Would be good if you could come Jason. So far my neerest competition will be John (R33Skyliner). Hoping I will also make it to the end. Both mine and John's that is lol. Yeah mate, still good for Monday. You coming back out to me? I'll shout lunch.

You clutch won't be ready for pick up until tuesday arvo so I can get it done on Wednesday for you. As long as you give it 50km or so of easy driving to bed it in...you won't have a drama. Like I said...it's like a super sports organic so you won't have any problems with it. If you drop it in first thing on Wednesday I should have it ready to go for you before 11. I also need a helmet but seeing as though I have such a doofus head, I am going to borrow one of a mate. Looks like next wednesday might be the go for everyone at this point so I guess we'll make it then. Tomorrow is probably too little notice for everyone and I don't wanna head out unless I have someone there I know that might be able to drive me home when the g/box explodes lol.

Not sure on the cost for spectators, I think it's about $15. Yes ben, hoping for 12's...if not a high 11 would also be acceptable.
-
Yes I have direct contact with exedy through work. I can get anything you want from them. I won't know a price until tomorrow morning though. I'm assuming you are talking about the NH03SD kit?

Ok options are either Friday the 14th of April....YES - This Friday...or Wednesday 19th Both days are fine for me but I want to go on the day that suits most other people. This will be the first time the Elite 32 has hit the track so I want to see how she goes. New tyres and a 33 gearbox waiting back at the workshop just in case so nothing cept a wayward piston will stop me. So what'll it be guys?...whose coming, and which day?

Reply sent...thanks Konrad As for the GTR...is it a pull type GTR clutch or push type? For the push type you are looking at about $320 in labour if you are supplying all the parts.

It is not dangerous to run injectors at 100%. Just gotta make sure the pump can handle the flow.
-
Ok from now on I'm doing all my work at your place. lol I bought an Omega quicklift jack that came with two stands for the wonderful price of $205 from Repco. Goodluck replicating that price though.

I believe the roundabout cowboys you are referring to actually have their own website. www.nissansilvia.com

I have the Oz Spec TEIN's in my car now...totally different car to drive. I can supply and fit the Fulcrum TEIN kit's for $1950 inc GST for the 32's so I can check the price for yours if you like.

That would be awesome mate. Yeah crank is completely knackered. When I do my engines I like to keep the crank and block matching as they are line bored to each other. So if your RB30 block and crank is still ok, I would gladly accept it. I'm sure Ben won't mind the $150 saving either. Also you are wlecome to come and have a look at it if you like. Only the sump is off and half the big end and mains (lower half). Waiting on confirmations from Ben before I crack into it. If I get the go ahead I will let you know what the outcome of the engine parts enquiry is.

Ok just a few things..... I did not consent to the arse shots!....and I wasn't scratching. It was very bad luck on Ben's part. I felt very bad for him because it had only been done a few weeks prior. I don't know that there was anything wrong with the bottom end to begin with but may have something to do with some spirited driving 600k's after the rebuild was done (very naughty), however a good engine should not have let go so easily. I am going to help Ben out as much as I possibly can with the rebuild as far as cost is concerned. Any help from others will be greatly appreciated so if you have anything which you may not need and you think it may help, just PM me or Ben to offer. Parts mainly.

You can't go to Sydney without visiting Bondi Beach. I know it's a piss poor excuse for a beach but you can at least say you went. Plus the view of twin peaks is quite nice also. Thanx again for the kind words Ryan.

It should take around 6-8 hours to do. The welsh plugs should be the same as RB30. I'll check tonight. The plugs only cost about $2-$3 each. There should be from memmory a 70mm, 2 x 50mm, 3 x 20 somthing, and 7 x 22mm ones. Don't forget that when they remove the exhaust manifold that they are likely to break at least one exhaust stud so I would get a full set. You can go to the nut and bolt shop on deshon street and ask for the ones to suit RB30 or VL commodore. You'll need an inlet manifold gasket unless you are going to seal it back up with silicon, and an exhaust manifold gasket too.

R32 Rb35de Head On A Det Block
The Dan replied to swappedturboegg's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just wondering if you have any proof of an RB20DET head flowing 480-500hp on stock cams and plenum. Cams max out at around 400hp which will only see you to about 320rwhp. -
Sorry, I just don't know what it's like to be beaten by modded STI's so normal WRX's just seem slow. I guess they are fairly quick in that last 2 grand of rev range lol. The comment wasn't really directed towards the WRX anyway, the point was.....why bother?....
-
After reading all of that crap, I have to ask....why would you bother racing a commodore, falcon, magna, wrx and so on...they are all bloody slow anyway and why would you want to waste 5 litres of fuel on some idiot who think's his magna can beat you.
-
550's will do what you need but they will be up around 90% duty I would think. The next step up from them are the 650's but I wouldn't go over that. I've gotta re-check my HKS injector prices and I'll let you know John. There is only 3 Sard's left from my supplier and it won't be for a while until they have more.

I believe if you read the topic title you will understand why he posted that message.

Geez I go off for a couple of weeks and already the children are not playing well together. The reason why a twin plate was decided on was because John expressed to me the need to have his clutch hold 300-350kw at the wheels and he didn't want a button single plate. A single plate organic will not handle 300rwkw so the choice is fairly clear. Twin plate clutches ALL use button style plates but the paddle style button configuration was chosen for lightweight instead of the heavier full plate. The buttons are also rivetted on instead of sprayed on and the cost to overhaul this particular one is about 1/3 of the cost of the exedy hyper twin. The Exedy hyper twin puts too much load on the crank plate, wears out the carrier and the pedal is three times heavier. This clutch has the same light feel as a stock SR20 clutch and will hold 1000hp at the wheels. It does not drive anywhere near as harsh as single button clutch. Yes it does grab hard but you can ride it so it drives a lot easier than the button singles. If you have never owned or installed a twin plate then please look but keep the uneducated comments to yourself. A lot of time went into the development of this clutch and it is by far the best one on the market. Anyone who owns a car with near 300rwkw will know that a single plate is a waste of time and will understand the choice. If you are one of these people then maybe you should ask John to take you for a drive and I'll guarantee you will be impressed with not only the drivability but also the pedal feel.

Can anyone help me out of a bind tonight on a rear main oil seal to suit RB25DET? Will travel if required, let me know ASAP please if anyone can help out.

Also try Fulcrum. They usually do them for $330 a pair

I am pretty sure all the stuff is already there. They are just blanked off with bolts instead of having the banjo fitting. The oil return is the large one on the exhaust side above the sump. Just get the right fitting and away you go. Then there should be a bolt to undo on the block just above that half way up. That's the oil feed. Just get some braided lines made up for the water and away you go.
