Head gasket thickness is crucial on a built engine especially with a positive deck height. I wouldn't have put a thinner one on but I don't think that would actually cause the valves to hit. Have you triple checked the cam timing?
The boost controller can't drop the boost any lower than wastegate pressure, which also can't be zero so can't be that. Look into your intake pipe. I know you said it was modified, but that closing shut would do what you describe.
even though that's a detailed description only you can find the leak. degrease it all and look for it. I wouldn't go to enzed unless you want to pay a fortune. Surely you could just get one that looks good from a wrecker. u pull it in adelaide sell complete power steering setups including rack for around 200 from memory.
I would guess and say earlier ones would fit. I doubt they would have changed anything ( based on the rb30 power steering bracket is the same for a neo pump)
Can't see thread tags on phone.
It's my understanding that you should not let a new cam idle, it should be run at around 2000rpm for 20 minutes to run it in. Not sure what Tomei recommend.
nooooo. due to the heaps different profile of the solid lifter r34 cams they wouldn't be suitable with hydraulic lifters.
fitting in and working are 2 very different things. ....
old cars (heaps old) had no water pump. The water does move through the block and radiator by thermo siphon. It also doesn't heat up as quick as you think, think about drag cars with no radiators.
I would drive out a little with out the belt. It won't instantly overheat, the coolant will still thermo siphon through the engine/radiator.
Anyway doesn't sound like it is the belt anyway. Good luck sussing it.
an after market gauge will just be more accurate. And might not fix your problem, especially if nothing is wrong with your gauge and you actually have an oil pressure problem.
Can you explain how your car is running "sluggish"?
While the head is out though I would just tidy up the exhaust ports. The huge lump around the stud is easy to grind off. how much difference it makes, don't know, but won't hurt it.
