  1. GT3071R Turbine Wheel Exducer Size 51.78mm Turbine wheel Trim 84 GT3076R (700382-5012) Turbine Wheel Exducer Size 54.98mm Turbine wheel Trim 84 How are they the same?
  2. There was no indication of distance limitations. Pricing would be very appropriate but testing would need to be reported comparitively
  3. It means 2 things: 1. Street cred....and lots of it (bichez be rubbin all up on yo biz) 2. It's a catch can - aftermarket (most likley came with the car from Japan as ATTKD is a Japanese company)
  4. There are approx 6 different 3076's but all have the exact same turbine (not counting the EVO upgrades). I'd say you have been given the wrong housing - 3071 maybe? Measure the exducer hole difference between the two housings you have and post it here If it's close to 54mm or slightly under, it's probably the 3071 housing. If it's closer to 55mm then it should be correct and there might be something else that you're not seeing
  5. I've actually been asked for a test guinea pig for the GTX2863 in pair format on a GTR. Who wants to volunteer?
  6. That sucks. They aren't as fearce up here, instead, they make up their own variation to the 'law' I got a phone call a couple of months back because two guys were defected for running E85 (Caltex E-flex) and he wanted a mod plate done for it. I told him there was no code and it was impossible to write a blue plate for that so not sure what ended up happening. I told him I'd write a statement he could use in court but I guess he didn't need it or just paid the fine
  7. It's usually the centre bar that seizes. Even the cable operated ones jam up. If you set your ECU to close it when above 400rpm but below 6000rpm but have a boost overlay or throttle position over 75% or both it would be able to keep opening and closing and you'd never have to touch it. It would only ever open when you were foot on boards, that might help to prolong its life. But then you'd need a Wolf V550 or maybe a Link G4 to do that so maybe not that cost effective.
  8. f**k the neighbours, their dog keeps jumping my fence anyway
  9. A quick google search will explode answers all over the place http://www.sard.co.jp/after_eng/products/engine/injector/injector_hanyou.html If they are a two hole injector I would say 800cc Low impedance
  10. Wait......it's coming to me....yep, I'm certain they are flux capacitors now. I was definitely wrong before. Disregard the HID light thing they are NOT that 100%
  11. Exhaust throttle plates are stupid....seriously. Of all the ones I have fitted I don't think a single customer has ended up adjusting it away from fully open and when they have needed to, they have been seized from lack of use
  12. The box looks like a HID transformer for your headlights
  13. There's nothing wrong with 11.6-11.8 AFR, I was very specific about when though
  14. In your case, with a single 044 running the show, your tuner probably has no choice. I'm also referring to cars that actually do fast 1/4 mile times. They are the ones that matter What are your EGT's?
  15. And lambda 1 is always lambda 1 no matter what fuel you are using.
  16. AFR can vary between two engines. I am not a tuner - Sean at EFI Performance (07 3801 8075) does all our tuning and we always use a combination of AFR and EGT sensors. One engine can be 750-800 degrees at 0.95 lambda whereas another can be 750-800 degrees at 0.8 lambda. It all depends on engine efficiency etc. The rule we use for E85 injector sizing is 1200cc of fuel for every 100hp at the wheels The thing you are missing with Methanol is the rate of evaporation and even considering its calorific content per unit of mass, methanol has a higher content of oxygen so when it burns you get a leaner mixture Now before anyone jumps on me about injector sizing and 'oh but I made xyz hp on abc injector' etc....it is designed to be a safe level for injector sizing. With those calculations, you will NEVER have an injector size problem unless you increase the hp. Most of these engines need 10.5:1 AFR as they come up to peak torque but seldom do we ever see that when cars come from other tuners......and that's why the engines that Sean tunes for us live a very long and healthy life.
  17. Yes, the chinese copies of the chinese afm can be problematic. You should buy your chinese made genuine Bosch afm from an Australian supplier so at least you have some sort of recourse. There are a few traders on this forum who sell them I am fairly sure
  18. Nissan, Bosch, Jecs, blah.....all the same. All made by Bosch from some company in China
  19. zackery Also, the difference between 85% and 70% doesn't necessarily effect the octane rating as they can/do use other additives - not just 30% 91RON + 70% Ethanol If your initial tune is done on 85%, even if you put E70 in, it's only going to run slightly richer....and depending on your tuner, that can be a good thing
  20. I'm not sure the Haltech can do that. They can't do aftermarket trigger input from a hall effect sensor in their 'Pro' model or closed loop boost control over wheel speed so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to handle something like that? Can anyone confirm?
  21. Definitely twin plate territory. Most of the Japanese twinplates won't even hold that much power for long due to them using tiny clutch plates NPC sprung centre cushion twin is the way to go. Drives like a toyota hi-ace and will hold 1khp to the ground
  22. I was pretty sure it was the back section that was longer. Distance from the gearbox to the centre bearing I could understand (even though the gearbox is only 3mm different in length) But then again I see that many of the bloody things I could be off on the old memory department
  23. I use aerostart all the time. It's a reasonably good/fast diagnostic tool for an injector problem when you have pulse and spark but want to quickly find out if the injectors are locked without having to remove them. Come at me bro!
