Keeping the battery as is, shouldn't need to move it. Those bags seem a good idea. Currently have a Japspeed D1 cooler which is the one that uses the existing pipe but it doesn't cool enough on long pulls so changing it.
-
I'm looking to install a bigger fmic, which will involve moving the washer bottle to fit the pipe work. I was thinking of getting a 200sx bottle to use but wondered what people on here had done?

Engine ecu needs to send an tps voltage to the 4wd ecu to allow 4wd to work. Mines being sorted on the map.
-
It was tuned on the road rather than on a dyno. Located the 4wd ecu (rear passengerside) and got fault code 75-tps fault. Looks like it needs an output from the ecu, tuner is looking into it.
-
Haha thanks anyway Scott. There just doesn't seem to be anything in English which ways where the 4wd ecu is. Going to have to strip the boot out at the weekend to find it I think.
-
Trying to find the 4wd ecu so I can look for fault codes, anyone know where it is?
-
No gone for the Link G4 ecu.Don't think anything that was done would have affected the throttle position sensor, how would that affect the 4wd? Yeah could be coincidence, but the light came on as soon as the new ecu was plugged in.
-
Just had the car remapped (drives so much better now) but the 4wd light has come on and we can't work out why. As far as I know the 4wd is controlled by a separate ecu, at least it is in the Skyline, so I was presuming it's still the case in the Stagea? This is on a series 1 rs4 that's had a manual gearbox conversion. Not had a problem with the 4wd system before, any help would be appreciated.

I've just done a manual gearbox conversion on my s1 rs4 and I'm getting a bit of noise at around 1,500rpm when the car's in gear. I've used an R32 GTR gearbox with competition stage 2 clutch, all seems to be working fine just see, to get this sort of metallic noise, any ideas?

Cheers

I'm looking into putting a bigger front mount on my Stagea and was wondering about mounting it. Would an intercooler with the pipes and mounts for a skyline be a direct fit?

R32 Gtr gearbox, competition stage 2 organic clutch and all the parts in between have now been ordered. This is going to get interesting.

Stagea Manual Conversion Guide
liammph-uk replied to tRUkbOY's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Got all the parts ready to order, just been advised by a mechanic friend to check that the starter motor and shafts don't need changing. Not seen them mentioned here so I assume not? -
What's the difference with the s2 lights, is it just clear indicators?
-
Not really going to do anything else with the body, don't want it looking fast, love the look on people's faces when it flies past. Manual box and hybrid turbo is the next job, then fmic, remap and a few other bits and pieces and should be running around 400bhp

Thought it was about time I gave a bit of details about my motor since I've been using this forum a fair amount. I'd been saving for an Imprezza when a friend pointed this out to me and for £1100 at new year I ended up with a RS4 Stagea: First job was to get rid of the "jdm" stickers on the back, and got rid of the rs4 and nismo badges on the back too. Stageas are very rare over here so wanted these off to it doesn't look too special, going for a sleeper effect: After: Didn't have any mats so managed to get a set of r34 gtt ones off a friend, and fitted an alpine headunit: Took the door cars out to look at the speakers and found they'd already been replaced with Sony ones, winner! Ordered and fitted some BC coilovers in some fine British weather which improved the handling a hell of a lot: Not sure if the laws the same in Oz, but over here you need to have a rear fog light, so all imports have to have a hanging one fitted which doesn't look great. As the Stag has two reversing light and you only need one I simply cut the feed to one, put a red bulb in and wired the fog light up to it, making the back end look tidier: Next the car went into a bodyshop for a week to have the rust below the wing mirrors sorted, along with under the bonnet at the top of the suspension. This eliminated all of the rust on it. Had a very busy weekend following that where I removed the airbox and put a HKS mushroom filter in, adjusted the coilovers, fitted 350Z wheels and replaced the exhaust with a Blitz Nur Spec R system, decat, and 3 inch downpipe. A subtle but deep tone from the exhaust now. Brought a set of R32 Gtr front seats and some sabelt double release 4 point harnesses to help keep my ass in place while driving: Then a HKS EVC4 for boost control and also acts as a boost gauge: Then got a set of R33 GTS-T brake calipers were then bought, I painted them and fitted them with red stuff pads and dimpled and slotted pads: This is now where the car currently stands after I've owned her for almost 3 months. All the work has been done by myself (apart from the rust repair) with the help of friends.

Your Exhaust System - Post Your Setup

S1 C34 RS4 HKS mushroom filter 3" downpipe, decat and blitz nur spec r with a baffle in. Comfortable noise level with the baffle in, nice and subtle. Got a 3" elbow to go in when I hybrid the turbo. -
The one going to the diff. God knows how it affected it but saw it was snapped and once I'd replaced it the speedo was fine.
-
Had a problem with mine jumping when doing under 10mph, would jump up to 60+, turned out to be a dodgy earth so it might be worth checking yours.
-
Cleaned the afm and idle control valve but still no luck, any ideas?
-
Will check all the clamps are good and clean the afm as the first port of call. When putting the exhaust on I noticed there was an earth wire going to the diff that was snapped, could this cause any problems?
-
Had a few issues with the idle this week on my c34 stagea rs4. Its a bit uneven and will sometimes dip down to about 200rpm as if it's going to stall. Only noticed it since putting a hks mushroom filter and 3" exhaust on last weekend, could this have cause this? Other trains of thought are that it could be the AFM.

Are gtr seats a straight swap? Put off buckets cause of the hassle with mounting them. Yeah they are pretty common sense laws for a change.
-
Yeah reclining are ok. It's to do with cutting people out of cars. Harnesses have to have a red release button so can easily by identified and seats must recline so they can get you out on a spinal board. It's meant to come into affect in April, they tried about a year ago but realized none of the mot garages were prepared.
-
The rules over here are a bit different, allowed harnesses but not allowed none reclining bucket seats.
