  1. The O2 sensor allows the ecu to control fuel.mixtures in closed loop at low load as you know. It also is used by the ecu for long term fuel trim , which is applied when in open loop. When the O2 sensor isn't working correctly the ecu runs as rich as it can (has been programmed for ) as a safety measure. Therefore regardless of what style driving you do, a non functioning o2 sensor will increase fuel usage.
  2. Leave it. Whoever said the compression is to high is silly.
  3. That typically doesn't come through the pcv. A catch can on its own would sort it
  4. On all cars you can simply add a catch can (seperator) onto the line returning to the pre turbo inlet. And leave everything else alone. The blowby doesn't go into the manifold through the pcv, as it's shut when under decent load, and under low load there should be very little blowby to worry about.
  5. Looks good. How hard a time is this engine looking forward to?
  6. My point is you might find you sacrifice alot of power as the comparison isn't like for like. I certainly agree running the smallest cam to make the power delivery you are after is the best option.
  7. But what about those cams all compared on a car with a decent exhaust? It's completely silly to compare to a restrictive exhaust, and unfair on larger duration cams.
  8. That's an interesting comparison but who uses a stock cat? That's holding back the bigger cams so not a true comparison in my opinion.
  9. I like the moke in the shed!
  10. No worries man. We are all happy to help. It's hard to get an idea of what people are really thinking on here! Keep on writing decent posts and people will always help. It's guys who write short, poorly written posts requesting help who are annoying! Car looks sweet. If you have access to to a mill use that for the hole positions to be sure.
  11. Pod filters would be a problem if not mounted correctly, bit for the sake of everything going smooth I would use a stock airbox (airbox nd keep using it) I have been through a full inspection with a crazy restrictor in my exhaust , so exhaust doesn't have to be stock, just quiet. Tint and boost controller for sure need to go. Like you said turbos are extremely ulikely to be picked, in which case they won't go looking for a different ecu ideally. Full inspection they check ecu. Good luck!
  12. If it is registered in another state the car doesn't require a full inspection, only Id check. However they do generally look for non standard items and won't let them through. So prepare for something a little less annoying than full inspection!
  13. Pmd re head, rather than claiming this as my for sale thread I will focus in reasons why the neo head is better. And another reason neo is better, no silly head drain ar the front as neo vct works better.
  14. You can't say you understand pcd and then ask the most fundamental basic of what it means. Pitch circle diameter. Any way, good luck with it. There's a formula for figuring out what to set calipers to scribe a circumference into equal segments. Can't remember it cos never had to use it, but it would help you. Even though like I said it should be done to Co ordinates or using a dividing head. I know a guy in holden hill who would charge stuff all to do it properly if you want.
  15. I was happy to ignore the .3 for now..... How far out of you think the studs can be out before it matters? I know the spigot takes the load, but realistically if the studs aren't all correctly on the pcd they will be getting flexed slightly sideways. No way would i simply scribe a circle and then drill for studs.
  16. Diameter is diameter. Based on your measuring method you don't understand what pcd is. Google it. Mark a 114 diameter circle and drill your holes on that. Seems pretty dodgy to me..I would prefer to use a mill with a digital read out or an indexing head, or a cnc .
  17. To run the neo head in an r33 you need to swap the cas wires and vct plug. I assume you would be using a tuneable ecu. Ps. I have a neo head already modded for use on an rb30 block (welded vct feed and coolant gallery built up for correct gasket seal, external vct feed line included) Noe head gives you much better compression, along with solid lifters, less oil up in the head.
  18. Don't rule out aussie manufacturers. I have found I have even able to get stuff made local cheaper than china, and to the correct quality standard. Mind you i might have got mates rates but never the less, give some local places a go and you might be surprised.
  19. That's a funny question. I would love to see how someone could convert to edit without changing the pump and regulator. And ecu. The O2 sensor has a big affect on consumption. Google it. Not big enough to explain this but easily 15 percent.
  20. I need to check that. I'm 99 percent sure he is using type b cams and has raved about them.
  21. Rb26 type a cams are split. 252 in 260 ex.
  22. Wow. WTF am I thinking about. ... I'm sure it was tomei. Oh well.
