That leaves you up shit Creek at this point. The fact the previous owner has done some funky wiring is going to make it very difficult for an Internet diagnosis.
When checking for spark you beed to have the thread of the spark plug touching the metal of the engine. then turn cas .
How do you know it's getting fuel?
You can take the cas off and spin by hand with ignition on and listen for injectors clicking.
If the ecu is running injectors check that there is 12v at the coils, cant remember which one.
search how to get fault codes from ecu. Just need a paper clip to bridge some wires in a plug. chances are it will tell you something.
Yeah, you would have no hope of just wiping some sealant on the outside of it.
I always use some sealant when installing then though, just to make site they don't leak.
Isnt it called p100? As in premium 100 octane?
And there's nothing wrong with it, I use it and have never had a problem. heaps of people use it.
Don't blame the fuel for your crusty fuel lines! As Scotty mentioned it will clean out all the crap in your lines.
Take off the cas and turn it by hand with ignition on. should be able to hear the injectors firing, and pull a coilpack off abd check for spark at the same time . They should give you more info as to what the prob us.
Ive replaced valve stem seals with head still on a few cars usibg comoressed air to hold valve up.
I dont think I would try on an rb25 though as the problem is levering the spring down to get the retainer off, the valves are sort of deep and not sure where ti lever from.
There is a heaps expensive tool to remove the retainers that you hit with a hammer, that would be perfect, but hard to justify.
Of course it's related to wetting the engine.
coukd be any number of plugs that are wet, because I dont know how crazy you went with the water!
things to check would be watee around coil packs and the large electrical plugs.
I have had a problem using them with a dodgy bit of pipework. I was in a rush and didnt weld a lip onto a piece of pipe and it blew off at 20psi . Those clamps are heaps better, but not going to fix other issues.
