Garrett -5S Vs -10S Or Other (Tuned On E85)
The Dan replied to Daz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not really. They are surge ported to allow air to pass on to the exducer faster. It will allow more flow that way but we could back cut the comp cover to achieve a similar result I think. The GTX turbo bolts straight inside the turbine housing of a -5/7/9 so if you want your comp cover machined up to suit I can get it done for you no problem. They will be cheap for whoever wants to trial them that way. I'm talking around $1k a piece but that still hasn't been confirmed yet. STILL waiting for return phone calls on it. Hopefully I can chase it up a little more tomorrow -
I have assaulted many people and that definitely isn't assault. You have the permission of the legal guardian at the time and from the child so it is not a problem. You can't even be pursued on the grounds of coaching a minor as permission was granted by the legal guardian. Are you sure the ex isn't getting confused with the future assault by you on him?

Garrett -5S Vs -10S Or Other (Tuned On E85)
The Dan replied to Daz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
We can already have the stock GTR comp covers machined to fit the GTX2863R. The problem is they surge ported the GTX covers for a reason. We don't want to 'try it out' in case its a flop and we certainly don't want to spend someone elses money to see. To answer the question above. Yes the comparisn from -5 to GTX on Tomei manifolds would be enough also -

I was wondering how long it would take to get you in -
Why did they use J1349 correction? Isn't that a standard for cars in Detroit Michigan or something?

Nickel antisieze or moly/LMM grease would also be ok. We have had some that only stopped when the boot was lubed so don't be surprised if that's the cause. Don't ask me why though -
Garrett -5S Vs -10S Or Other (Tuned On E85)
The Dan replied to Daz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not really. All 3 have the same size comp covers. They are interested moreso in response difference between -5's and the GTX2863 to confirm the 'on-paper' results with real world results. The fitting of them to the car is probably going to be the most difficult thing. They run the disco comp cover which is larger than the -5/-7/-9 comp cover so we don't even know if they are going to fit in place. We would prefer to have them tested locally for fitment but power figures from anywhere (except WA) will be ok -

Someone is already interested in trying them but I could ask for a second pair maybe. Still waiting for info back to confirm the comp cover is going to fit against the standard manifold -

Masking. Get under the car and grease the throwout fork where it touches the pivot ball and where it touches the slave pushrod. Then grease the fork boot where it contacts the bellhousing and that should eliminate your problem -

Comparative dyno results vs -5's on exactly the same setup and roughly the same time of year for both dyno runs. Also a non-WA dyno result would be preferred -
R33 Daiken Clutch R5028Nhd Info/help?
The Dan replied to RB25 SKYLINE's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yes the pedal feel will be similar pressure but slightly less bitey than the cushion button. The NSK-6797 is exactly the same clutch but the centre hub has large single springs from memory. The NSD-098U clutch plate has smaller double springs in the hub. It could be the other way around though it's been a while since I cared enough to look. Both are equally as good and both will hold the same power. The double spring one is softer to drive on compared to the heavier single spring variety but it's really not noticeable -
Well going off the size, that turbo is just bigger than a Z and just smaller than a GT4094 so you would be expecting somewhere about 500hp on 20psi before 7000rpm. I would be going with a 260-270 deg advertised cam but pick something that has a 230-240 deg @ 50 as the faster ramp rate should give you better response. a 260 won't fall over til around 8000 I don't think so it should be bang on the mark for what you want.

I know you're not being a smart ass. That part number is not one used by anyone any more - although some catalogues still contain the old numbers for this reason I think. The clutch you have should be ok for 240-250rwkw safely for a few years. Pedal feel should be heavier than standard and definitely a lot heavier than your worn out standard clutch -
Cams need to match turbo/s, never just an engine combo. Unless it's N/A, then you match it to torque converter or vice versa but who gives a f**k about N/A

The Dan replied to RB25 SKYLINE's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You are referring to a part number that is something like 15 years old. NSK-7056HD is the current number. NSD-098U clutch plate was in the R5028NDH kits (over 10 years ago). These days you can save some money and buy the NSK-6797HD kit which will do the same thing -

That is incorrect. Daikin/Exedy have been the same company for 17 years -

Just when you think life has become easy by having all the information provided, someone pops a curve ball at you and you scratch your head The NSK-7056HD is the only Heavy duty part number Exedy list. There are sports organics and other heavy duty options but they are all 7056 except the Hyper metal range. Your part number is incorrect. Get the NSK-7056HD - it will serve you well at those power levels - as has been mentioned dozens and dozens of times on this site -
dude! wtf do you think you are doing? It clearly states on the medication not to take them on an empty stomach. Geez!

lol 1250hp on standard comp covers

You will need to know the installed height and coil bind height of both springs and then I will need to know the max lift of the camshaft to be able to work it out for you. I have tried finding the figures for the standard springs before with no luck but I am time poor so little effort was put in on my part before selecting something appropriate out of the supertech catalogue
