  1. Either way it's poor economy (got worse by his own measurements, flawed ot not) and poor power. Lose lose.
  2. Wow. Trying a standard turbo? What not just buy a stock car in the first place? Why not try a hypergear high flow that are proven to work?
  3. Also noticed your post in the rb26 dyno thread. 165 kw at 14psi.... I would go somewhere else for a tune.
  4. That is terrible consumption. As its a map sensor ecu, a boost leak wouldn't affect the tune, so it really sounds like it's running way too rich due to a poor tune. The fact you picked it up the first time with drivability issues is a warning sign, and the tune still seems bad. Ad GTSBoy said you should be able yo get better consumption with a properly tuned ecu. Your options are take it back for fora third shot, go somewhere else, or get a wideband and tune it yourself (just the low load and cruise areas).
  5. So fix that and check for boost leaks by pressure testing.
  6. How did you clean out the cat?
  7. Wow. Very lucky!
  8. To seperate the banks and use one reg wouldn't it go Pump > rail> non return > tee piece to common reg on both sides? Pretty easy.
  9. Normally you would have noises and stuff inspected by someone knowledgeable before handing over the cash.... I hope it is something simple and easily fixed.
  10. Home honing is not good. Especially with the ball style tool as it just conforms to the bore rather than trueing it up. Definitely worth paying for a hone, and as 89CAL said, if using an MLS gasket you really should have the deck faced to suit.
  11. Depends what file and how good you are with a file doesn't it! But fair call, a beginner with a bastard file could make a real mess of it.
  12. It is very likely that the turbo side is ok. The lines are quite soft. You can easily file then stone that damage out, or just replace it.
  13. The taper does the sealing so no extra sealant required on that end. On the parallel end a washer would be nice. Or you can use thread tape.
  14. Hard to say how rough you have to be to damage the surfaces.
  15. Rb don't have the same restrictors setup as vq's do. It is in the line in an rb, easily replaced.
  16. Any tool shop or probably bunnings. Get a "pocket stone" they are about 60x20x12mmm and are very handy for tidying up faces. Also use full for sharpening knives etc.
  17. By reinforce the car I hope you mean the floor pan.
  18. What comp wheel? There's heaps of wheels available for a gt30.
  19. Kinked return line makes perfect sense.
  20. I doubt he has one or else he wouldn't ask how to do it
