yeah Terry, the diff is screaming, but the box is worse I think. takes a good second and a half to select any gear now. Crunches into 2nd, 3rd and now 4th. I am even running DEX III....still crunches. The diff is ok, it's just like a jet taking off, I just turn the stereo up. RB20 boxes are getting hard to find. so are the diffs
  2. you might want to think about the fact you have side feed injectors...not top feed.
  3. I can already hear the sirens.....
  4. caster rod bushes are the same. Don't know about the arms ie. length and thickness
  5. Plus we would have the added feature of a fantastic decoy if the cops decide to show up. I'll be in on a cruise
  6. I need a lift back from Willowbank when I destroy my box so you should come out. I can't be seen in anything that does slower than a 12 now. It's an image thing. BTW, nice car....I am kinda the same....the only thing that stops me from spending more money on mine is the lact of it. I pretty much did what I could afford the the engine internals but I would have liked to do some other crap. At the end of the day I will be happy if I do an 11 on an engine I built. I also admire your large wallet with the worn out edges.
  7. I just want attention
  8. no they are not the same.
  9. yeah, then you will need a balancer puller to get it off. There are three 6mm holes in the front of the balancer that can have long bolts screwed into for the puller (some pullers don't come with the 6mm bolts though so you may need to go to a bolt shop) Have you got the crank bolt out yet?
  10. It will be viscous LSD. The mechanical was non LSD I think
  11. 140rwkw is normal for those mods. Some cases have seen 155 with aftermarket pump and reg and boost at 11 so I would not be concerned. I noticed someone mentioned tyres slipping on dyno rollers.....bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
  12. 600-700 grams is correct. Around 50ml of DYE and 200ml of lubricant.
  13. A leakdown test WILL tell you whether it is rings or valves. You will hear the air passing out the exhaust or inlet if its a valve or out the rocker cover breather if it's a ring. Being a GTR engine it will have shimmable buckets so you will need FEELER GUAGES to check valve clearances. If you don't know how to do it then take it to a professional. Have you done any engine building before? The bearings won't need to be oversize if the crank was just polished. There would be no need to machine the crank unless there was damage to it from the previous bearings. What clearances did you measure on the big end's and mains? What piston to bore clearance did you have? Did you use new rings? Did you offset the ring gaps? Did you get the alloy dowels taken out of the crank and replaced with threaded studs? (you should have) What oil pressure does it have? (idle, cruise and full noise) I would not remove the engine until you have seen the condition of the shims and cams. Check these first before doing anything else.

Sounds good. I might get my brother to drive my old RX4 out as well and I can match them up. He owns it now so obviously he reckons it's faster than mine. Hopefully I can break into the 11's.....if not, slicks are going on
  15. Try giving Wally a call on 3390 3999. He should be able to tell you who can do it.

    Questions

There are more performance shops down south for them but still a good 10 around the brissy area.
  17. I am a mechanic - I also have the recommendation you are after - Sell your 300ZX. I have enough Nissan experience to know it's a pain in the ring. No amount of money could get me to work on one of those. Well I lie a bit....we work on them every day. Give us a call on 07-3245 6333. P&M Motors. Can probably hook you up with a decent 300 turbo as well. Cresta Import wreckers is part of us.

I will be installing the new injectors next week hopefully so I should be able to crack 400hp at the wheels. When that is done I am going for a geabox smashing session at Willowbank. That's right! My gearbox is almost completely rooted so come out and see if I can break it. More details closer to date.

    Police Defects

You can still filter an atmo BOV and have it passed by DOT I have. wrapping filter foam (clark rubber) around your atmo is serving exactly the same purpose as plumbing it back. And what RB25 is saying is right. I am only a smart arse once I know the arsehole is writing a ticket. I have probably more defects than all you guys. I just don't hang out in Hoon Town with a big sign on me saying "gimme a chance to be a smart arse".
  20. You sound like a cop setting bait.
  21. Just remove the Blitz BOV and it is legal. That is the standard BOV (air bypass control valve) that you have circled. You should just be able to mount the guage lower...closer to the dash. There is no law against POD filters. NO RULE WHATSOEVER.
  22. We have had "group buys" on everything else on these forums...why not get a copy of the ADR on a group buy but instead of everyone getting a copy - there is just one copy and it is posted for all to view. Or do you think it would violate copyright laws. I would definately contribute $5 to this cause as I'm sure many more of you would.
  23. There are no certified manufacturers in Australia that I know of. Only thing is, does the officer pulling you over know this? You never know your luck in the big city.
  24. They are having a BLITZ on us....I SAY WE HAVE A BLITZ ON THEM. Keep the people informed!
  25. I am currently trying to find a manufacturer of these bonnets who is compliant so I can get my friend out of his defect. Stay tuned for that one. As for the ADR numbers....I have edited the original post. There is none for the POD air filter as there is no rule for it...hehe. Dangerous Dave is correct with the BOVs too. As long as your crankcase emissions are going into a catch can. The can must be filtered or the crankcase gases must be filtered on the rocker cover. There is a catch with the catch can though (pardon the pun) and that is it must be of a 3L capacity to be legal. It must be able to hold around 3/4 of your total engine capacity. This means that the small catch cans aren't really legal but you would have to get a cop who REALLY knows his shit to get you on that one. Keep in mind people that you are within your rights to NOT ACCEPT a defect that has been issued on the grounds that it is incorrect. However, it must be incorrect to do so. You have to physically take it from the officer for it to be official. Also, if you think there is going to be an argument - MAKE SURE YOU REQUEST THAT THE CONVERSATION BE RECORDED - because if they don't know there stuff 100% then they will be more likely to let you go and if they do defect you for something that is incorrect, you will be on tape telling them it is incorrect and will help you out if you do end up in court.
