  1. And having said that I thought r35 coils had higher dwell than rb25 coils anyway. What dwell are you running?
  2. Different coils have different dwell requirements. Changing to a cool that needs a lower dwell and not changing dwell settings to suit means you can very easily give a coil too much dwell. This will overheat and kill the coils. Makes sense they won't refund you, it's not a coil issue if you have been using too much dwell What dwell did golebys say to use?
  3. Everyone is happy when nothing actually happens. Can you please crash your csr and report back. I ma genuinely curious and don't want to do it myself Thanks.
  4. Is it an auto? Is it turbo? Swap in an ls3 with matching manual box. Sell rb25 for way too much money. Do skids
  5. 0.6mm bro, 0.06mm is not cool! Yes gapping plugs down is reccomemend if coils aren't powerful enough
  6. The price of old cars varies according to their condition, which also varies, from mint to completely rusted price of crap.
  7. Think of it as enlarging an existing hole to improve braking and therefore safety of the car. Im 100 percent sure slightly enlarging a hole isnt the worst thing that's happened to/going to happen to the car!
  8. That's assuming we dont keep posting in here to keep it on top
  9. Car looks like it will be nice when done. I have to admit it is a it funny initially you were asking if rb25s were reliable then you go and buy a gtr that's had a hard time. Take your time and learn before doing things, there's no rush
  10. What are you on about with 33s never being sold in RHD market?
  11. Is this for dicks?
  12. -40? What the actual f**k! How do you function at all? I go to shit if it gets down to plus 10!
  13. But an rb25 is such a good engine with so many tuning options (if you ignore the heap of newer and better and cheaper options)
  14. Tell your dad to get f**ked then just buy it. Oh wait it's not your money, got it. Well you can't buy it, poor guy, your dad won't let you. Waaaah
  15. I am sure someone will somehow find this info slightly useful.
  16. Wow. So it still overboosts and behaves like sshit with the ported waste gate. Why would you bother?
  17. If you cant afford it you can't buy it. Pretty simple dude. Sure as hell no 1000hp build happening when you can't afford to buy it.
  18. I like to think future Ben isn't a dickhead but track record is not promising 😎
  19. no way are you going to be torquing it to double, thats either going to stretch and yield the bolt best case, or pull the crank thread out (thats bad) I agree the intial issue is likely caused by not having crank bolt tight enough. Plenty of engines dont have key on the crankshaft at all. if it was me, and I didnt want to do it properly I would lean in on the dodginess and loctite the balancer on. Then in the future hate myself but thats future Ben's problem.
  20. just tell them you did the studs! problem solved. Seriously though, i would replace one by one with head on if moving to studs on a healthy engine.
  21. You need to weld onto the headers threaded bosses and screw into that with a small bolt with large head through the wrap. Then you may as well make a hard heat shield that bolts on.
  22. As if you didn't open the box! What kind of crazy self control do you have!
  23. Doing things to be different or unique always ends up being fairly pointless and a wild waste of money. Yes ls engines are common, for a reason. You have to spend heaps of cash on a 304 to make decent power, and what have you really achieved? Your engine swap between two cars makes so little sense, just leave the engines in the cars they are already in and use the time and effort on something productive. That's my 2 cents that you didn't ask for.
