  1. Timing belt costs around $60-$70 genuine. I would not recommend using aftermarket belts for this...unless it's Greddy or something like that. Then add about $120-$140 for labour (2 hours discounted from $80 per hour to $60 per hour). The job in general would take closer to 2.5 hours assuming there are no other problems. So in general $200 would pi55 it in but I would consider doing cam seals at the same time. I don't want to touch the crank seal if it's not leaking as this takes an extra 3 hours to remove and I would go insane if I had to do another one. But yeah, $200 would easily do timing belt fitted with cam seals.
  2. I'm not too sure on the price of a trans kit for your car. In most cases it is better for you to buy it genuine with things like that. I don't think it is available aftermarket(eg. Repco) and we only buy it for about $10 less than you. Then if we buy it, we have to add markup...so in the end it is cheaper if you buy the trans service kit and we fit it. Retail on the flush we do is $249 but I can guarantee you won't pay anywhere near that amount. That includes a full flush and treatment with a 99% guaranteed removal of old fluid. It is pretty much the same way the dealer does it but we use a better treatment. It provides better protection of your seals, bands and solenoids than the genuine treatment. I'll ask the boss for a price tomorrow and let you all know. Trust me when I say this....you won't believe the result after it is done....it will drive like brand new again.
  3. Aside from being major, we try not to get into the modification side of things. It kinda brings too many hassles where warranty is provided. We give warranty on all our work and with stuff like that it is hard to do. But don't get me wrong, we are capable. I hope you can understand.
  4. Air flow meter is more commonly known as being the kind that have the flap inside and the needle that reads the flap's position. Air mass meter is more commonly the hot wire kind that measures air as a mass. You have an air mass meter. They can be referred to as either but technically that is the difference.
  5. If anyone would like their services done on the southside. Bring your car into Midas at Capalaba. Mention that you know me from the Skyline club (hehe) and you WILL be looked after both in service and price. We do a VERY thorough job including FULL inspections of engine bay (all items), FULL inspection of suspension and exhaust and FULL measure of brakes. We will not cut corners because you are a 'friend'. We can do any mechanical repairs but are not really into performing modifications and stuff like that. We can get our hands on most aftermarket suspension brands and will fit anything you want to supply to do with brakes, suspension or exhaust...providing it is legal of course. I should be able to give everyone discount on labour, parts and servicing. Maybe not all three at once but be sure that you will pay less than retail. Our phone number is 07 3245 5399 and the adress is 129-131 Redland bay road Capalaba. We are at the back of the Caltex servo on Redland bay road.
  6. They will be arriving at around 8 weeks time so I'll get them to keep one aside. OK, on a seperate note, the CATALOGUE has arrived. The rep dropped it out to me today. Now I can tell you all the combos available. They also have intercoolers (bar and plate) that they do. I don't know prices on these just yet but a rough estimate for a 16" x 10" x 4" with 400% effectiveness and 0.4 psi pressure drop should be about $500. I will have to confirm this ofcourse, if anyone shows interest. They are available in MANY MANY sizes, so just ask if you want to know.
  7. No worries for the trimmer. I am doing a HSV conversion across the street at night and I spoke to him for you last night. He did a friend of mines Torana. Mad job in white leather. How huge are his arms? I guess it's from pushing needles through leather all day lol. Sorry about the painter though. They are very booked up from what I have been told. But some people have told me they do a great job. I would never, ever spend anywhere near $13,000 on paint. You can get awesome paintjobs in Brisbane for under $5000 so all you have to do is look around.
  8. That's way too much. I'm about to pay $1500 for a good paint job. It is only in black though and it's through a friend. Airbrushing is usually $2000 on it's own and I know a guy who is probably the best in the country. I have to get some cards and send them out to people to drum up some business. I am still trying to find a good resprayer for you though. It is very hard to find someone who does an extremely good job and doesn't charge a lot. A few of my friends have suggested Very Fast Paint Shop. They seem to think he is pretty good but would need the car for around 2 weeks. Give them a try.
  9. Friggin big eyes by the look of ya. They're bigger than my teeth! lol
  10. DC Autotrim. Granite Street, Geebung. Does awesome leather work. 07 3265 7078 Highly Recommend.
  11. Just tell me you want one and I'll make it happen. Expect delivery within two months. Honeywell are giving everyone the stuff around and have run out of stock. I have a couple of other people waiting on some 35R's and a couple of 30R's also. There is a bit of a longer wait for the 40 and 42R's. I suspect, though, for the price I am offering you would probably be happy to wait. Did you need it right away?
  12. Gt40R $2150....Check prices in the first post. They are updated upon requests and that one was requested a month ago. They are still a couple of weeks away to get in.
  13. You stay away from my wee wee!!!!
  14. Well I was going to say something about the name....what exactly is a Culod when it's smoking? By the way....did you actually ring that number....coz if you did. I am going to wet myself. Sorry mate. I hope you understand...your typing is like sticking 3 alloy GT wings on the back of your mach1 escort. This site is kinda RICE FREE if you know what I mean. I think that's what people have taken advantage of. Most of us can be extremely helpful 99 % of the time, especially me. I'll get you the name of a good retrimmer and a good painter. Did you want airbrushing or just sik colours? Northside, southside, east, west or anywhere?
  15. I could do your rebuild but I don't like taking shortcuts. Everything gets done properly or not at all. Some people disagree but that's how I like to do things. If you don't have any luck finding someone, PM me and I'll sort out a quote for you.
  16. Happy Birthday man.. So sorry to hear about the car last week....or was it the week before. Anywayz, hope you have a great day.
  17. Gimme call. 0418 770 716. I'll help you fit it. Unless you wanna do it yourself. Usually you can do what he said......get yourself some 4mm rubber vacuum hose and push it over the end and zip tie. she's air tight alright. That's how 99 percent of them are set up. If you have any dramas just call.
  18. Gavin is very good.
  19. Welcome back. Gimme a PM if you need any favours or help re-adjusting to Australian conditions....like drinking REAL beer. Not that fake watered down crap.
  20. 1300 655 506 !!!!! Ring it. Get help.
  21. Just hook up the actuator line with no bleeder attached. You will have no problems running standard boost on this engine. The fuel reg will compensate for the rising pressure so it shouldn't be a problem. Just take it easy. Don't get all excited and put your boot into it first go. One or two detonations and say goodbye to your engine and pistons. Is the turbo going onto a non-turbo engine or onto an already turbo engine that he is upgrading? Wind all windows up and turn stereo off. When you accellerate you will clearly hear if the engine is pinging. Just baby it around until the tune is done. My advise is also wait until the SAFC is fitted before you get the tune done. Just check the usuals. Make sure the oil supply line is connected correctly. Make sure the oil supply line where it bolts into the block has a VERY small hole where the oil travels otherwise you will lose oil pressure. Make sure the water and oil lines are all tight. Run the car for a good fifteen minutes and keep a close eye on the lines to make sure you get no leaks. Also try running with the dump pipe detached for that fifteen minutes so that you can see what the shaft is doing at idle and while revving. It should all spin freely. Air intake is also critical. If it is going onto a non-turbo then the intake will be different. If it is going onto an already turbo car, make sure it is the right size to fit the turbo. DO NOT compromise when it comes to this. Small amounts of dirt and sand can have devastating effects on turbos. Make sure the air is filtered by any means possible. When you first start the car, try leaving the oil supply line loose so that you know for sure that oil is getting to the turbo. This is crutial! If no oil is getting to the turbo you need to find out why. It should be ok and it might make a bit of a mess but it is far better to know then to find out the hard way. Call me on 0419 770 716 if you have any dramas or need some verbal assistance.
  22. That was absolutely beautiful. Nice photography. I mean the GTR. The wedding looked good too.
  23. The only help I can give is this.... 1300 655 506 Try that, they can help.
  24. Ever heard of the search function?
  25. That turbo has a T3 Exhaust housing flange...I'm pretty sure your car has the T2. Can you confirm this?
