  1. I use the stainless coarse pot scourers. I wouldn't think rust would be an issue though as it is going to get coated in an oil mist.
  2. That first picture is a bleed valve, the top line goes back to the in front of the turbo, between AFM and turbos, so as to not bleed air to atmosphere (which is not ok from an emissions point of view).
  3. They aren't orings, don't actullay knoW what the name Of that seal is. The suggested way to get the seals out varies between stab and lever out to screw in a screw and pull out. Being careful not to scratch stuff up of course. I rate it 2/10 on the home mechanic difficulty scale, which is completely in my head and made up on the spot.
  4. That's good Enough for me.
  5. I've read that twice and can't make sense of it..
  6. Yep, all off. It sucks! Make sure you do crank seal while in there, and should do can seals also..
  7. cam timing does impact compression test readings. i would definitley be doing the test hot to see how it goes. just thrash it, unless there is an actual problem. if the comp test is low but all seems well whats the problem?
  8. it cant be too much vacuum to the motor because for one, the catch can is vented to atmosphere. if you have a lot of blowby that is as sign of engine condition. a motor cant pull so much vaccum that it pulls oil mist out of the rockers on its own, its blown up and out by the blow by. an engine with a fair bit of blowby isnt ideal, but with a decent large catch can can be managed.
  9. Yours do. Because you dont/can't spend money to fix stuff. but you are right. You can tune a car without a dyno and by doing random stuff if that's what you are happy with. But most people understand that to play with cars costs money.
  10. Considering an rb25 auto bolts onto an rb30 with rb30 flex plate I can't see why it wouldn't go the other way. Don't worry about the starter position, that's determined by the bell housing so it's not like you can adjust it. An auto bellhousing will put the starter in the right spot for an auto flex plate.
  11. Oh ok. That's like calling a dyno a horsepower but words are weird! Where are you? Not in Aus?
  12. You get away with that with a map ecu, but it is better to block it rather than filter there
  13. 2 Man you are difficult to understand. I can't read your mind. How the hell were we to know you actually wired a volt meter into to knock sensor wiring? You still don't really get why that is completely mental. I know conversations with you degrade into you ranting then saying you already knew it and we are twisting your words and whatnot, but are you implying the pcv leaks so much under boost thay the Max flow of the hose to it is reached? Perhaps preface all your posts with the red neck car hacker bit so people can take what you say as that.
  14. That filter near the turbo is concerning. That would be allowing unmetered air into the engine, leaning it out. It really should be blocked.
  15. mlr is talking about the new catch can you bought.
  16. Post pics of how you have plumbed it all up. There's only a few people in the world who can guess what you did and they are busy at the moment.
  17. Pos pics I have a feeling you have no idea what you are doing
  18. Oh, you are right i did assume turbo application as most discussion is related to turbos on this forum.. if my PCV leaked under boost i would replace it. they aren't meant to leak, and i know for a fact if they are in good condition they don't leak under boost. i prefer to get rid of boost leaks, not accept them.
  19. That would mean the pcv want working properly, or you have plumber something up weird. No pics means you probably have done something weird
  20. What is the lambda? You mean o2 sensor?
  21. Slap, the pcv sucks nothing when the inlet manifold is under boost. It is a check valve, so not sure what you are on about with that wacky theory post above. No one does that. It is strange to suggest it.
  22. It depends how accurate the injector voltage offset data has been set up. The point of the offset is to account for this exact thing, so if things are all set correctly no need to retune.
  23. I look forward for the next post in a few years!
  24. You need something like hhttp://www.lewisengines.com.au/nissan-skyline-r33-catch-can/
