  5. i will write those down and stick them to my monitor so that i dont forget them are there any other mods that a stagea owner should conisder doing to imrove handling and general performance such as the brakes. do they need to be upgraded or are they quite good

  7. out of interest what does something like that cost?
  8. hey prank you need to get some www.stageaSAUstralia.com stickers made up so you can put them all over your car tee hee hee and buy the domain www.stageasaustralia.com
  9. thanks for the response howvere a few developments in the last few days have led me and the missus to believe that a skyline sedan which is what we were looking for will not have the required space therefore we have since been out and had a look at some stageas and have decided that we will be going the less trodden route of the stagea. but regardless the info on that site is gold hope it is helpful for anyone else interested in an r34 maybe in the furute when our needs change i can get the r34 gtr i have always wanted
  10. aww crap i have been telling my wife that they are really good on the furl so they wont cost us much at all oh well i wont tell her till we get it then she cant make me sell hopefully hey prank congratulations. did you just get the stagea because you didnt want to put a bike rack on the GTR? nah seriously good to see so many people going the sleeper wagon way need to see some more pics!!
  11. Thanks heaps for all the information would be very interested to see what your cars power figures are like when you dyno it when you post it up post the dyno sheet if u got it can you also tell us what zorst u are using as well just to give us an idea of whats power it is capable of adding to the car you seem to be an absolute hive for information. I suppose its good that someone knows this information because if not we would still be trying to translate one of a million japanese car sites to english to figure it out
  12. what sort of fuel consumption are you guys getting out of your beasts? and whats the tank hold?
  13. so basically worst case your going to allow for about 80-90 kw loss on a stagea? just trying to figure out what i will need to spend to get to my power figure i would like finally convinced the missus to get an import and the stagea looks like the most logical car for us plus having the awd and turbo is a huge bonus thanks for the quick replys guys
  14. yeah that makes sense so basically like when your talking about a rwd drive car and you can make an estimate of rwkw by working out an aprroximate powerloss percentage thru the drive train the same applies in the awd but there is more areas for power loss btw whats the stock kw at the engine for a 34 model stagea series one and whats the awkw stock as well if you know
  15. just a question for the ill informed what is the difference between awkw and rwkw? obviously the rwkw calculation is at the two rear wheels but awkw if at all 4 wheels so is the calcualtion different. I must admit i am very interested to find out about this. is anyone can fill me in i would muchly appreciate it
  16. whats a mini gtr?? this v8 that they refer to is this a current engine from the nissan stable or a newly developed engine for the infiniti gtr? i notice that in this article they talk more about the v6 and only brifely mention the v8 wonder why??
  17. so does this article bear any truth at all rezz or is speed yet again blowing smoke up our a55es again? this is the first i have read anywhere about the r36 model naming of the gtr is it true?
  18. for the moment the non turbo appeals to me for may reasons 1. Reasonably Priced For a 4 door and most certainly better than any of the equivalent aussie stuff out there (speaking from experience have owned au falcon, ef fairmont, and had vx acclaim from work all of which are less than appealing to drive) 2. Insurance Premium is cheaper 3. Not looking for power rather a car that is enjoyable to drive 4. wouldnt mind an awd model if there is an awd in the na range 5. etc...
  19. I have done a bit of looking around on the site here using the search button and I cant really find a lot of information on the different N/A Models of Skyline available. Can someone please give me a run down of the models that were available what they have in the way of transmission awd or rwd and what the spec differences between the different n/a models are particularly interested in knowing what the difference is between the gt and gtv if any thanks in advance for any help
  20. WTF IS THAT? the japanese do some crazy sh!t to their cars
  21. could you not adapt them by say taking a piece out of the centre then joining them back together again as a shorter length or would the fibreglassing job be too obvious and would you lose too much strength in the cut and shut process?? just a suggestion dont know if its stupid or not
  22. man thats a nice brochure did that come with your car? or did you buy it off ebay or somewhere else? that woud have to cost some $$$ got any better pics or can you scan it up fro us mere mortals?
  23. sounds like some pcyc volunteer who thinks hes a cop prolly just a concerned citizen a cop would have had the cuffs out right away and he would have called for backup not leaving the driver to do it and a real cop would have noted the other cars plates if he was doing half his job properly was there anyone else in the offenders car? and where did the "cop" come from? was he just walking his dog or did he stop in his car?
  24. do you think it may have been an attempt to steal your car? or do you think that he was just a violent guy who doesnt like it when someone isnt intimidated by his driving?
  25. i didnt start this thread as post to bash holdens or their lack of engineering prowess but I guess that this is how it has turned out. I dont dislike holdens I really dislike the attitude of some (and i underline the word some as in not all) holden drivers who i know who think that the holden commodoore is the be all and end all of motoring power. They think that their car will chop anything on the road and because everyone has one it must be good. I know that this attitude of my car is the beat and so forth is not only held by holden drivers but many others in other brands but it seems to be voiced a lot louder by many in the generals stable. as can be seen from the very first post i made i was merely point out the lack of knowledge of a particular driver who thought he represented about half of the holden drivers on the road and voiced a very stupid opinion. this is not my opinion i think that the new engine is great for holden and great for australia as it shows that australia wants to become a world class car manufacturing country. I just think that holden uses very suggestive and somewhat misleading advertising to wntice those who know just enough about cars to be dangerous to buy their vehicles. My Sidters BF for example is a holden nut he loves holden and his car is shrine to everything hrt. he almost cried when i told him the new holden v6 was going to be a 3.6 litre he was like but that would make it really slow wouldnt it? I then told him about the fact that it has more torque and more power than the 5.0l v8 in his vt berlina. he kept asking me how they could do it was it supercharged or turbod or something? What this really shows is that a lot of these so called enthusiasts who think they know lots about cars are very narrow minded and really dont do any sort of research into the products that they love so much. Personally having been in both ford and holden v8 offerings (BA and VY) i prefer the ford not for its outright power as the holden wins there most of the time but for the smoothness of the engine the ride and handling and also the much better plastics and overall finish of the vehicle. I personally love V8's as well as turbocharged cars I just think that holden needs to really get their ass into gear and use some of their record profits that they are making and put them into bulding a world class car with good quality plastics good handling and not just strap an all new engine into an ageing platform. The GM group is huge i am sure holden could find lots of input from other groups to improve. when i refer to commodoores having ten different models all of the same car i mean for example for example the holden adventra we all know that this a holden commodoore station wagon on steroids and with awd so why not call it such same again with the 4 doors utes they are commodoores why try to call them something different if they are not all new different models then they should still have the same name. the stagea looks totally different to the skyline both inside and out so the fact that it may or may not use the same drivetrain is irrelevant. same with bmw the 3,5,6,7 all look different and are all very different products. what i was referring to is that holden should try and look for more visual differentiation in its products rather than making them all look like the same car with different wheels and bodykits. I can understand from a cost perspective why they do it but i hate the look of the new commodoore but love the idea of a V8 awd wagon but because it looks like a typical family car i would never buy it. i think if they had a few more different body styles they would appeal to a larger range of buyers. I can understand the need for a common design thread but this should be limited to grilles and lights not the entire shape of the vehicle now if ford put a turbo or a v8 in the territory.... at least it doesnt look the same car the local telstra guy is driving.
