  1. My 2530 with a neo head and 260 cams idled like stock with slightly higher vacuum. I know if VCT was activated at idle it idled like crap. Could that be the case with yours?
  2. Use heater hose the same diameter as what it is. Normally 19 mm but could be 16. Pop bonnet, look at car. Buy hose. Do it. Then actually fix it correctly as it is a defect to not have hot air able to be blown onto windscreen. And you will get cold soon.
  3. What revs are you idling at? The 260 cams are drop in. I thought the 264 weren't drop in but I could be wrong. Are you 100 percent sure that they are drop in? Making it richer at idle typically helps. Also are you sure they are dialed correctly. I would have thought that the extra duration would drop the cranking psi generated, as it certainly drops manifold vaccum at idle. I recommend double checking cam timing and drop in status of the cams.
  4. The market drives the price though doesn't it. If silly kids realised they could buy a cheap car and wait untill their full licence then dealers wouldn't be able to give away non turbo skylines. Looking cool costs heaps of cash Kids. Back in my day..
  5. Are you suggesting a brand new power fc has t he boost cut set to 5 psi?
  6. I transferred an unregistered motorbike with no plates from queensland to SA no worries
  7. Sounds like a new tuner is the go.
  8. Sounds like a shit tune as it wasn't doing it before. I would ask who ever tuned it to fix it. But realistically I would probably just want to go somewhere who knows what they are doing. if they can't get it to start nicely I wonder how bad the rest of the tune is.
  9. By doing what was suggested in the post above yours that's how you actually get the correct piston.
  10. Pinging is detonation. That's great you trust who've put the gauge on the car and probably set it up correctly. Is it possible it doesn't work? Like a broken wire? See what I mean about trusting a gauge . How can you when they can either be setup incorrectly or fail. When making large changes to a tune and swapping ecu to a random one is definitely large, you really should go on a dyno to check what's going on. Like I said, report back. Just because a car runs rich doesn't mean it won't detonate, and just because a gauge doesn't show detonation doesn't mean much. What gauge and sensor is it?
  11. Boost on. Don't worry about the fact it could have a totally gumby tune in it. what's a dyno run vs engine rebuild cost analysis?
  12. Ok. You are silly to trust a gauge 100 percent. They need to be setup to detect the correct frequency based on bore size. Get that wrong and it won't work correctly. One more time. Do you know what pinging sounds like? More fuel than stock is crazy. Not good. At the end of the day, if you are happy and the car runs for a while that's all that matters. Please update this thread if you have any issues with the car.
  13. Your arent noobs but ask some seriously noob question about a random ecu... Even more rich than the stock ecu is mental. Is your detonation gauge set to the correct frequency? Do you know what pinging sounds like? Good luck with it all.
  14. Does your mate know what pinging sounds like?
  15. One more time. Open lid. Push back with old pad.
  16. Neo head would get the compression up very nicely. Maybe too much but certainly worth looking into.
  17. Slipping clutch.
  18. That exhaust is unreal. Will be awesome to hear it.
  19. Just because certain cars have something is no reason that other cars can have it also. For example dual mode exhausts etc. As has been mentioned there would be a defect given way before the gear box was ever looked at, and in all seriousness I can't see a cop or roadworthy inspector checking the gearbox operation. They are likely to check the gear know has a shift pattern on it though, as that is a reasonably common defect. If it was me I would have a stock in ah knob on it.
  20. Yes I did, and at this stage another guy is interested in a pack including nistune, z32, coils, sway bar, r34gtt brakes etc... I will let you know if he doesn't come through with the cash.
  21. I dint think clutch will matter. Have to check allowances with wheels. Caliper adaptors would be a no. They would need to be engineered with a certificate. The safc could be hidden reasonably easily.
  22. It would have the stock tune though wouldn't it? Or else it wouldn't run... No need to be picky. As you have kindly pointed out the stock ecu can't be tuned. Potential buyers are now aware. Rest easy. You did good.
  23. They will check over everything. They know what they are looking for and will look for it. Therefore your car needs to be completely legal. Doesn't need stock exhaust but has to be be legal volume,so can restrict it and pack woth steel wool etc. Can't see first pic either. What mods does your car have aside from intercooler?
  24. This is the lamest wrap battle with ever.
