RB20de parts on RB20e?
Ben C34 replied to NedethAnswers's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Why? What's wrong with your inlet manifold? Do you have a turbo? -
Actually if you arent going to thrash it why buy it?
-
It will break and cost heaps of money. Dont buy it if you are after reliable miles mate.
-
You take it to a crash shop and pay the money.....
-
The whole " tow anything with anything" approach only works for so long. If something goes wrong it is bad all round. You really need the whole setup to be properly rated or you are risking a lot.

rb25 wastegate issues
Ben C34 replied to Prof_Finesser's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I would also be careful putting compressed air to the actuator, at a guess that was fairly high pressure. Was it regulated to around 10 psi? -

That's normal -
I find it incredible your mate who doesn't know shit from anything would just have a crack adjusting random things. Driving with no MAP line connected on an ecu that uses MAP as load source is insane. I would slap him.

Speedo WTF?! Theories please

Were you? Typically these threads end up in a wild goose chase then information like that comes out at the end that explains it all. -
frustrating fuel pressure issue
Ben C34 replied to damnonrs's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The dampener would do nothing if after the regulator. What would it dampen? Taking the vac line off the reg at idle MUST show an increase in pressure. That's how referenced regulators work mate. If it's not doing that it isn't working. Or you have the vac source plumbed wrong. Can you feel a suction on the vac line when disconnected at idle? -
Expansion tank empty is concerning, and to me pretty much a deal breaker unless you can see where it is leaking and its an easy fix.
-
How long have they owned it? It's an 18 yr old car with questionable history that's not cheap. Hope that puts it in perspective.
-
How are you checking/ setting ignition timing? There are a few ways to get it wrong that I can think of .
-
Also if another ecu had the same issue that says the ecu is fine. The suggestion to use a manual ecu and shift yourself is laughable. It won't work. It will stay in 3rd gear.
-
Perhaps you are setting/ checking the timing wrong. Perhaps the cam timing is wrong. How have you determined the ecu is the problem?

Exhaust system for laurel c35 1999
Ben C34 replied to Thatlaurel's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Are you trying to manifest an exhaust? -
Put it there. It will make zero difference if a little bit closer, not worth thinking about.

Can you elaborate on that? Any photos? Stock wheels or others? It makes no sense. -
