Hey all. Just chasing some advice from people in the know. Has anyone had any track experience with their skyline who went from their stock spoiler to a stealth wing/flush boot, or to a different style rear wing, eg gts style to gtr style, gt-wing etc. I just want to know if the nissan engineers put all their time and effort into aerodynamic studies and put a rear wing on the skylines because it works with the body shape and creates good downforce or if like many new cars today they just put it on purely for looks and marketing. Just so everyone knows yes i do enjoy track work and my car has always been built aroud practicality over looks. Cheers Daniel

Quick Hello From East Coast Customs
r_speedfreak_r replied to EastCoastCustoms's topic in Queensland
Hey quick question what relation does East Coast Customs have with West Coast Customs in America. Is it pure coincidence the names are so similar or was East Coast Customs named because it sounds like an already highly successful company? -
I haven't had any expereince with Wolf but ive been told they're not the best. I belive without a doubt Motec is by far the best and has great logging capabilites. I wish i had got one but atm i couldnt justify the money so i got a Haltech e11v2. I'm very happy with it still.

I noticed everyone seems to rave on about Federal tyres but they do nothing for me. They advertise as a competitive tyre but my dad had them on his Monaro, took it to the track and the tyres literally shredded around the corners. I dont mean wore really quickly either they literally had deep rips throughout. He took them back to Jaxx tyres where he bought them from, they got a federal representative to come out and replaced all his tyres for him less the cost of tyre percentage already worn

Toyo T1r Or Proxes 4. Who's Ran Both?
r_speedfreak_r replied to Cubes's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This may be outta place but has anyone got any comparisons between the toyo proxes ra1 and the r888 -
Haha that's awesome i don't know if it was your intention but you make it sound like you frown upon all the wannabe drifters. If you are building your car for drifting tho i wouldnt reccomend a t04z even with the smallest housing. Unless you plan on pumping the shit out of your clutch drifting needs response and mid range torque to get the wheels spinning. Once there spinning it takes bugger all power at high rpm to keep them spinning.
-
t04z is bigger again & a great turbo. I got a gt3540 and once it was too expensive to go back i reslied i really should of got a t04z. My turbo is the biggest draw back in my whole system. Only thing is tho on a built 2.5l engine it will be laggy. I guess it just depends on what your application is.

Are My Dyno Tuning Results Good?...
r_speedfreak_r replied to nsta's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey i dont mean to change the topic too much but does the apexi avc-r have the same feature to stop the boost dropping off at high rpm? I know the e-boost 2 has a RPM Compensation Feature but i wasnt sure if it's common amongst other electronic boost controllers. -

Anyone Know Of People That Highflow Injectors?
r_speedfreak_r replied to blitza's topic in Queensland
Not sure on costs but Mobile Injector Service can do highflowing. I reccomend spending the money and buying bigger injectors tho. -
fully built 25/30. Getting its final tune done on Monday. Expecting 500rwhp since i got over 400 in a run in tune but i dont think the time will be that good. Its not setup for drag racing but it'll still be fun anyway. Im at Mount Cotton

theres a good chance ill be able to go. it'll be my first run on the new engine. Is anyone from the southside meeting up to go down? Otherwise there's no difference between going down on yr date or any other test n tune
-
I didnt even know you competed in qr sprints. Are all the lap times recorded and compared?
-
I havent done a total calculation but i'm pretty sure my engine package has cost me around 25k easy

Superlap Timeattack Is Ago!
r_speedfreak_r replied to giant's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
damn i built my car specifically for these kinds of events but i got a 30/25. I think this has actually worked against me. My car is 100% a daily driven street legal car but the engine puts me into the open class which is full of hardcore track vehicles. The fact i need to use my car as a daily driver and its completely financed by one 22 year old means i'll be completely out of place competing in the same category. -
If no one knows why the ecu is load limiting my engine, does anyone know how to contact haltech engineers to ask them the question?
-
ow i forgot to mention congrats to the jet racing ute with their first 7 sec pass. I was figgiting with their snapped drive belt all day haha
-
I could be wrong but im pretty sure they're calling it the w60. W standing for walkinshore sells for 150k and in limited production
-
my question is why is the ecu stopping the car from reving any higher unless the wheels are spinning and how can i fix it?
-
Hey guys. I made a topic out of this but havent yet got a a reply and thought this might be a better place to ask the question. I hope thats ok Recently i got my fully built rb25/30 up and running after a year long build. The only untouched component in my engine bay is the fuel rail everything else is either aftermarket or had work done to it. I'm using a haltech e11v2 ecu & atm the car is load limited. Basically what happens is at 6,500rpm the engine will stop reving any faster unless the wheels are spinning in which case the load is taken off the engine and it will rev out. Its not a harsh limiter it just will stop revving any faster and the exhaust sounds like it flutters very fast. The ecu has an inbuilt rev and boost limiter but they are both set above wastegate pressure & the current rev limit. I didnt relise until recently but i found out a few of my mates using different model haltechs have had numerous issues. I now know i should of cashed out the extra money and gone a motec but whats done is done. Rob at 101 is a really smart guy and he told me he'd be able to work it out eventually but the longer he spends working it out on the dyno they more my bill will be. I was hoping someone else might of come across this before and already worked out the answer.

nyc photos. was a great day out, far better than last year. i reckon there would of been about 200 people there tho haha.
-
hey maddo. Are you getting the head port n polished? I personally think its well worth it
