  5. Why would they go for a higher temp ? Yo heat up incoming fuel and air as much as possible, or so the clearances between parts are worse when cold? Its not to make more power. Its for emissions.

  7. Why us hotter better though? The expansion rates of different metals is linear. They don't expand more from 0 to 40 than compared to 100 to 140. They don't become similar at a certain range. The expansion rates that is. I'm confused.
  8. And the belt doesn't hold power, neither does the idler or tensioner. They spin. They spin the same making 150kw ad 450kw. Spinning is spinning. The only thing that will make a belt work harder would be stiff springs and aggressive cams, not power.
  9. Nizpro mounted both idler and tensioner above the water pump ages ago. You'll have trouble finding what belt to use though. And there's no such thing as rb30de block. Its a shame you didn't check to see if the idler face was there ready to go, all later blocks had it, just early blocks didn't all have it. Guys have made some adapters and such to get the idler mounted in the typical spot.

  12. Well of course, if it went bad straight after the work something he did likely caused it. Timing could be wrong either cam or ignition. Sensors not plugged in correctly, coil loom as mentioned. What's your plan? Fix it yourself via an internet diagnosis or be normal and go back and get him to fix it?

  15. Surely it is just a resistor. Measuring the resistance of the bonnet popprr would take 5 seconds. Resistors are mega cheap.
  16. So now you are going to try too low but no coilovers and see what happens? ?
  17. With a neo head the can timing ends up 4 degrees out. I imagine it would be the same with the 26 head. The thing is it's pretty easy to be either advanced or retarded. It's half a tooth. By facing the head it will reduce the error, making it easier for you to get closer to correct.
  18. Its just that you specifically bought the car to not get defected and mentioned defects in this thread. So why not coilovers?
  19. How would that compare to the legal minimum? From what I have seen with stageas you basically can't lower them at all and be legal in SA.
