  1. And the "idle" cell in your timing map Isn't used unless the throttle is opened. When the throttle is closed it uses the idle control maps. For examole. Set 30 into the cell in use at idle and see what timing the power fc reports when the throttle is shut.
  2. Well I'm right. it is the timing the ecu Is putting out that you match. But of course I can't back my self up. Surely someone else can chime in. For example. The cell says 20. But there is an unknown warmup timing added. So the ecu puts outs say 25. You set it to 25 cos that's what the ecu thinks it is running. It's not hard. The reason for disconnecting the tps with the factory ecu is that at the correct idle it WILL default to 15 degrees for setting the timing. It's a maintenance function built into the ecu.
  3. And nine of that really matters setting the timing when you can monitor what timing the ecu Is running. For example, a consult cable and ecu talk or nistune, or in Rons case the hand controller. Hot, cold, tps plugged in, revving higher, whatever. Match the cas to the timing being used by the ecu. Displayed in monitor mode.
  4. Should feel dog because it's a dog move
  5. You are basing your car choice on keeping up with your mates car. That's funny.
  6. Don't match the cell! Match the displayed timing in use!
  7. Have to race my mate. Lol.
  8. Im not talking about looking at maps at all. You need to look at the timing the power fc is putting out. For example as yo u said it can show 2 cells at once. It doesn't for examole just jump from one set at 35 to the next one set at 20 either. It interpolates between the 2. So it might be putting out anywhere in between the two cells. So you looking at the maps is not helpful. Just like the power fc can display the afm voltage, surely it can display the actual timing it is running at that point. NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MAPS!
  9. So the cas is meant to match that.... And it doesn't matter it the plug is connected or not! Surely you get that by now. All that has to happen is the cas has to match the timing being displayed in the PFC. The fact you mention it does matter in your case if the tps is connected or not goes to show you are still struggling with it. Eg Tps plugged in PFC says 15 degrees, set cas to 15 Tps unplugged PFC says 20, set cas to 20.
  10. Or a full manual valve body.
  11. You don't need to access the idle maps. Technically you don't need to disconnect the tps. All you have to do is look at what timing the power fc is putting out and match the cas to that. Unplugging the tps just stops the timing fluctuating (ecu maintaining correct idle speed) to make it easier . Surely the fancy hand controller that has been totally useless up untill now can do that? Isn't an option in the monitor section? Like I suggested a few times already
  12. worst group buy ever?
  13. Ron, have you actually matched the timing being displayed on the power fc in monitor mode to the timing you are setting yet? Like you are meant to. Or is 20 degrees just a random setting?
  14. What car do you have?
  15. Suprused you would buy a link and run a shit cat.
  16. A few drips on on the driveway won't drop the sump level enough to notice. So no point looking for the dipstick anymore.
  17. What do you service if only now you need to find the dipstick?
  18. His left or the cars left?
  19. In the engine bay. Coming out of the block. Inlet manifold side. How much and what type of oil do you plan on pouring into the engine? Do you know where to pour it?
  20. That depends on alot of things like injectors and engine mods etc.
  21. No. The O2 sensor just trims the fuel.for slight changes over time. If It was just tuned it should be fine .
  22. It's always going to be weird going back and criticising their tune. They can make all kinds of excuses etc. Ask if they feel it's a reasonable and comparable power figure and consumption. If they have any idea why consumptions so high. If they have any concerns or suggestions regarding your car. You can't just go in and hammer them and expect them to somehow whip out an awesome tune.
  23. Do engines feel pain? Who cares . Boost off into the sunset. Or stall. Whatever.
  24. Why's that funny? It would be interpolating between the two.
