  1. I almost made that mistake at Sandown once. The only thing that stopped me from flinging open the bonnet, which would have sent in a massive burst of fresh oxygen and flared up the flames, was a secondary bonnet strap I forgot I had on there. So I poked the fire extinguisher through the gap towards the exhaust manifold and let her rip.. luckily the fire extinguisher did its job. It does make you wonder if the minimum required 1kg extinguisher is enough for bigger fires, but very thankful I had one ready to go! Secondary bonnet strap is a good thing.
  2. LOL nice one Adam. I haven't seen old mate Golgo around the forums in a long time.
  3. The guys who operate Pedders South Melbourne aren't noobs, they are proper car enthusiasts in to modified cars. They had an R32 GTR track car and 180SX track+drift car. Ben spent a lot of time setting up my KW suspension to get the right camber setting, although he has returned to NZ now. Here's their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/PEDSM/ The also fitted an electronic brake controller and HD tow bar on my X5, again top quality service.
  4. lol
  5. Pretty low silver R34 GTR rumbling down Russel St CBD this afternoon...sounded tuff as. Black guy driving it.
  6. Epic thread bump from 9 years ago.
  7. Check the events section http://www.sau.com.au/forums/forum/102-events/
  8. Yes but if it was at 3am and the area is dark then I suppose that makes no difference!
  9. That is a glorious looking wing John. #approved
  10. Nope, have not. It's a good buy considering some nice mods, low kms.
  11. I've got my eye on that evo, better buy it before I do
  12. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to pay the $3 extra for a registered post envelope.
  13. Do you still have a skyline Adam? Why not get out and have a go on the track in your own car? I can't talk because I have no excuse either
  14. Probably because it's easier for dodgy people to print their own fake stickers ? More effort in counterfeiting a physical card, and can have more features added like holographic layers, etc. I think the cards are cool, your very own FIA-approved credentials
  15. Seems it's not hard to cheat win with an R35 GT-R
  16. I've always found it odd the "no engines start before 0900" rule - most people drive their race car when unloading off the trailers, or driving to the scrutineering area, either way there's definitely engines running Considering driver's briefing is usually at 0900, the majority of cars are processed through scrutineering before then.
  17. Most L2S CAMS regulated events in Vic require minimum 1kg extinguisher. For a fire like the one shown in the video, 1kg wouldn't be enough... You would need one of the big bad boys carried on the fire response vehicle and just hope it doesn't take 50 seconds to arrive. lol
  18. Bit of a rip to charge extra for dorian hire, considering they are normally included in the entry fee.
  19. Get a nevco
  20. That is indeed glorious news!! "The next generation of V8 Supercars, set to be introduced in 2017, allows for two-door cars and V6 engines to compete in the series." 2017 will be awesome!!! About time they reintroduced other cars.... but they are only doing it due to fading interest in the v8 series.
  21. lol colourclassic. I feel sorry for the driver.. must have been distressing to see the car on fire after all the work that goes in to building a race car. However, I would question how much attention was paid to safety during build as the firewall must have had a few holes in it to have flames in the cabin like that.
  22. Hardcore in-car footage from last month Victorian Sports Sedans Round 1 at Phillip Island... apparently a fuel line came loose.
  23. lol Dezz
  24. Just FYI for anyone wanting to register... use this link instead - https://www.nissanmotorsport.com.au/membership unless you want your details and password submitted in plain text (unencrypted). The payment link then redirects to paypal.
  25. not everyone in the alfa club drives an alfa... Low numbers means it's still a case of inviting other clubs to enter so they don't lose money on the cost of running the event.
