Thanks for the replies. I have heard about SydneyKids good work and i have been very keen on Bilsteins. However cash is not as abundant as i would like and I am considering other options. I know the stock 260 springs in it are thicker than gtr springs but i have not compared them to any other stagea springs. I would not mind stiffer springs if need be. How much price difference are we talking between KYB and Bilsteins (either B6 or SK)?

The time has come to replace my shocks in the 260. What are a good option for replacing the shocks which give decent ride and performance? Something which gives good value for money is ideal. I will keep the standard springs. I don't want to go to coilovers at this point in time as I want to maintain good ride quality, plus the front lip is low enough already.

Chris's R34 Gtt 4 Door Diary
flavzz replied to Chris32's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Excellent write up mate. I can personally vouch that the car is super responsive with more than enough power for the street. The HKS 2535 is almost the perfect match for a stock RB25. The Neo head gives it that extra breathing capability too. I know Chris and I were predicting around 230-240kw so when it came back from Boostworx with 255 it was a nice surprise. It's also a testament to a good thorough install process with attention to detail. The car is an example of a really well modified streetable daily driven car which can be enjoyed without concern of major wear and tear. -

What are your thoughts on the BC coilovers? How firm are they? -
Great day and huge variety of cars. I was also amazed at the amount of spectators. The lead up to AJD encouraged me to fix the front bar among many other things the 260 needed. I'll add a couple pics for those that missed it.
-
Fair enough. My car isn't show spec at all but it seems pretty laid back so hopefully it will be a good day to chat to a few people and see some cool cars

Anyone enter their car in AJD this year? For those who don't know its this Sunday at Glenelg. I've entered my bus. I have spent the past 4 weeks solid fixing numerous issues and it's finally coming together. Should be a fun day. Last count I think it was close to 400 cars entered.

How are you enjoying Stagea life Ben? What's the feedback been like from the front end conversion and paint job? Most importantly are you enjoying the car? -
Hey lads, i just upgraded to a Samsung S5 and installed the SAU app. The app freezes on the SAU image screen every time no matter how long i leave it. Restarted the phone and same issue. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still have the same problem.

S1 Stagea Orange Side Indicator Part Numbers
flavzz replied to flavzz's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The S1 260RS has orange front & side indicators as well as orange/red rear lights. Changing only the sides to clear would ruin the original look of the car which I am aiming to preserve. -

I'd beg to differ. A 260RS will not be desirable in years to come? -

Found an image of the part number and it appears mine were original. -

I can't be certain that it's an original part. I found the part number for the assembly on that website. 26160-40Y00 for the 260RS, it appears it's the same for other stageas too. Stagea97, have you ever used that website to purchase parts? -
Trying to find the part number for the original orange side indicators. I imagine it was the same part for all series 1 stags. I want to keep the original look of the car and don't want to change to clears.

Great colour choice Ben. More pics would be great especially of the rear wing. Did you respray the engine bay? Looks excellent. -
Great build mate. What are your aims for hp and 1/4 mile times?

Nice choice on the stagea Ben. The Gtr front really suits the stagea body. Good on you for posting this up for all to see. I know mcm fans including myself are pretty interested in ichiban and the builds we don't get to see on mcm. Cheers -

Any front drive shafts? -
Congrats mate. List of mods is very tasteful!

Hey Blitz, yes a nice sunny day with mount Fuji in the background would have been nice but I was happy to get there at all. Certainly a great event for SAU guys or any Nissan fans. It was amazing to see the lap time difference between the r35 gt3 and the gt500 cars. The gt500 cars were in another league. Gt500 and all the ex Le-mans car noises were pretty epic.

A Reminder To Check Your Radiator Fan For Cracks And Stress Fractures
flavzz replied to flavzz's topic in General Maintenance
I think factory ones are best for street use. A friend installed the gktech one and then promptly removed it due to the noise. -
I was just doing some routine maintenance and discovered some serious stress fractures and 2 big cracks in the radiator fan base. Obviously if this let go it could cause some serious collateral damage (radiator/hose/water pump/belts etc) Many of our cars are at the age where plastic parts have experienced numerous heat and stress cycles. The radiator fan is one of the most stressed plastic components in the engine bay. Check not only for cracks but discolouration which is indicative of plastic deformation inside the part. So take 5 minutes to check yours and replace if necessary. It could save you a lot more than the cost of the fan.
