  1. When an engine is built, critical tolerances are measured, including bore to piston clearance. If your engine was assembled with that out of spec, I would run as fast as possible from that guy!
  2. Cheers guys. I was aware of the extra current draw, but I suppose I was just hoping for the best I have already wired it directly to the battery , cant remember the size but it was definitely suitable. i am going to get some epoxy tomorrow, (after I check to see if I already have some) and a decent connector. Was planning on drilling out the existing socket to run the wires through there, that way the epoxy can pool up in the recess nicely
  3. Hi all A few weeks ago I installed an E85 Walbro 460lph pump, directly fed from battery, and had car tuned. When pump was installed, I was surprised how quiet it was. Over the last few days I noticed it become slightly louder, nothing serious, but thought it was a little strange. Drove home from work, all good, went to move car and no go. Could hear fuel pump not pumping, but could hear relays clicking. Pretty pumped that it decided not to go while I was at home and didn't need to go anywhere! Checked all wiring, and power was being supplied to the pump. I still had the old pump so decided to swap it over so I could drive the car. When I pulled out the pump I noticed the plug going to the fuel tank lid was melted, along with the plug underneath going to the pump. This is the reason the pump was not working, confirmed with a multi meter. I still refitted old pump as I am now worried about current draw. The plug/socket that has melted has now actually got a leak to the fuel tank, which is an issue! This is in a Stagea, not sure if the tank is similar to Skylines. I have searched but not found anything. Now I am wondering what to do. I need to buy a new lid, and don't really want to run an external pump. Maybe it was just a freak occurrence and wont happen again (dirty plug?) I have considered modifying the damaged lid and running thick gauge cables through directly and epoxying them in, but not sure how it would go with the fuel. So my current options are 1- Replace damaged bits and hope it doesn't happen again. 2- Run an external pump 3- modify lid to accept larger cables. I am open to any suggestions / comments Cheers, Ben EDIT Noticed there are heaps of fuel safe epoxies. I think I will go for option 3 Pics, didnt take a pic of the internal plug.
  4. Well i would be getting out sorted asap. Goes to show you can't cheap out on a rebuild, ends up choosing mire doing it twice. What about the other parts you claim are pretty much new? Maybe revisit those when its apart the second time.
  5. easy tiger,I don't wax or seal my car, so there's nothing to strip.
  6. No need for name calling... So we could assume the coils have improved, as there are plenty of people making 250+ with yellow jackets. At the end of the day,i don't care. the coils were on the car when I bought it, and I will be going to ls coils as they are clearly heaps better. But I seriously doubt I would make more power as there is no issue currently.
  7. it says it on the container its recommended to wash cars.
  8. it is heaps good washing car. That's what I use.
  9. in the stagea section there is a tutorial on how to bypass the boost cut, the Guy just disconnects the hose going to the sensor. I am reasonably sore it has no effect on afr.
  10. Sorry that came across a bit harsh. Fair point, but when a combo makes the expected power, and comparable to others, I dont believe im losing out on any power. The people that pick up power are doing so because their old coils werent working properly. Actually losing lower by changing coils (unless the new coils are faulty) hasnt been proven. There are back to back tests that show there is no power to be had by replacing functioning coils with another brand. im not willing to do my own back to back test, but I will have a set of yellow jackets available soon, as I am going to use ls1 coils I got for nothing. If anyone wants them, they can have them so long as they do a back to back test when installing them. Ben
  11. oh, so a random Guy with a low power setup claims such massive differences with no dyno proof, and that means somehow I am losing heaps off power to a non existant coil issue? cool -__-
  12. Try it and report back. maybe the mechanics you asked were full of shit.
  13. SEARCH for nistune . read. see how many people make way more power than you will ever make, using nistune.
  14. dude, heaps of people make twice your power with yellow jackets. I am making 274rwkw with them. explain how that can happen if they are so shit?
  15. yep, that would do it! and btw, its OD
  16. I'm pretty sure he meant Inner Diameter
  17. chemtech ct18 its the best stuff ever. It is a detergent based degreaser. You duke it and spray it on, the longer you leave it the better it works. Doesn't harm anything. Anyone who uses it is amazed. I wash mountain bikes/motorbikes/cars anything with it. It rules!
  18. Had a few lowball offers..... surely someone wants some more power!

  21. Part of the problem with Highflow turbos is they are a bit of a lucky dip, unless you can see previous proven results. If you have a peak at the Hypergear thread you can see how much R and D Stao has put into his range. I assume the supplier hasn't done one like this before, and you are a bit of a guinnea pig. It does seem like a huge turbine for the stock housing. I am sure Stao would be able to help out, but I notice you are in Canada, so a bit far away. Maybe if you ask him nicely he might point you in the right direction.
  22. could you elaborate? how did it snap?
  23. Bit of an impulse buy, I purchased the following kit. http://classifieds.n...entry2088166372 After a rethink I have decided it's not right for my daily Stagea, and have decided to sell it. It is now located in SA, pick up welcome or postage at buyers expense. I imagine less than 20 to post anywhere in Aus. More pics can be arranged, but it is brand new, never installed. Its the CM7 nozzle. LOCATION: Fairview Park, SA POSTAGE: Send Australia wide at buyers exspense. PRICE: $350ono EDIT: Happy to take Paypal
  24. Well, I bought it, but after a rethink the money will lbe better spent on an EBC. So it's for sale , check the FS section.
