Hey Alan, As you are probably aware the series 2 models were the only ones available with the option of manual unless you count the 260rs so they will be slightly more expensive. Also due to the rarity of the manual transmission you will probably find a price difference on the higher side for the stick shift. However in saying that if you are buying direct from auction you may actually pick one up for less than what the s2 autos sell for over here with a dealer. There are a few things that you get on the series 2 that you dont get on the series one thast make the series 2 appealing but it really depends on what you are willing to spend. The series 2 comes with xenon lights (dont know if they are replaces with HID for compliance or not). There seems to be some more safety features as well I think side cutain airbags were an option on the s2. The tiptronic auto which if you do decide to go for an auto makes for more fun the other main difference if you want to tune the car is the NEO 6 engine with more power and also the added benefit of the ecu plug being the same as the r34 for easy pulg in tuning. There was a group buy going a little while back for ecu rom chips for r34 autos and this was also sutiable for the s2 stagea. I notice that you are in perth as well so its also woth noting that there is only one complaince plate holder in perth and it would probably be worth dropping him a line to find out if he compliances individual cars before you start hunting because if he doesnt then you need to go through one of the queensland plate holders which means more money on vehicle transport etc etc. Hope this helps Glenn

yeah i have found some good articles on the qr series of engines from what the articles state they will eventually replace the ka24 series engine as used in the 240sx (american model) and models using the sr20 will use the qr20de due to better emissions levels be ineteresting to watch the developments of this engine

Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone knows the engine model code for the Aus spec nissan X-Trail. Buying one for the wife and looking to see what bits are available for the thing and have no idea what the 2.5l engine model code is. Pity its not the sweet SR20VET Neo that is fitted to the JDM models with 206kw :wassup: Any help would be appreciated Glenn

there needs to be some sort of testing program for the elderly i reckon from 65 on you should be retested every 3 years to make sure you are still capable of driving a car that would reduce the number of older maniacs on the roads too. Did anyone in perth hear about the P Plater who lost his licence 15 minutes into the double demerits period doing 140 thru the northbridge tunnel. The cop that pulled him over asked him why he was speeding and the idiot replied that he just wanted to hear his exhaust in the tunnel. The cop told him he would have plenty of time to admire his exaust over the summer while his cars parked in his garage (i know the officer involved pretty funny really). He wasnt driving a skyline but he was still driving like a total fool and this really needs to stop. The Governments need to get some independant advice from people who have knowlege in the area if traffic safety on some practical solutions for how to stop this problem.

Yeah they are available in manuals but there were only a small percentage produced with the manual box. If you want a manual you need to spend a little more and go for a series 2 model as the manual box was only in this model. That is of course unless you want to spend a lot more and go for a 260rs Hope this helps Glenn

Let Me Translate this for you This mah shop brah. Its in brissy mate and its fully sik man! I dont really have a skyline I own a car with some stickers on it that are same as my nickname? Its still sick tho! Lancers rock! They couldnt help as the couldnt identify the car as there were too many stickers on it. Add to the fact that the cars so shitty brah that they dont wanna work on it. They wanted to charge me at least 1000 dollars to derice my car brah. But I said nah I might loose like 500 front wheel horsepower I sent myself a PM from my other account on here and told myself how sik my shop is brah! It only takes me 20 minutes to put on more stickers so that I gain another 50 front wheel horsepower but I will bend you over and charge you for 2 hours brawh. We have heaps of ricey shit down here to ruin you rise wit brawh. I really love myself and cant spell and apparently I have never seen how good the shop is We dont do real cars like skylines I was just imagining that. But the intercooler in my NA lancer is just like mirror its ful sik. Its looks good now but id hate to see it when it gets hot and the cheap spray on chrome comes off tho but who cars they already paid hahahahah.
