the heat soak is my main concern. I know drag cars do it, but they are hardly on so not a good reference!
As for the fuel pressure benefit, I dont think that is really an issue is it? Any half decent ecu can compensate for fuel pressure with a sensor (that you would surely run) if there is some discrepancy.
I imagine you have a flex sensor? they measure fuel temp also so depending where it is mounted you will tell if there is a heat soak impact of having the surge tank in the engine bay.
I get it makes for good use of space, but it does seem a bit bad in a crash.....
