

But keep in mind that the NPC twin plate includes the flywheel as part of it. The other one, after attaching to the Nissan flywheel I think actually weighs slightly more.

That's easy...he was told it was a Nismo twin plate by the guy he bought it from in October. First Skyline, it's easy to fall victim to lies when it comes to these cars.

I think you should check that statement in bold. I know for a fact that Jim uses old covers and centres. He pivot modifies the covers to 3600lbs, which is possible but when you have that much clamping pressure on a single plate clutch...you WILL damage the crank. Skylines are renowned for crank damage due to excessive clamping force. I am not doubting that Jim has made some really nice clutches (Dirt Garage etc.) but when you are a regular joe off the street...do you really think you are getting the same clutch? The friction coeficient on his single 'Full Monty' would enable it to hold around 800-850 flywheel hp and around 750 ft/lbs of torque. This is using a 5 puk carbotic plate. Regardless of this, I know the centre he uses will not stand up to STREET driving punishment of this nature for very long. His 'Full Monty' full face clutch is possible that it would hold around 650 hp at the flywheel and 700 ft/lbs of torque but these figures dramatically decrease during heat soak. In a drag application this clutch would be ok as the clutch plate is not subject to as much heat if it's engaged properly. Then there is the problem of pedal travel and feel. The pedal feel can be made to be ok depending on the parts used but a full face clutch would have to be custom made without cushioning as the lift clearance of the diaphram would be insufficient otherwise. This would cause the clutch to engage similarly to a button style clutch and somewhat harsh to drive due to it's clamping pressure. Then there is strength as mentioned before. The centre he uses is just the standard centre or exedy centres whereas NPC use the much larger Nissan centre hub which will pretty much handle anything you can throw at it. I have seen the smaller hubs explode before on only two launches. There is also price to consider. Why would you go to Jim Berry and pay $1200 for his 'Full Monty' when I can supply you with the same clutch which has better quality parts used (Covers made for Nismo by daikin that are a true antiburst casting), a much stronger hub for around $650. Or the full face one for $550? Same clutch...only stronger and better quality. I put the question out there...why do customers constantly get ripped off by people like this? I mean seriously that clutch would retail for no more $750-$800 but he charges like 60% more. and as for experience, NPC have over 30 years in the clutch industry :END RANT

Correction...it is NOT a brass button clutch. It is a 6 puk carbotic plate with a Nismo cover. The cover will be pivot modified to 3000lbs.

It's a good thing I use NPC to rebuild my clutches. I don't believe in marking up someone elses work so Ian will be getting my cost on NPC rebuilt twin plate, and then just the labour to install. And if he decides to change to a single I'll smash anyones price on that too....dare me? lol just kidding...but seriously, do it!

Only reason you got the blame is because the stupid VT couldn't produce any smoke. Tell your mate to have the common decency to at least smoke it up next time and that way you won't get the blame.

The only downfall to this setup is obviously you don't get the inconnel housing that comes from Garrett but there is absolutely nothing wrong with RB25 housings. I wanted to do one for an RB20 housing also but MTQ informed me that there was not enough material to match the housing to the cartridge. There is also the option of buying a GT3071 for $1300 and then putting your turbine housing onto it. Rated at 500hp and slightly cheaper than the previous setup. The GT3071R is available without turbine housing (hence the price)

This combination has been done many times before and tested. The results are very good. The setup is done by MTQ engine systems so it's not like it hasn't been researched.

I can have your standard RB25 turbine housing grafted onto the GT3082R CHRA and Comp. Cost of GT3082R is $1680 then you would be looking at around $150-$200 for the grafting work. This will keep your internal gate setup so the dump will still bolt straight up but you will still need to modify the intake setup. Turbo will be rated at 550 hp so 300rwkw would be easy. Power would come on at 3200 as requested.

I can answer most of your questions so here goes. I only got back to work today but was supposed to be doing it on Tuesday for Arbess. The flywheel bolts had been shaved shorter for some reason and had burred the threads on the way in. This makes for difficulty when removing as the bolt then tears itself a new arsehole on the way out. Step one: Drill 14mm high tensile bolt Step two: Break 4 eazy outs. Yes that's right, They used both sets of my eazy outs while I was away and now have to spend $60 to replace them. The company who comes out to remove the bolt is called Threadtech. If anyone has actually used these guys before they will know that there is a $70 or $80 call out fee to start with. Then there's the cost of the recoil to repair the damaged thread, the cost to pay the guy for the time required to remove the broken bolt. Then there's the cost to replace the flywheel bolts with brand new genuine items. The clutch is a exedy heavy duty cushioned 5 button which retails for around $620-$650. Arbess paid $350. Then for the labour and all other work required.....(including repairing the exhaust which had broken studs at the centre flange) it cost $500 and something. Not sure of the exact final amount. So about $850-$900 total.
