  1. Yeah low splitters won't work at calder
  2. Good stuff. Are you driving at Superlap too Andrew? I'm hoping to do both as long as everything goes well at the creek.
  3. Spewin I missed the test day. I'm very keen to have a go around the dome
  4. Yep I'm Russell too see you in November.
  5. I've had mine in for years. No other mods. No problems. Just install them right!
  6. Hey Paul. I wouldn't bother using the 595 SS's on the track. For you I would recommend using KU36's, RS-R's or AD08's if you want to spend more. In my opinion, why buy a street tyres for more money than you can buy semi's! KU's and RS-R's are available pretty cheap through option 1 or maybe OTR. Look in the traders section of SAU. If you wanted to spend 450-520 a tyre go for Advan AO50 or AO48 or Bridgie RE55's. Have a go with good street's first before you go buying semi's new. If you can stick with 17's I'd recommend that too. Don't right off 2nd hand semi's. I did a couple of years of track work on 2nd hand stuff and they served me well. Just beware of the manufacturing date stamp. ie 3409 means 34th week of 2009. Beware semi's drive very different to streets.
  7. Hey Russell. I'll be entering. I drove the course on tuesday while visiting a mate (Adam Branford, also on the committee) in Mt Gambier. Can't wait. Sure looks on the crazy side of things!!!
  8. My car is now ready. Limited power level because of a restrictive intercooler but at least it's racing! Very promising after a test day at sandown on the weekend. The day was mostly wet but already slightly faster than my previous times on old tyres and struggling to get heat into the tyres in a dryer but cold session. Only really going to get one more days testing at PI and then its time for superlap Here's some pics.
  9. Few more pics from sandown. Thanks Jovan!
  10. I have vids but need to convert the files.
  11. Yeah I'll go for Saturday. Got hold of Theresa and she said there are heaps of spots left for both days. Campbell is coming down with me. See how we go with weather. If it's going to be real wet I might stay home. I'll enter on the day. I'll go with the race chrono lap timer and should hopefully be in a fast group.
  12. Has anyone ever entered on the day? Just realised that they are still in the dark ages of snail mail. No email address or phone number... I think Tim and Campbell are working on Campbells 32.
  13. Thanks Dane. I'm heading down to a PIARC day this weekend hopefully. You wanna go?
  14. Did you want to share a garage John? I think they are $150 for the day. Might be able to get 3 of us so we only pay $50 each. I'm thinking it's only worthwhile if it rains. Also I don't think I have any pit crew that can make it. Anyone wanna come down and lend a hand?
  15. A032A are really old aren't they? Were they on the car when you bought if off Chris?
  16. I'd say the AD08 is miles ahead of RS-R's and KU's. Haven't tried myself but that's what I've seen on other cars.
  17. do you need to pay for the carports?
  18. Yeah I think the main problem is getting heat into the tyres more than the age. I'm going to find it hard with the cold temeratures to generate grip. Might possibly run softs instead of mediums. Not generating heat into a 265 tyres with the weight of my car could mean slow times. More downforce is the key... That's a work in process I don't think we overlayed the dyno graphs but I reckon there isn't much more lag than the old setup. My 20 had low compression coz of the 1.2mm Tomei head gasket so it was laggy until boost came on so there was a fair bit of time waiting for boost even between gear changes. The 25 was nothing like that, always making power. I found the 25 power delivery was amazing. It pulled like a train all the way to redline.
  19. They were good except the first dry session when I actually could brake hard I had massive fade. Using Motul RBF600. Gave it a good bleed then it was great for the last session (hardest braking). I'm happy so far.
  20. Thanks richo. I would be happy with just the racechrono times. Worked well yesterday
  21. I want to go and do some testing this weekend at PI. It's both days but sat is driver training etc. Has anyone been to a saturday with piarc before? Is it really tame/slow cars?
  22. Thanks guys. We had our first outing at sandown today. Went really well. The car was pretty much flawless with the new setup. Only issue I had was brake fluid in one session. Quick bleed and I went out again. I did a 1:24.09 which is my new PB. Not bad for a setup that I'm still getting used to and running lower power output still. It shows the build quality and pride that the guys at Ace put into their work I'm lovin it! I'm still running second hand RE55's that are at least a year old and I found it hard to trust them in the wet. They came good in the afternoon but there would be more time on newer tyres of course. I'm loving the power delivery and I'm adapting to the changes quick enough. Next weekend I'm hoping to do philip island and test out the wing on the fast corners there. Thanks to Ace workshop guys and pit crew that helped today Good times...
  23. Haha. Thought I'd stir some people up
