  1. If buying the turbo will have other consequences such as world peace or three wishes etc the answer is yes you should buy it. If you like taking risks to maybe save money then yes buy it. If you like to put on and take off turbos just to see if they are actually rooted then yes buy it.
  2. Aren't you affiliated with them? If so you should really point it out when recommending something.
  3. Best for what? Flow? Efficiency Wank factor Price Getting all teh girls
  4. Assuming you replaced plugs woth the same type and gap I would suspect the coil pack loom They get brittle and can stuff up after being disturbed. Seeing as your coils don't help it points more towards the loom.
  5. Add brakes and hubs etc to your list if you choose to ignore the sensible advice above.
  6. No way would you rebuild a working engine. Boost it hard and slowly plan a build that might never happen.
  7. Haha I'm not trying to stir shit. I'm pointing out that it's common knowledge that the other coils can have issues with high dwell. Now it appears these LS3 coils don't have the same problem. Not that that means I trust his experience with my engine, I still keep the dwell to 4 or below.
  8. Right. How much effort is it really? A little wiring and some brackets.... I have done my research and had already done the conversion using those coils status mentioned. I don't need the most powerful coils ever, neither do you probably. Your right, he doesn't mention the D585 coils. He does however say the ones linked do not have the dwell limiting problem that the other coils have. Quote: Lots of testing has been done on all the variants and this one does not false fire (effectively uncontrolled added advance) at higher dwell levels like the others. Seems like the sensible choice. Even if it's not the most powerful.
  9. Did you read the link I posted? 280 bucks for 8 brand new and have made 1000rwhp. Seems ok to me. And don't have the dwell issues.
  10. The looms are hard to check as they fail intermittently due to dodgy cracked connectors etc. I would say amayama would be cheapest for coils, but as you are selling it I wouldn't bother buying new. Where are you located? I have some yellow jacket coils laying around you can try and if they work buy them for cheap.
  11. Yes. http://forum.nistune.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2423&sid=5af4ed3fce4bc8b76abfbce93cc0eda8&start=30 Read status' s post towards the bottom regarding which coils to get and why.
  12. Stock panel filter is perfectly fine to make alot of power through. Like 3 times the power an na will make so save your cash. The best coils are genuine nissan ones. Then split fire. Might not actually be the coils though, it could be the loom.
  13. Check for vacuum leaks. Easiest way is by pressure testing. Then you can hear the leak and spray soapy water if needed to make it even easier to find. Have you ever checked the timing?
  14. There is a whole heap of faeces, excrement, poop and shit involved in the system. And some other crap. For your benefit GTSBoy kept it simple.
  15. Either way. I have said it before and will say it again. Pressure test. You will be surprised what you find. And it's easy. And cheap. Then if it's not that it's time to replace gaskets etc.
  16. I use the left foot to wedge my right foot up. I assumed that's what he meant
  17. Oh. That sucks to hear man. I would still get in touch with the previous owner to let him know you are pissed. ....
  18. Mv have an electronic box of some description that will allow the trans to work, can't remember if it makes it manualised though.
  19. For everyone else's benefit. .... Even if you are not 100% sure that you don't have a boost leak, pressure test anyway. You will be glad you did.
  20. Yep. Exactly as Badgaz said. Something to condsider though is the factory knock sensors are old and probably crapped out. I certainly wouldnt rely on them. A benefit of Nistune is it looks stock, and retains all of the nice things the stock ecu does (cold start etc)
  21. From what I understand they are slightly different. Ring a wrecker and ask them. Or go there and look at them.
  22. Revving like that isnt caused by the IAC. Its more than likely the throttle got stuck. Which seriously needs to be addressed before you go much further. And looking for leaks isnt the same as pressure testing for leaks. I strongly recommend you pressure test to find leaks. You will be surprised.
