  1. has he swapped his turban for a kimono? is he going to kill the infidel whom he now calls gaijin with dodgy imports that drive themselves into office buildings? we will see the us military on the news soon with their satellite photos of some jap guys backyard the headlines will be: "is osama hiding in the local japanese guys outdoor beer cave" :bahaha: "OSAMA FOUND PISSED IN JAPANESE BEER CAVE" or "WORLDS MOST DANGEROUS TERRORITST FOUND WEARING A DRESSING GOWN"
  2. if anyone could sell ice to the eskimoes it would be holden yeah beats me how anyone could call a monaro or anyone of the many stupid variants of the commondoor a totally different car they all started off the same until the guys in the deign studio took out their gas axes who wants to buy a car from a company who has like 10 different models that are all the same car? at least when ford built the territory it was totally different to the falcon other than like 20% common parts but the chassis on all the commonwhores is identical its all packaging so they all get crap suspension crap transmissions and archaic looks
  3. very informative post there but i guess that thats the problem there holden is wayyyyy too good at public relations and unfortunatly there are a lot of sheep buyers in australia who just like to keep up with the jones'. The problem with a lot of car buyers in australia is that they do not make informed decisions and tend to just buy what ever everyone else is buying because it "must be good". If people actually took the time to go down to the ford and the holden dealership and try both cars they would be surprised with the differences. Holden has always been plagued by build quality issues and this is always noted by the motoring journos who test the cars regularly and even after so much mention is made of this they keep on producing the same ugly black tupperware as usual. The problem is that alot of these sheep watch the V8 super(blooper)cars and think that holden wins races so they must be good. Look at the increase of sales of ford merchandise this year after ford won the series last year it shows how much the series refelcts on the sales of the companies vehicles when in fact these cars have as much in common with their road going counterparts as a nascar does. I did not start this post as a holden bash nor am i bashing holdens myself I am merley pointing out that it is high time that holden picks up its act and starts to produce a world class car. If they want to contiunue exporting cars to the middle east and to the UK then they will need to work on improving their quality lest they give aussie made cars a bad name. With the reduction in price of many imported vehicles and the large choice now available to fleets and consumers I think that holden will soon begin to notice that their home market is going to slowly level off. I do not think holden i worthy of the number 2 spot in the aussie car industry holden is pretty much the commodoore car company. Where is the direction of the holden brand? are they are european influenced brand or are they a korean influenced brand or an american influenced brand? Over the next year we will see another imported model of car become available in the aussie giants showrooms the c100 based softroader to compete with the territory and escape awd vehicles. There is no common links between all of these vehicles the astra and vectra and barina come from the UK, the original commode was a design copied from a UK design and americanised (ie add a huge ass and bad plastics and voila) the new C100 is a design made in korea (daewoo hmm quality), the jackaroo is an isuzu as is the rodeo, the cruze is a suzuki on steroids Its quite a mix really the common designs really mark them as a product that you can recognise. what holden needs to do is to create a range of cars that are unique have a high level of quality tell a story and provide enjoyment to drivers not some mish mash of crap as offered now hmmm enoguh ranting i think
  4. what kinda toothpaste should we use? - colgate whitening for that white light look - colgate total for 12 hour protection against road grime or just regular old toothpaste :jk:
  5. friend of mine got pulled up in perth in his vy ss ute for having low beams and fogs on and the cop warned him not to do it as it is an offence and you can be fined and have 3 demerit points taken from you. but also said that if you wanna drive with fogs on you are only allowed to have parking lamps on at same time. this made no sense to me as its just another wanky thing that people who drive new fords and holdens will do to show off.
  6. The flaming that the guy got from the editor was quite funny too " Of course, Australia and its fleet managers are so averse to technology that they would never buy, say a Toyota. The Japanese had better rush the development of that two valve and pushrod V6 if they want to remain the nations no.1 brand much longer"
  7. "EURO STYLE NEEDED (Letter to Editor of Wheels Mag) Holden has en engine for enthusiasts like us. Its the V8. :bahaha: Most Commonwhore buyers arent like us. They are fleet buyers. The last thing fleet buyers want is to have to pay a couple of thousand dollars extra for a high-revving, high tech, high power premium engine with four camshafts and variable cam timing etc. Or telstra Technicians. Or Bank Managers. Horses for courses, for gods sake. We have an engine that gives us what we value. They have a right to an engine that gives them what they value. The new Holden V6 doesn't. :bahaha: Signed Stupid Commodoore Driver" So lets gets this straight large fleets will look at the new commode and think hmm its costs more but uses less fuel has better emissions has more torque better response finally has an improved transmission and say to themselves this car is not something we value. It must be because there are no pushrods in here and the transmission doesnt clunk around like my neighbours mum who has a peg leg. Hmm ok takes commodoore driver out the back and puts miserable sod out of his misery :headshot: And people wonder why holden and ford can use engines that are older than most of us this guys just sums it up.
  8. you spend so much of your free time (it time not working on modding your import) on skylinesaustralia.com that you actually sit on the puter waiting for someone to post something because you have read all the posts on the site
  9. 28th today cant wait to see the dyno results can you give a bit of a run down on the driving characteristics of the car pre turbo and post turbo and what you think is the biggest improvement after adding the turbo are you considering further mods? or does the 7psi boost level seem to be the safest max for preserving the life of the engine?
  10. btw someone wanna hand me a shovel?? sorry for digging up an old thread but linked to it from a newer thread and didnt even notice the date of the last post
  11. can anyone answer this one for me?? if you add a turbo to an engine that was n/a from the factory do you need to lower the compression ratio? if so what is involved in this? I know 666 dan has said that he is running his with stock compression and i think i read you said about 7psi of boost. is this 7psi the max you could safely get without lowering the compression? do you need new pistons to lower the compression?
  12. just wondering if anyone has seen any good body kits for the er34 gt or gtt sedans and if so has anyone got any pictures that they can post any pics would be much appreciated
  13. isnt the evo a low volume vehicle only approved for 100 units per year? im not sure about this but just relaying what i have been told
  14. corvettes have a great engine note it always brings a smile to my face when i hear someone give one a kick in the nads. there is one that i see almost daily around my area its jet black but he must have a dud car i always seem him broken down somewhere.
  15. i suppose we tend to forget that in japan the skyline is just another car among many others for people to choose. thats why there are so many r32 and r33's coming into aus because of the amount of them on the road. I think i read somewhere that in the first month that the V35 was on sale in japan they moved about 6500 vehicles if you look at that compared to how many lancers are sold in a month over here i am sure that will provide an interesting comparison.
  16. sounds to me like it might be a good idea to make sure my life insurance is paid up before i do any driving in japan. so do pedestrians and people on bikes seem to think that a cars fair game when they decide to play chicken then? i notice a lot of cars on auction sites all say that they have had some sort of panel damage so i am assuming that there a lot of accidents then. whats the national road toll like is it high or are the speeds low enough that people only injure themselves and dont often manage to kill themselves or others
  17. hello to all the sau members in japan. just wanted to ask what the general quality of drivers is like in japan. i remeber when i was in japan on exchange my okaasan drove us to school a few times and i was in fear for my life she was doing almost 80 down a road that looked like it hadnt been resurfaced in 20 years and was only wide enough for a bicycle even though there was two cars going in opposite directions trying to play chicken. is everyone this crazy or is it just crazy japanese housewives who have such a dull life that they drive like a kamikaze
  18. i suppose that in the perspective of an aussie where the skyline is a low volume import and the lancer is a mass produced vehicle that any 17 year old with a few bucks thinks is cool to dump on its ass and put a few stickers and an exhaust on it. i guess in japan where the skyline has a cult following you must see so many of them that they become boring and only the really good examples jump out at you. i guess the reason we get hit with such high costs for the evo is because they are a low volume import over here or imported in such small numbers that the costs are really high due to the cost of adr crash testing. in japan the evo must sell for a bit cheaper than the price we get hit for evo lee just wait till rezz forgets to invite shocker to the next pool match and its back to being beaten again
  19. i know japan is tight on space so you have got to think how the f**k can those guys in those vans find somewhere to park. id love to see them try to reverse parrallell park one of those on a busy street evo lee are most of these cars with crazy mods street legal?? i would have thought that huge wheel arches that look like they are held on with sticky tape and bubble gum and oil coolers hung on the bumper using coathanger wire would not be legal
  20. hey rezz are you trying to beat evo lee to post because he keeps beating you at pool??
  21. thumbprint entry and ignition would be good. need to devise a way to make the steering wheel lock and the handbrake lock when you get out of the car. buy a pitbull dont feed him and leave him in your car when you leave it anywhere and dont feel sorry for the poor theif who breaks into your car only problem maybe would be the dry cleaning to get the blood off the seats
  22. ok the first thumbnail is ok probably my fave one of the pics you have posted looks more like the total package rather than pieces of different cars all photochopped together the second one just doesnt look agressive enough for me needs a more agressive bodykit. the car looks nice and low and wide but it has a face that looks better on a sports luxury car rather than a performance icon like the skyline. the second last photo looks way too plain the back end is too flat no detail and the bumper needs work what can i say about the last one looks like someone hire oliver boulay from mitsubishi who did a good job at making the magna look fugly and applied his talents to the v35 yuk v35 magna line ha ha! EDIT:- or maybe it wasnt oliver boulay i cant remember whether he styled the BMW 7 series or the Magna
  23. rezz whats the word on mitsubishi in japan as you may have heard they have closed one of the plants in aus and are experiencing serious financial difficulties. is that going to affect the release of any models like the evo as you mentioned above or are they just trading like its business as normal over there? the evo x looks like someone mixed an aston martin with a current model evo its a mongrel
  24. a lot of the pros now dont even bother to break into the luxo cars or the cars that they know are going to be well alarmed. In perth the trend seems to be nowdays to break into your house at night while you are asleep and steal your car keys that way they have your alarm keypad and off they go. although this is the case i am sure that there a number of ways to prevent your car keys being stolen 1. dont leave them on then bench in the kitchen or on a keyhook. especially not on a shelf or table near the door. although this is convenient its much better to have them on your bedside table as the theives are less likely to come into a room where someone is sleeping. but if they do and they are armed your life is not worth risking if they really want you car. 2. get a good alarm for your house too not an alarm that uses motion sensors inside as most people turn them off at night because if they want to get up for a drink they will unintentionally trip the alarm. get one with shatterpoint sensors on the windows and reed switches on all the doors for full permiter security 3. fit a kill switch to your car as this will mean that even if they get your car keys they will still need to hunt round for the kill switch. the longer the teives linger the more likely they are to be seen or heard. 4. sleep with a gun under you pillow and then blow the theif away when he breaks in for you keys
  25. thanks rezz i didnt think i was going insane. the pics on the nissan japan site were a little confusing as you cant really make out the model numbers on the back of the sedans but they had photos of both the boot types on there and although i can read some of the words there was no descriptions of the pictures you are so lucky to be in japan you get all the great stuff and all the mods you can buy over there are insane are you planning on doind many mods to your 2!! skylines?
