  4. Yeah I noticed that... I thought I saw a 1:15:?? on the timesheet that day with Ben's name next to it (Racepace GT-R) .... which I would have believed!
  5. nice... how much did the rebuild cost you ? are you planning to dyno it to see the power you're making post-rebuild?
  6. Andrew, try Camberwell Electric.. cnr Toorak and Camberwell Rds
  7. LOL for who didnt know who Ferry Corsten is, you guys are out of it! he's an international trance DJ, been around for years.. I've seen him DJ live several times.. the best was at Salt nightclub in 2000. Anyway I'm not into trance as much these days, I still love my progressive house tunez though so I dont know about going to Ferry Corsten... but I'll definitely drop in to Spy Bar to have a few drinks with the Team Wang crew to celebrate Andrew's Bday! ps. Mansion used to r0xoR!
  8. awww.. Are you going to bring it for show'n tell bass?
  9. LOL. Yes dude, the water spray kit is designed to enhance the cooling ability of your intercooler. Spraying cooler water or mist over the cooler will help with the cooling of the charge air running through the intercooler. You dont need a spray kit, but extra cooling always helps
  10. My oil cooler setup works just fine
  11. LOL yes Amber you were loving it
  12. Just slightly inflated prices there? Depends what RPM drive you're quoting.. You can buy a 73Gb Cheetah Ultra320 10,000rpm... for $455 http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_product...HD-SEST373307LW It's true, a SCSI system will cost alot more than Serial ATA drives.. plus you would need a SCSI controller card too (another $300). but hey, you get what you pay for Thanks, the big version looks awesome! 13. hahahaha nice one
  14. SCSI drives are worthwhile if you can afford them. The throughput is much greater than IDE and you will notice the difference with applications that need fast drive access. 3D Rendering uses alot of system resources and alot of the response time will depend on the slowest part of the IO system, which is your hard drive. The faster the drive, the better your system response time. Some people may disagree but SCSI has a definite advantage for this type of system. You could get away with using cheaper SATA drives for a RAID setup, probably RAID 10 would be best (speed benefits of RAID 0 with the redundancy of RAID 1). The downside is you will need more drives and only use half the space on them if you want redundancy. I still say go for SCSI drives Either way this system is going to cost you more than $2k
  15. Yeahhh that's what I'm talkin about! w00t! Nice work man. I love the automatic spray via the RSM idea! Looking forward to getting mine hooked up
  16. Ok first of all - The biggest performance bottleneck in your system will still be your hard drives. If you want faster performance, go for Ultra320 SCSI drives. They cost a fair bit more (probably out of your budget) but you cant really compare them to IDE/ATA/SATA drives. SCSI drives still own them all, as they communicate independantly of the CPU over the SCSI bus. Follow that up with the fastest 775pin P4 processor you can afford and minimum 1Gb+ DDR RAM and it should do just fine for what you want to use the system for.. If you use alot of multi-threaded 3D applications that will take advantage of multiple CPU performance, consider a dual-CPU system. You will notice the difference in apps like Lightwave 7.5 and 3D Studio Max 5.1. P4 processors generally score higher benchmarks in 3D rendering performance than 32bit AMD CPU's - this is mainly due to the hyperthreading capabilities in P4 processors. Regardless if you decide to go with AMD or Intel, just make sure you setup your swap files, virtual memory and scratch disks properly to make the most of your new hardware. Fine tuning and tweaking your operating system will enhance performance alot. Also, dont bother with overclocking it will shorten the life of your hardware, and if it's set up properly in the first place - why bother? For your graphics card, unless you need VERY fast gaming performance, you dont need the newest fastest card there is. For example if you bought an ATI Radeon X800 XT/Pro, you would need a very fast CPU to make the most of the graphics card performance (slower CPU will be your bottleneck). On a PC platform, most of your 3D application rendering work will be done by the CPU, not the graphics card. I'd only spend up to $300 on graphics card for your purposes - go for an ATI Radeon chipset-based AGP card with 128Mb or 256Mb RAM on-board. If you're buying LCD's get a card with DVI output (if your LCD's support DVI). I'd also recommend buying a card with a 256-bit memory interface such as the ATI 9800 series cards (which also have DVI-I and TV-out). They will out-perform other 128-bit cards, even if the other cards have more on-board memory. Oh and go here for the direct price list - http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS_W.HTM Hope this helps. Good hunting.
  17. Well I think it's time for a new topic since most of the topics in the Vic section are getting boring.. So, just wondering - What are your "rules" when you have passengers in your car? Mine are: 1. No smoking in the car - ever 2. No eating or drinking unless I say it's ok 3. No farting in the car (except for me lol) 4. If [ex]girlfriend is with me, she rides in the front - no exception. Otherwise, shotgun rules apply 5. Dont play with the electric windows 6. Dont touch the stereo, if you dont like my music you can walk 7. No complaining I'm going too fast There's a few others but that's all I can think of for now
  18. I didnt vote for him, or anyone else for that matter
  19. Steve Bracks is a KUNT. I hate that greedy money grabbing revenue raising motherf^cker. That is all.
  20. ROFL Alot of Honda drivers like to think VTEC gives them some insane amount of power, whereas it's really just a different engine noise
  21. hahahaha nice one Geoff!
  22. I agree with the comments about the S14a gearboxes, tough as nails!! Oh Ferni, if your mechanic hasnt paid for it yet, you have the upper hand, play nice for a week and see how far they are willing to co-operate, otherwise get your mechanic to take her out and drop it off to them full of grease and oil. haha
  23. hahaha i love it all that effort, even doing an illegal u-turn and he got nothing out of it. Officer Pettit if you're reading this: SUCKED IN CHIEF!!
  24. Oh, and for that dent in your passenger door Daz - give this guy a call for paintless dent removal, he charges around $80 per panel. Tap Tap Magic 0418 533 202
  25. Will have the pics on Thursday.
