  1. Cheers guys. I found one at capalaba wreckers with the bungs, there just pulling it apart for me now and inspecting it. $100 aint too bad. Im gonna send it away straight away to get crack tested, honed & crank balanced. I'd love to go out and buy everything i want now but unfortunatly i wasnt finacially ready for this incident lol
  2. i started reading it but 239 pages is alot to read. I gave up eventually haha. I'm hearing alot of people warning me not to buy the wrong engine but im still not sure of the guidelines. Apparently some of the rb30's even na engines are set up for the oil and cooler lines you need for the turbo and that there just plugged and some dont have anything at all so are no good for my purpose. I've also heard some people tell me you can just get the sump drilled and tapped for the oil return from the turbo and some people have told me you cant because of the baffles. Can anyone help me out with this and tell me what i need to look out for so i dont buy a dud.
  3. Hey all Got for sale a stock turbo off a series 1.5 1995 r33 skyline. Just after a quick sale $300 plus postage. I'm at south brissie. I'll take some pics and post em up soon.
  4. ok cool thanks r33 racer. I've had two engines offered to me at a good price so im happy about that. o0o0o cant wait for the fun to start haha
  5. Hey all Unfortunatly i blew a big hole in the side of my block of my 33 gts-t the other day. I havent pulled my engine apart yet but it looks like i broke a rod and it punched through. As unforutnate as it is, it gives me an opportunity to build an rb30/25 hybrid. Does anyone know anywhere in south brissie i can pick up a vl series 2 block or complete engine? Also does anyone know if the sensors on the block are different from rb30's to rb25's and if the rb25 wiring harness will still work? Cheers
  6. go to autotint at capalaba. he'll do it for a good price any shade you want
  7. it wont be because its not legal, and i dont know about taking your head off but they do splinter and brake instead of crumpling hence why there illegal. In saying that there so worth it
  8. Evo, all u need to know. The only car i'll buy next
  9. i got 235/40 18 nexcens on the rear. I think there a very average tyre. There good if your just doing normal driving but for a performance car i think there the budget choice. Thats why i got them cause i was a little short at the time.
  10. what exactly do you want to know about them?
  11. we seem to have alot of talk about these without anything actually happening
  12. i defintly want a set of nismo stripes. Is that $50 for both sides? Let me know when youv got the numbers and ill transfer the money
  13. looks like a good turnout. not a whole lot of anything happening tho.
  14. your pod filter should act as a water proof cover to stop water going into the turbo. In saying that if your pod filter gets wet it'll starve the engine of air
  15. Hey all Just wondering if anyone was going to the sprint day at Queensland raceway on the 9th. I'm keen to go to more events and build up my skill level but none of my friends have a car that they would take on the track and i dont think it would be much fun being there by myself. As much fun as it is to drive its pretty boring to spend all day there watching your mate drive around the track. Plus ontop of that it would be good to get to know some fellow enthusiasts and be able to bump into some familiar faces when i go out to track days and drift days.
  16. i dont know how effective that would actually be. In theory it would suck the air from under the bonnet outside not letting outside air in
  17. this topic sort of shifted abit. I think the point is the guy knew how fast the car was, hes been driving high performance cars for awhile now & he should of known better than to drive so crazy on a suburban public street. Theres nothing worse than having your car damaged by another bad driver.
  18. because they dont really need the sales and if someones stupid enough to buy it then there happy to take there money lol
  19. wholy crap, some people are just dead shits! Can u get any money from insurance?
  20. Wholy crap, what a crazy day. I'm so exhuasted lol Thanks to all the event organisers. I learnt so much more today than i thought i would. For example driving on the track in street tyres is a bad idea, understeering through fast corners and over steering through slow corners doesnt do much for my time. It was however alot of fun counter steering at 160k's! I admit i was the slowest in the arvo session but from what i could see i was by a long shot the youngest. I'll get there one day, once i join the evo population haha
  21. haha my front indicator is a vt side blinker fitted to the very bottom of my front bar. Its about as far off the ground as min ride height haha. Aw well its not like they cops would have trouble finding defects even if the indicators were legal.
  22. Wow i wasnt expecting that reply. If something caused me to loose my engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid or coolant i think im gonna need a lil more than just a handful of spanners and a few screwdrivers lol. I guess its not a bad idea tho incase a clamp comes loose and needs to be tightened. My car is only lightly modified but i think my air/fuel ratio is like 10.5:1 at high revs so yeah it drinks. Plus the new fuel pump needs more fuel in the tank than stock so i'll take plenty of fuel just incase. Thanks for all your help leading upto 2morrow guys. Cant wait to meet u all out there!!
  23. sooo close, yay! Will a full tank of fuel be enough for an arvo of driving as fast as you can or do people tend to bring jerry cans just incase?
  24. hmm strange my pants suddenly feel alot smaller...
