  1. The seal marks the tint on the inside.
  2. I would assume they would still have an equation to work it out. Math is the universal language. I would think that you would need around 5-6 thou clearance but it will depend on what the instructions tell you. Do you happen to have a camera you could take a photo of it with?
  3. The stock boost guage IS accurate. Your boost levels are fine, and for the record...the 34 guage reads in different measurement anyway. Don't compare your guage to your friends 34 guage. Just take a reading...go to google and type in 'convert mm/hg to PSI'. Then work out your boost level from there. You will see that the stock guage is ok.
  4. This is normal. But did you do the compression test with the engine warm and WOT.
  5. Just make sure the plug configuration is the same as in the diagram. If it is, then this diagram will suit yours.
  6. Hope this helps you.
  7. What kind of electrical scheme? Just a basic to where the sensors and controllers are or a full on wiring harness with wire colours and stuff?
  8. This is incorrect. The alternator can still put out a good voltage but the chemical reaction in the battery does not occur, therefore it does not charge. If he can jump start it and the car continues to run, that is usually a good sign that the alt is working fine as it is actually keeping the car running...not the battery.
  9. This one was being driven by a young Asian fellow with another asian fellow as passenger. Definately a GTR 100%
  10. I never said that. Go back and read my post. I was saying that he would, in general, achieve higher results with that type of setup. I wasn't saying that was the cause of his lack of power at the moment.
  11. I also agree it's fuel but what's stopping him from just injecting more of it? Back up the timing a degree or two and up the boost. 98 and 100 ron fuels haven't been around forever and people didn't seem to have any problems back then
  12. I'm not saying he won't get what he has set out to achieve with the setup he has. I am saying he will achieve more with the other setup and won't have exhaust restriction to worry about.
  13. The stock R33 turbo IS a 0.63 A/R The stock GTR turbo is a 0.42 A/R A gtr turbo on it's own cannot get 300, there is a pair of them don't forget. As with the compression, 14psi boost is not it's limit. You are right about fuel being his problem but these engines will take more than 14 psi. I have sent them over 18psi on stock internals with no ping whatsoever. It just needs to be tuned properly. The better option would have probably been to go for a true GT30R on a highmount with external gate. You will achieve massive results provided you can keep the fuel up to it. A water methanol injection system will help you out with your pinging problem as you are effectively increasing the octane rating of the fuel.
  14. I know, it was a joke. Don't be so serious lol.
  15. Well it's a shame that his ABS didn't save him. Anyone know any more details about the car, other than it had ABS?

    Alternator

Thank you. There was a last minute race this afternoon and I managed to get a new one that was on it's way up from Melbourne. Just had to come up with $450 lol. I appreciate your help though mate. We still gotta have that beer too!
  17. No probs. I went easy on him seeing as though I don't really know the guy. I have this other thing which involves a large bird, some cornflakes with honey, and a volvo. Been wanting to try it out for ages.
  18. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I shall bake you a cake! Then I'll blow out the candles and eat it in celebration of your time on this planet.
  19. The stock turbine A/R of the RB25DET is 0.63. The GTR's have the 0.42. I am almost 100% sure that the VG30DETT turbine A/R is 0.63 also but I will have to confirm tomorrow.

    Alternator

As the title states. I am in need of an alternator for an RB20DET and was wondering if anyone could help me out and lend a spare one if it is available. I am buying a new one but am unsure of when I can come up with the $430 needed to purchase it.
  21. Nah, Boganville is actually in Papua New Ginuea. On another note. There are no skid marks where the collision took place which means it probably took place on a bend where the driver in the Skyline could not see. Sure he may be a hoon, I'm sure we have all been guilty of that at some stage, but fact is, the guy in the Corolla was probably at fault. Broad daylight with plenty of visibility, no skid marks and only about 40-60km/hr damage. I'd say on this day he was not speeding.
  22. BOS34 - shouldn't it be POS34? As in PIECE OF SHIT 34. What a wanker. The exact reason why I take no pride in the exterior of my car. Coz then you nudge them.....they don't like that...then when you get out to exchange details - ohh what's that I can't hear you, swallow those teeth first and try saying it again. Then you hog tie him. Call a couple of mates round and steal his car. Leaving him on the side of the road with nothing on and a tree branch out his arse. I in no way condone such actions but hope that my violent thoughts have somehow humoured you. Or given you an idea.
  23. That's actually incorrect. It is the duty of the officer to explain each and every fine or defect to you when it is issued. QT will tell you the same.
  24. I don't wanna go out unless someone can lend me an alternator that's good for an RB20DET. Plus I don't think my stock GTST would do any good.
