  1. so what was it?
  2. not sure on your thoughts there man, radiator hose has fibres reinforcing it,i doubt the petrol would dissolve them. Also, that is some freaky stuff with the current draw getting higher with more voltage, really can't get my head around that....
  3. Dude, it is so easy.... One end of can attaced to rocker cover , other to plenum. this photo shows the hose that is replaced, the catch can hoses go here. when you take that hose off, attach the catch can hoses to the two spots. that is where the blowby that might have oil mist in it gets sucked into the engine, so that is where the catch can has to go to catch it! If you are still confused, I can't help you !
  4. Just take off existing breather pipe that goes from rocker to plenum, and add catch can inbetween. simples. Or better yet, dont worry about it and sell it.
  5. Amy more info on the causing motors to seize?
  6. +1watts=volts x amps watts are constant. higher volts = less amp draw.
  7. No, you will melt your wiring. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/423664-melted-connector-plug-due-to-larger-in-tank-pump-pics/?fromsearch=1
  8. what???It still fits in the same amount of fuel its just that the intake was higher so couldn't use it. That would mean your awesome method of going fast (light weight) would mean you can only access 1/4 of a tank. And sorry to burst your bubble, but a 50kg weight saving is worth 0.1 seconds at the drags. You might as well fill your tank up man.
  9. dude, this thread is from 2010¡!
  10. Only you know what oil you are using, not us, so how could we comment on that? Also, the light coming on under braking is due to the oil level, not type. Check the level!
  11. It looks like a nice car, just drive it and enjoy it as it is. You will find out very quickly a rebuild well cost way too much for the benefit.
  12. locksmiths can easily re key locks.
  13. The ignition switch is the ignition barrel. Replace that.
  14. What? Dropping the boost won't make it run rich. if it is tuned for 17, it can obviously run 12, because it would have been with part throttle. The afm will read the airflow and add the correct amount of fuel, less boost, less afm voltage, less fuel.
  15. The fact it was on a turbo diesel doesn't really mean it well work on a turbo petrol car. Diesels have no throttle butterfly and therfore produce no manifold vacuum. They use a vacuum pump to make the power brakes work. Anyway, tginking about it, vls had a vacuum caniater to store vacuum, and didnt really boost much when cruising, but an rb25 at highway speeds would produce boost when altering speed, so not sure if it would work correctly. They seem heaps expensive for what they are.
  16. Wow, good thing you spotted that!
  17. There is no o oxygen in the tank for an explosion to occur, but I would definitely sort that out. Good practice is staggering the connections so they can't touch each other. Do a search on pump types. There are heaps of different types, but typically a high pressure pump can't suck much. (like a turbo can't such much, its a pump)
  18. Replied. That was quick, you got a bargain!
  19. Hang on.... So the head is warped. If you plan on straightening it by just milling the face, the cam shaft wont fit correctly as the tunnel would also be warped. If you anticipate the comp will rise significantly by machining the head to straighten it, it would definitively not be consistent across the cylinders, as the warp means more material will be removed from certain areas. Anyway, all the best with the build, it's certainly something different
  20. I purchased these before getting my car dyno'd as I dindt want any spark issues, and when I went to fit them, I found some already installed! (previous owner mentioned nothing about them, and stupid coil cover hiding them from me!) Anyway, had car tuned, made 274rwkw so all is good with my current coils, so didnt fit these. One has been taken out of the box as seen in the photo. I paid 380 for them so, I think 320 posted is fair, 300 pickup if you are in Adelaide. Cheers Ben
  21. Just going to chuck it out there, I seriously doubt anyone would have that info,, as for 99.999% of people, it is totally useless.
  22. That would work, but amazingly slow. If you had a 400lph pump, that would pump 100mL a second......and still not fully drain the tank of all fuel like ops initial post.
  23. It is progressive based on the coolant temp sensor. The one with 2 wires is used by the ecu. It doesn't just reach a certain temp and instantly "switch" to another map.
