  1. I have never heard of the injectors leaking as a common problem with the Skylines. The Oz R31 - yes, they have the rb30 injectors though. They may have had them confused. The RB30 injectors are well known to leak after a clean but the other RB engines do not have this as a problem as such - not saying it can't happen but it is rare. How much did the carbon clean cost you?

    Consult Log

Here is some data I logged with my Consult onto my laptop. I have then thrown some of it into a line graph. Very handy! B) cane2rpmdutytiming.bmp
  3. I think he said Proform, not Profrom. I think I have also heard of Perform Automotive.
  4. This thread deserves to stay at the top...........BUMP YEAH!!!
  5. I feel for ya. I really do. That has gotta hurt the back pocket a bit....unless you do the dodgy as suggested above.
  6. They already have a dedicated E10 pump at the BP's I use. So I guess they will be R33 STEALTH.
  7. If you use the search function you should find a thread I posted with the exact part number only about 4 months ago. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=78082&hl=
  8. Just a question that I don't think has been asked.....How the hell did you snap that piece off?
  9. Saw a hot purple 32 sedan this arvo with what appeared to be an even hotter girl driving. Southside towards Capalaba. Nice going! good to see the girls are coming out with some nice rides. Who are you BTW?, just wanna put a name to the face.
  10. I'm glad that shot was taken in the night time....my car looks shitty without the vaso-lenso
  11. I like that. I also have a similar device but it is a multi-control device all in one. I knew I should have paid extra for the passenger side only version. Mine controls: Eating habits, wardrobe, finances, most of my decision making. I even had to wait until 1:20am so I could type this message while its on recharge.
  12. The only time I mix ethanol in my fuel is every 3 months to remove moisture from the tank and system. I do it in the form of methylted spirits which is 95% Ethanol. 2 litres in the tank and idle improves considerably, throttle response improves also. The blending of ethanol will not harm your Skyline if you are running on standard tune in regards to the lean out effect. It will, however, have an effect on the fuel system as stated above. Being an alcohol, it will burn out seals on injectors, lines and regs. Only temporary use is recommended. You can purchase fuel components for use with alcohol as most drag cars and sprint cars solely run on it, but it is not cost effective. What is the octane rating of the new E10 fuel? Most of our cars are designed to run on an octane rating of around 100. The closer to this, the better. Unless you were absolutely strapped for cash and needed to put something in, I would try to avoid it.
  13. Since when was it a contradiction? IT HAS NO CHOKE The word "choke" refers to its method of "choking" air to the system thus creating a richer mixture helping with the warm up. EFI cars use a cold start setting which, effectively, achieves the same outcome but by DIFFERENT methods. It INCREASES timing - a choke does not do that. It INCREASES the feed of air into the system - a choke does the total opposite. So can you call an apple an orange? ....I didn't think so On a second note, have you actually offered a solution to the problem or are you just pissing in the wind like most others? I have offered a testing solution with values - if it tests ok then we will move on to the next likely problem, until then - go and read a book!
  14. 2.5 K ohms when COLD 0.3 K ohms after WARM Also test voltage to the sensor (plug terminals) 3v when COLD 1v when WARM If these test ok, let me know and I'll proceed with further diagnostics.
  15. These cars don't have a choke. It's an EFI engine. The coolant temp sensor richens fuel mixtures and advances timing and also increases the AAC value to increase idle. It will drive like it is totally doey and if you go past a certain throttle position it will just kick you in the arse and take off. Usually by about 2500. It doesn't always mean that it is a faulty sensor either. Do you have an aftermarket pump or regulator? Have you cleaned your AFM lately? It can cause some similar symptoms. To test the coolant temp sensor you need an ohmmeter to test resistance between the two pins. not sure of the exact value but I will find out.
  16. With all that aside....I would definately buy at least one, probably two.
  17. sounded nice. One of the guys said you were going to make it feel pain on the way out so we all listened. When's the 671 going on?
  18. It's not like you can really be good at it or not. Just take it somewhere who isn't the dearest and isn't the cheapest. Usually an auto-electrician can do it for you fairly cheaply.
  19. For god's sake, can people stop just posting crappy guesses all the time. Change your coolant temperature sensor or have it tested. It alters timing and fuel for the initial warm up. If you have a consult you can trick the computer into thinking it is already warm and the problem goes away.
  20. It is for Attessa. Top it up with Nissan fluid. I think it is called transmax Z
  21. I still didn't meet half of you. Was a good outing though. In case anyone wanted to know, I was the tall bloke with the green shirt. BTW Squizz, nice work on the on-ramp afterwards. I honestly thought you were going to turn it around. GOGO Attessa!
  22. In reply to needing a warrant this is the process: For a police officer to search ANY part of your vehicle or anyone in it, they must have you pulled over for a valid reason. It clearly states in the police powers book that if they have pulled you over for a VALID reason ie. breath test, then they also have the right to search your vehicle or anyone and anything in your vehicle. This does mean, however, that if they have just pulled you over for the hell of it and ask you to pop your bonnet, YOU MUST ASK THEM FOR WHAT REASON THEY HAVE PULLED YOU OVER. If they say to just pop your bonnet then they have no right. They must have pulled you over for another reason like a breath test. There is only one exception to this rule and that is if the police officer is an inspector (there's only like two in queensland). So next time you get pulled over and you haven't been doing anything stupid, make sure the first question you ask is "Why did you pull me over you c**t? I have a copy of the police powers booklet somewhere so I will attach it PolicePowResA00.pdf
  23. Sorry about the large size. I only realised once it had posted. Anyhow, there shouldn't be a resistance value test as the sensors are single wire only. I have provided the voltage test requirements but read them very carefully as both the 32 and 33 GTR's say that you should use an oscilloscope to test these because the resistance of one of these is larger then a circuit tester (mutimeter)

  25. Yeah, I get this shudder at 8500rpm, could be the same thing but I doubt it. Try replacing stuff until the problem fixes itself. Expensive but effective!
