  5. yeah i know alex since i was in the vl turbo scene a while back. Is it still using the internally gated xr6 turbo? poor tyres looked like theyd been baking in the sun their whole life hey!
  6. sorry to be a wet blanket, but i hope youre not relying on those BF scorchers to be anything like a slick cause theyre an ordinary radial tyre just noticed you thought they were slicks on the motavate website
  7. Alex's car ? what a transformation. I remember that thing as a white stocker with walky rims up here in the northern suburbs years ago.
  8. 17 yo with 33 GTR! be careful now haha picsorban!
  9. if you want a resonator, get a resonator. its your car. whats right for you might not be right for others. itll get rid of the drone and wont harm flow a hell of a lot
  10. hundreds of people are using the N1 pump without problems Keep your rev limit to a sensible limit and you shouldnt have any problems If you arent afraid to give the thing a hiding and want more 'peace of mind' then start saving for a Jun pump but expect to pay a little over twice the price of an N1
  11. shes coming along nicely accumulated all the parts like turbos (gt-ss), injectors, powerfc, pump, AFMs, nissan o2's but just need to fit them all at once and see how long the donk lasts
  12. I went for a holiday to the states south west recently and kept a keen eye on fuel consumption on the 300km one way trip i managed to get a perfect 10L/100km which i thought could never be done in a 32 GTR. This included half a dozen 'spirited' overtakes around town though i manage, on average, 500km to a full tank everytime i fill up i write down the mileage and what i just replaced the tank with (ie, what i just used) and have done this over a period of 6 months the average result is 11.4L / 100km this is still a stock-turboed GTR though
  13. however, blue smoke as suggested by your mate points to busted piston rings as its the colour given off when oil is burnt
  14. Ive been following your build for a while now on motivate because you probably remember me telling you i had this car looked over when i was looking for a GTR. good to see youve spent some money on it clint to transform the car and make proper use of the gear that was already on there Good luck with the tuning!
  15. water and oil dont mix so flushing it wont do the trick if the radiator can handle it, do a 50:50 mix of metho and kero
  16. sounds good, let me know when youre up and running
  17. yes full specs/story of R34 published 2006, fresh on the shelf! ahaha steve: the library aint that bad a place to be. theres some great free stuff there
  18. which one is it?
  19. after looking at heaps i can say there a lots that are shitpiles Airon vents snapped, missing stereos, ripped interior trims, ceramic turbos on last legs, 17 year old motors that are timebombs, abused drivelines, dodgy repairs, faded paint/cracked spoilers, rust in rear guards. And since only an enthusiast would want to spend 10k on a new motor, 3k on turbos, 1k+ on a clutch or $100+ on an air vent then you can see why not many people can afford to own AND repair one. For a little extra they can get a 33R and a lot newer car
  20. Yes. With the amount of air flow produced by the garretts I dont think a pneumatic bleed valve will be able to bleed off any considerable amount of air to keep those wastegates shut, let alone keep boost levels stable make sure you keep us updated with dyno figures etc
  21. well ive got the twin 3 inch front pipes that merge into a 4 inch collector that goes into my MetalCat, then 3 inch all the way to a quiet kakimoto, so all id need replacing is the muffler. What mufflers (cannons) do you use??
  22. Wow, what a book! Have a look at your local library and see if you can find yourself a copy of this. Its called " Skyline GTR, The Ultimate Japanese Supercar" written by Andy Butler. Its a great read and the pictures are just HOT!, all 160 pages worth. well worth the effort of getting off my arse and checking the library catalogues haha It covers the history of skylines, the GTR, how to find a winner, specs, how to modify, the GTRs racing history and the next GTR. All though its written by a pom, he knows his stuff and a lot of the info comes from Kozo Watanabe, the MD of NISMO japan I found mine at Whitfords! Skyline book
  23. its amazing to see as many as we do considering : 11 310 R34 GTRs built 16 422 R33 GTRs built and a comparatively huge 43 934 R32 GTRs built
  24. what muffler do you have on your GTR? My eyes lit up when i read 'sound' 'GTR' & 'blood curdling' haha i want mine like that, stupid kakimoto
