  1. Also I don't use octane booster, but how much is the "residue on plugs and engine" actually a problem. Also octane on its own doesn't make more power. Advancing timing or raising boost to make use of the octane makes more power.
  2. Ok. I will bite and be the first to call bs. But at the same time glad it appeared to work for you. Why did the afr's change the way they did?
  3. What about taking the wheel off, then bolting it back on backwards? That will make it stick out the guards. Might need some slight mods but I'm sur it's achievable.
  4. Fair enough. There's no real need to actually run the valve..its only there incase the filter gets so blocked it can't flow oil, which I'm sure you would never let it get that bad before servicing the car. The only thing is to make sure you get rid of all of the swarf caused by tapping it.
  5. It might not be all doom and gloom though. I think if you look into it the heat exchanger has the bypass valve in it, which is perhaps why the original owner hacked it out of the block. You "might" be able to just put the heat exchanger back on, but the piece of spring sitting there is concerning and will need to be dealt with. It's also an indication of the previous owners workmanship which is a shame.
  6. Sorry Luke, I get what you mean. My comment was in relation to op thinking that maybe the gearbox was straight cut. Typically if it is the seller would mention it as it's not a cheap exercise.
  7. Have never heard of a gearbox that did it's own straight cut upgrade. The whine is wear.
  8. Someone added the heat transfer block then. I'm pretty sure the thing they destroyed in the process(your photo) is the oil filter bypass valve (used when the filter is blocked to bypass it) I would pay carefully attention and see if you need to block it up or else you might be bypassing the oil filter now.
  9. Was that a patrol engine? The r31 and vl blocks don't have the heat exchanger at all.
  10. A walbro 255 will do it easily. And cheap as! And quiet.
  11. I was tested at an rbt. Chatted to the cop while waiting and he let me go before the results came back.....
  12. No way can the tps cause it to idle that high. Not possible. Have you checked the throttle returns fully all the time? Is your cable all frayed?
  13. There's no fuel small from a surge tank. Maybe your pump is tired?
  14. PM scotty nm35 He will sort you out.
  15. Good price. What model do they suit?
  16. It's also the law in oz. Like you say it can be sorted but the reality is its not really worth mucking around with one is oz just to cop a defect for it.
  17. Sweet! I have been waiting patiently for an update. I bet you are hanging to get it running!
  18. Haha. I remember that thread. Gold!
  19. He's a business man!
  20. In pretty sure a 40 will be fine. Considering that turbo is available internal gate.
  21. Good luck doing it in the car! Perhaps you could get away with undoing engine mounts and jacking it up but I doubt it.
  22. Sounds awesome.
  23. You give me a bell? What do I do with the bell? Sell it to make money? The Bell market is tough right now mann
  24. Surely you could use any cam to figure out how much you need to relieve the head by measuring the current clearance and factoring in higher lift....
