  2. Gauge on the reg is fine. Scotty would be referring to setups using stock regs.
  3. Ok. Intermittent problems totally suck. The two things I would be looking at are the afm and the cas. Starting with the afm clean it, Google how to. You don't want to be buying parts at random, so ideally you could try a borrow a known working one before buying your own.
  4. Why not put a pressure gauge on? Then you will see the pressure drop, if there is one.
  5. That's what I have. Hypergear should be able to machine a hkusing to suit your turbo.

  7. I might be a able to split my .82 internal gate garret rear and dump pipe and actautor if the turbo doesnt sell complete. That would do what you want.

  9. The other problem with using the glass rb20 box is the extra weight of the car. So its good you got the rb20 cheap. But putting the 20 box in is really the troublesome thing, in that it creates more work for a box that will just break. (The rb20 will just be slow, so no harm done, but the box is weak and will likely break) How long would you have to wait it get the cash to buy an r33 box? During that time you could drop the engine in and get it running(just the engine, so whatever rewiring is required) Then box simply bolts in and you can chirp second and make whooshing noises past bus stops all day.
  10. Cam talk rules. Can go on forever and get nowhere fast. The one difference with double overhead cams is that overlap can be adjusted. So perhaps an aggressive na cam can be dialled back in to something more sensible with the turbo.

  12. It's either standard or not. Not pretty much standard . Time and time again people say their cars standard, and a few pages in we find out there's something not standard about it that causes the issue. I'm not being a dick. Are there any mods?

  14. You are running a different ecu right? Get ls coils. They are heaps cheap..increase dwell to 4 ms.

  17. Heaps of money in mig welders but no money for a shell or decent engine? Cool. Anyway you know your answer. The tails haft will need changing. So either shorten it or lengthen it when you do the conversion. You can do it. You told us.
  18. Corrosion isn't an issue. Can't tell if the bearings are fine via photos.
  19. Why bother? Walbro in tank pump would be the sensible option. The surge tank is a waste of time and money in your case.

  21. K. Good luck man. I assume you are using the inferior rb20 box as well? As using the stronger r33 box would actually fit (it comes in the car) and be stronger. Sounds rad. I've changed my mind. Now you've mentioned a different turbo a laggy rb20 in a boat would rule.
  22. Sort that out. That's critical. The O2 sensor is easily left out.
  23. You running a map ecu? Air temp is crucial to the tune.
