  1. I left out the one under the inlet manifold no worries. Obviously they are there for a reason, so you are kind of taking a chance, but it's a chance I'm willing to take!
  2. There's a huge thread about guys having issues with ross balancers. Spat power steering belt with ross balancer. or somethibg like tgat is the title
  3. stock 30e pump. Shimmed with a washer or two, cant remember but I had a target thickness. I think Simon-s14 helped me out there, he is also using a shimmed rb30e pump (26 head) in a drift car. Maybe ask him if he remembers. Never actually checked oil pressure though....
  4. I used the stock pump, shimmed to bump up the pressure. I blocked one oil feed to the head, which makes it flow nearly identical amount of oil as a neo block, as the neo block had 2 1.5 feeds and the rb30 has 2 2mm.(based on surface area 1 2mm works out very close to 2 1.5 holes) Normal external vct feed, as per pdf. Theres no real trick with the neo head, the main difference is the smaller combustion chamber which will result in higher comp than a non neo head, which is what you want.
  5. That's unreal. How do they actually do it?
  6. I would use the nissan one for sure.
  7. And don't get too caught up in the ks on the odo. jap cars pretty much all have then wound back, so pick one that is in best condition, not lowest ks.
  8. The turbo feed? It's the same as rb25, but can't remember that either!
  9. Did you look at Tangles car? That's a bargain.
  10. What Extra Info are you expecting from guys looking at the photos. Cars always look good in photos. There is a buyers guide stickied that has all the info. Go look at the car.
  11. Aside from being a lazy way of posting an add, is against the forum rules. Do everyone a favour and copy and paste it into this thread.
  12. You have huge issues if you lost a litre in one day. Rebuild time.
  13. was waiting for GTSBoys response. Was not disappointed.
  14. edut. Just noticed 2 posts above mine already said ut!
  15. Not exactly what you are asking, but a neo compressor bolts onto and rb30 block, so I would guess they are all the same.
  16. How were the head bolts replaced? With the head still on or using a new head gasket?
  17. Cos you can't see damaged ringlands or worn rings. I seriously doubt it's a scored bore. And anyway, he had the head off so had seen the condition of the bores.
  18. I wouldn't worry about a comp test. It will just show up if you are on borrowed time, which technically you are until you do a full rebuild, and it's not like you will do that as a precautionary measure. Boost it up, hope for best, but to be sure start planning an engine build in the mean time.
  19. Cam timing is also affected when the head and block are skimmed , as the distance is shorter the timing is retarded.
  20. True, it would fold like really expensive paper. I wouldn't want to handle it either.
  21. I don't think you could get any mls gasket thinner than that. Only option would be a copper gasket, you can get them in .5mm but would likely have to be custom and not worth the trouble. Not sure in clearance, I would guess and say it's ok as you are still using stock cams, but I would double check when assembling.
  22. The actual drive in the cam wears out so replacing the cas won't fix it. Only way to fully fix it is new cam . Did you clean out all the pipework and intercooler of the oil from dud turbo?
  23. magdady. WTF. ...
  24. They are cold numbers though. warm it up and do it again. Smoking a bit won't kill the engine.
