  1. thanks for the PMs re: cluster still need the airbox
  2. fordman: have a look at tofus blue 32 for sale!
  3. is the cluster for a GTR and complete? if so ill take it
  4. do you have a dash cluster or airbox?
  5. Hi guys Just chasing a 32 GTR airbox complete. Please let me know if you have something or know someone who does cheers, trav
  6. cas are around $200 second hand if you can find one. I had to replace mine 2 months ago
  7. i compared the 2 because i didnt believe it either but the standard size gtr one has a fair sized metal rim on it which only adds to the overall diameter
  8. its supposed to be where it is. a little spring should sit inbetween it and the cable which pushes it out far enough so it can interlock in the cluster. go for a drive and if it spins, then it should be able to turn the cluster once you put it back together properly
  9. guys, you can use the 200sx filter from nissan. Its easier to get in position since it has a really small body but the same internal volume as the GTR filter. nissan have them in stock for $13
  10. and if you mean that the plastic piece is inside the cluster then shouldnt it be long enough to be half hanging out and easy to grab?
  11. same thing happened to me. The plastic thing is supposed to stay attached to the speedo cable Go for a little drive to see if that white plastic piece still spins inside the white cup. If it does, then it just slides into the cluster and turns the speedo If it isnt turning you can re-sleeve it with a straw which will make the whole assembly a tight fit again. Other people have superglued it back in place. But you must make sure the plastic tip is pressed hard into the speedo cable and stays there so it has no choice but to turn with the cable. I dunno if thats clear enough but if you have questions just ask and ill be able to answer them cause ive just done exactly the same thing a month back
  12. trent doesnt do mobile work anymore I was quoted $275. Perhaps cheaper cause i currently have no tint on the car. Dont worry about the skylines...hes an expert on the R32
  13. To me it sounds more like a problem with one of the AFM's. The solder joints inside the AFM's deteriorate with age and with jiggling around whilst driving they can lose contact. This would explain why sometimes the car drives and boosts as per normal and other times, once the contact is no more, you get crappy idling and stalling and basically no drivability. Theres a tutorial on how to fix GTR AFM's. Sometimes the plugs can be a little dicky also. I just had to replace the top AFM plug with a second hand rb20 one and it works a treat. I even had the AFM repaired and it was the crappy $5 plug. good luck
  14. steve...what? that didnt make much sense
  15. PWR claim that all their fabrication is done at their factory unless fabrication means fitting end tanks lol
  16. yeah that shows the limitation of the SAFC. perhaps have a dyno run late at night if the workshop will open
  17. It will get rid of r & r with proper tuning by not allowing the AFM to see the full 5.1V i think it is Misfires will be due to your plug gap and/or coilpack condition.
  18. if you look closely it includes the labour to strip head and clean, fit crank collar, fit rod bolts etc so id say its everything bar removal and refit of the long motor
  19. just saw you got the boost controller....well, thats one thing less you need
  20. if youre happy with the power output of the standard turbo then go with the SAFC and provided your coils are good, youd be getting close to 300hp on 12psi and for many people, thats enough for the occassional squirt. gap your plugs to .8 from memory and your fuel pump should be good enough all though its always nice to know youve got a safety net in regards to flow should you replace it. Especially as theyre over 10 years old now. Youve got all the other supporting mods there such as FMIC, cooler and clutch. Whats controlling your boost? Those $22 spring bleed valves on this site would be ok for your application
  21. well fellas heres a copy of a parts list from a pro engines build that was posted on the site a few moons ago should be of some use to a few
  22. and just to be tricky...perhaps brushed aluminium or stainless frame airbox with perspex panels?
  23. did you do it with WOT? and was the engine warm? Dont worry about the lowness of the average compression...as you said, your battery died. however, did you try squirting a little oil into cylinder 3 to see if that improved compession? and if it did itd suggest your rings most likely need replacing on that cylinder
  24. is that at old engine pic? where is the T51?
  25. yeah the gt-ss kit but its gonna have to wait till after xmas since i dont think theyll get here before.
