  1. Ahh, that makes sense. All the best getting it sorted.
  2. link doesn't work. On the blue plate it had the paint code, trim code, engine, diff and trans info. The trans on my car (rs s2) is re401b . look for a number similar to thwt on your plate then tell mike what it says.
  3. Why didn't he just do that instead of sending it back on a truck? That's kinda annoying that he knew it was something simple but didn't do it.
  4. hyper gear high flow is a proper high flow!
  5. ahh k. So who gives a crap if it's not there? Surely that's not a roadworthy item?
  6. And wtf is the exhaust earth strap?
  7. Well, they are correct about rotor minimum thicknesses, but some of those prices are crazy! Replacing the rocker cover gaskets couldn't take longer than an hour of you had no clue, so the 160 labour they want to charge is nuts. Also the head light resurface? I have rubbed toothpaste on mine with a rag and they came up sweet, and recently used some Mcguires scratch x (for paint scratches) and my headlights look as new. also pretty weird to just replace one shocker.
  8. Notice GTSBoy called it a vent not a drain? Cos it is a vent!
  9. Lube it up!
  10. I am using ls1 coils, you can get them cheap as. You have to bump up the dwell to make them work correctly (they will not work properly at stock dwell, they will cause a miss). Obviously aftermarket management, including nistune allows you to do it.
  11. Yeah I know what you mean, I have seen a unit to reprogram the amount of ks but it was around 600 bucks so it's not like you would buy one. And it's not like dodgy compliance places would admit to having one! Get in touch with a auto electrician, and there was a speedo repair place in adelaide, try to fibd one of them
  12. Well it's definitely possible, how do you think all the import cars have low k's
  13. Surely it has a party number on it , or a brand, then Google it
  14. Well if it was me I would be checking tht after you weld it it does actually get oil supplied to the front bearing, easy to do with some compressed air. An easy check to prevent a serious problem, and if it doesnt get lube drill out the plug like in the thread, easy fixed!
  15. Not sure if this really is an issue or not, as it's not my first hand knowledge, but when talking to my machinist when welding up my vct feed, he mentioned pre neo rb25s use that feed to lube the front cam bearing and that he has seen a bearing destroyed as a result of just blocking up the feed. (neo head vct is different) If you look at this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/251669-rb2530-rb30det-vvt-internal-oil-control/ the photos half way down show what I am talking about.
  16. I chucked my stock exhaust a few months ago! You can make a decent flowing exhaust quiet with the right type of mufflers, mine has no cat and 3 inch whole way, one Hooker aero chamber and a berklee straight through at the rear. makes qround 300rwkw and tests at 87db at 3000rpm so its legal. the mufflers cost around 250 foe both from memory, just get them put in.
  17. Yep, easiest and cheapest way to unlock max boost, pull off wastegate line. (seeing as you got fairly confused about the manifold thing, that is a joke)
  18. Are you talking about the stock manifold? It's as short as it gets, have a look at it! And it's not like you would hack up a high mount manifold to try and shorten it.
  19. shorten what manifold? And how? I'm going to say not worth it, no way
  20. Remove the coolant plug on the block
