  1. Actually something else to consider is the dwell the coils require. If you arent supplying the correct dwell, the coil wont be operating at its optimum, meaning when it craps out just a little it really craps out, if that makes sense, I did an LS2 coil conversion, and with stock dwell it would misfire on boost (18psi) with brand new coils. Once dwell was adjusted with Nistune, miss went away.
  2. Sounds like coils dude. When they crap out it is under boost. when you say tested already what do you mean? just seeing if they spark? That's not enough to confirm they are working under boost/ higher revs. You need to swap them out with known good ones.
  3. what's the deal with spark plug leads on a stock rb20? what coils are you using?
  4. the OP.seems odd that a mechanic would take his car to a mechanic.... Also the fact he wasn't sure if it could have been fuel pump, which is heaps easy to diagnose. Anyway, hope he sorts it.
  5. search diagnostic mode. don't buy the cable
  6. also, seeing as it only gets hot when the engine us under more stress, its extremely unlikely that its the sender reading wrong.
  7. are you really a mechanic?
  8. There are two sensors, but one is for the gauge and one is for the ecu.
  9. he said he has had the cas off and not checked the timing...... This seems like a lost cause. Good luck dude.
  10. What are you basing that statement on about the boost rise? I'm going to assume not from experience....... Anyway, you will soon find out.
  11. No leather or sunroofs, and rwd only. Been meaning to get it on a weighbridge and see what it weighs. Was good to talk to you too, cant wait to see more stageas out there!
  12. So you bought it with an existing issue that started once the inlet manifold was removed, and rather than check that straight away you create a vague thread about the issue.... Seriously dude, why start the thread, check the f**king inlet manifold like you thought was the problem all along.
  13. I went 12.7 at 114, 2.1 60ft on crappy Chinese tyres. Silver stag with roof racks.
  14. If you have no idea about anything, paying someone an hour labour to fix the problem is not expensive. Or you can f**k around for ages and make a ness of it yourself
  15. you have already been told to inspect/tape up coil packs and change plugs What advice do you want? What do you think is under the cover. while changing spark plugs?? There are coils and spark plugs. Thats all you can check there.. Is that suprising??
  16. could be anything. When you hooked up the turbo timer, how did you manage that without knowing what the plug did?
  17. sucking in air around throttle body.... no. the issue is happening on boost.
  18. take it somewhere that knows what they are doing. You have been told heaps of times possible causes and still have done nothing.
  19. what? so if the tuner knows what earth is missing why can't they just fix it? Normally the head f**k with issues is finding them, so what's the problem here?
  20. looks like what I bought. I have the sane concerns as you, it has made decent power on the dyno, but still makes me wonder..
  21. i'm going to guess based on the post is 5 years old, and the guy hasn't been on here since then, your not going to hear from him....
  22. no shit about the placebo effect! I would seriously doubt a fuel filter change would make any difference at idle, when the fuel requirements are at their lowest.....
