its a parts bins special i hope that nissan realise the importance of this model and dont just reuse parts from other vehicles. I know that keep down costs a level of part sharing is required but if nissan is serious about giving the gtr a seperate identity to the skyline then just adding some tupperware to a v35 bodyshell is not the way to go about it IMHO. I suppose it all boils down to what normally happens in business though. The guys in the marketing and design sections know what the customer wants and expects but the guys in accounting and the executive sections think that they know better so we end up getting a half assed car because the pencil pushers didnt like the real enthusiasts car. I just hope that the GTR lives up to the name.

hey guys i think that the series one ecu is different to the series 2 ecu but the series 2 ecu is the same as the r34. well this is what this chart says anyway have a look and see what i mean :thankyou: http://www.geocities.com/mcnamg/ecu.pdf

yeah my missus was more concerned about luggage space she doesnt mind the fact that it an awd straight six with a turbo either though :headbang: either way she can have her car and the stagea is definately mine

Hey Stagea Fans Well I am trying to put some more things together and I am looking for some help. Ok well my first question is regarding the stagea ECU it has been established that the plug is the same as the one on the ER34 GTT however the pins dont do the same things apparently soooo can anyone who has a stagea workshop manual possibly scan a copy of the page listing the pinouts and the plug up for us to have a look at? dont worry if it is in japanese as we can solve that pretty easily. would be great if you can as there are a number of people after this info and I know a few people have a few ideas which could make tuning the beast a breeze. Second thing is regarding the ecu also but is related to series one and series 2 models. Is the ecu for the series one the same as the series2? if not what are the differences? Third question related to the second is regarding the transmission. As I am a lazy bastard if I ever got around to changing the transmission I would probably still keep the auto as its going to be my daily driver but would love a tip tronic tranny. but if it means i need a new ecu and whatnot its not really worth the effort can anyone comfirm the ecu is the same from s1 to s2 and if you can swap the trans easily? if anyone else has any other general questions about the beasts post them up and hopefully someone can give us the answers we need Glenn

mate if your willing to pay more for a modified one then why dont you get a cheap stock gtst turbo model which will chop a non turbo any day if you buy a non turbo you will wish you had the turbo simple as that bear in mind your car must returned to stock if you plan to bring one in from japan and complaince it. if you wanna keep the parts then thats between you and your compliance agent if they agree

yeah i can understand the lower k's i guess as not everyone drives thir car the same way. I know my parents have a second car that they hardly use its a 95 model car and its only done 60 thousand k's. what i dont get is when someone says that a car is in pristine condition yet has less k's than another car that is in the same condition why would they sell it cheaper? Is this some new marketing technique or are the dealers not telling ppl about other problems with the car that you cant see like mechanical issues?
-
was looking on auto trader today and had to laugh at the number of stageas listed with bull s**t k's on them as if a 97 model cars only done 26 or 36 or thousand in 7 years they are family cars and as such are used often it doesnt matter if they dont drive them as much as in oz where on average most people with a single car will average about 20 thousand k's or more in japan i think its 10 to 15 thousand which means most should have at least 70 thousand on the clock. what is most sussed is the same dealer selling a car which they say is in mint condition with only 46 thousand genuine k's on it for 500 dollars less than a car with 70 thousand genuine k's on it go figure. when is a bargain not a bargain. at least if you buy a high k's car its probably legit ooops im ranting
-
what 19's are you putting on your stagea? what 2 suspension setups do you have to choose from
-
hey driftt my wife thought she saw your stagea parked in the car park at gateways shopping centre this morning. no fair how come I dont get to see any stageas also does anyone in wa know anyone with a black stagea one of the guys at work spotted one in the northern suburbs yesterday. cheers glenn :ufo:
-
people concentrate on keeping the same speed so much they forget to do other things like check mirrors and blindspots.
-
 its a bit sussed that they can sell a copy for more than the original hmm
-
for a 97 model to have only done 24000 k's sounds mighty suspicious if it sounds too good to be it probably is sounds like the number of beasts out there is growing
-

mcnamg replied to RB26VL's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
