I have 2 perfect condition RB25DET bottom ends, complete minus oil pumps. 2 running motors were stripped for 30det conversions Both compresion tested, both good. From what Ive heard they are worth around $500 each, open to offers though. Suit somebody with a popped bottom end, or N/A to turbo conversion perhaps. Also I have a R33 S2 manual 25det ecu, $150 i think theyre worth. And a standard 25DET exhaust manifold, $40 Steve

RB25 Turbo in good condition, still in the car atm, minimal shaft play 5000k's ago when i fitted it, not sure on pricing make resonable offers, im thinking $400 plus postage. It includes the outlet elbow piece. Also if anyone wants it the standard exhaust manifold and dump pipe, make an offer. Selling due to upgrade, and pleas dont ask for pics im sure you all know what a standard turbo looks like. Cheers. Steve

Compressor Surge.. Ie Flutter!! Questions, help plz
TurkeySlapper replied to jazza08's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just a side note i have the oh so lovely flutter noise at low rpm with a blitz bov, but im actually a little bit over it to be honest, sure it sounds cool but under gentle backing off, particularly noticeable on the fwy if you accelerate gently, build boost, then back off gently, the flutter will last for a good couple of seconds and cause very annoying shudder thru the whole car cos the AFM is getting jerky readings. Like the stick wobbles violently and any passengers who dont know the car will look at me and ask whats wrong with it... Any one else notice this? Steve -
How long would a motor last with 250kw
TurkeySlapper replied to KRiMiNaL's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
On the PFC knock reading, what is generally acceptable? I was consisently getting between 80-100 knock values, then retarted my CAS a little and now getting around 30's. But it dont pull quite as hard -

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
TurkeySlapper replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah yeah i know its not an RB20 buuuut while we're on the subject of modded engines, can ppl who have experience with GCG hi-flows give me some feedback regarding power/response etc? I have a stock RB25 with FMIC and pod making 200rwkw and soon will have a PFC, a bolt on turbo upgrade is a very attractive option but i dont wanna fork out and get bugger all power increase. At least 230rwkw im thinking, will the 450hp turbo provide that? P.S. i did have a 20 before i popped it, must say revs kick arse but id never go back to one. -

SAFCII Dyno Tuning Results
TurkeySlapper replied to geno8r's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
--- Get the SAFC tuned on a dyno, you can even do it yourself, i do. With the stock cooler i was pulling 18% of fuel out at the top end, but with the installation of the FMIC, its now down to about -12% at the top end. --- and how did you figure this out? I'm shit scared of making her detonate. My approach was to lean out gradually then swith to the knock monitor, but surely thats dodgy? besides its hard to tell what knock reading is bad, it sits around 40 or 50 normally i think but will sometimes hit 200. I cant wait to get mine on the dyno now, just gotta get new pump in. -
help diagnosing problem with rb25
TurkeySlapper replied to tomj's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah thats what i meant, if you hit the limiter too quickly, which happens when spinning the wheels, then it just shits itself. but if you acclerate full throttle without spinng it doesnt cut out but surges randomly thru the rev range. why oh why. -
Maxed AFM, and other questions
TurkeySlapper replied to hayes_666's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
man i'm going to flamed for this. I know that SAFC's are no way near good enough get a power fc blah blah blah but cos thats not an option atm $$ wise would it be possible to use a Z32 AFM on a stock RB25 with an SAFC2? Cos mine reads up to 100% all the time and the engine has a very annoying cutout/detonation at high revs occasionally. I only ask this cos the SAFC manual says that you can specify an "in" and "out" type of AFM reading, as in it can convert a Z32 afm reading into a RB25 reading, or thats what i gathered. Bit of a dodgy bandaid solution ive been pondering. -
help diagnosing problem with rb25
TurkeySlapper replied to tomj's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey, mine does something sililar, aussie 31 series 2 rb25 fmic all else stock, when nailing it in the dry it will run ok half the time and piss and fart the other half, but in the wet as it starts to spin in 1st or 2nd and the revs climb too quickly it just starts to rev then completely dies in the arse, then thinks about it, revs back up then dies again... veeeeerrrryyyy frustrating. Tomj i feel your pain -
may i be rude and ask a couple of q's an adjustable actuator does away with the need for a boost controller yes? as long as you only want a particular boost setting obviously. and what are these worth? I'm looking for something a little less dodgy than a bleed valve. I didnt know there was such a thing as adj actuators!
