  1. Wow talk about a quick response. Someone I know told me to come to this website and ask he wasnt kidding when he said it was a good site. Ok so someone mentioned throttle lag when putting on a larger FMIC. What mods should I do to stop this? Does the power fc fix this because for the price $1200 is it even needed? Also the pod filter with cold air intake, ive heard installing a pod could cause the engine to suck in more hot air than cold. Im seriously going to do this cause i want the noise but any suggestions on the best cold air intake to get K&N,Blitz etc???Thanks for the advice so far its been great.
  2. hey all ive got a stock standard R33 nissan skyline series 2.I really want to do up my car but not crazy and I dont want to stuff my car up. I want some simple mods. Just a couple of questions. I want a Exhaust,FMIC and BOV. Can I add these items without the car running rich or the car ending up running like crap?? I know the car runs rich on the standard ecu. Do I need to have a dyno tune if I add these items? I had a GFB hybrid BOV had to take it off cause the car kept stalling. Is there a BOV I can use so the car doesnt stall or idle funny. Ive heard people modding there cars and the car having probs I dont want this prob thats why im asking you guys as you know so much more than me. If you guys have modding ideas tell me id love any imput.
  3. Hey all I had this posted in the wrong forum before so ive decided to post it here. Hey all ever since ive installed my blow off valve when i start the car and leave it to warm up I begin to hear this ticking sound coming from the engine. When i first start it nothing its fine but after a little while of just leaving it there the ticking sound begins. When i begin to drive the car the ticking goes away. Wierd?? Never happened before I had the Blow off valve fitted. When Installing the blow off valve also the guy had the idle adjusted the guy was using a screwdriver to tighten something in the engine bay. What could the reason for the ticking sound be??? Ive spoken to the mechanic he just goes it just because it takes time for oil to rise when the oil rises the noise stops. Also my idle is wierd also. Before i use to turn it on and go on 600. now everytime i turn the car on it goes to 1000 then drops slowly to 900 then to 600. Then basically it stays between 600-800. But when i first turn it on for the day it goes to like 1200 then takes a long time to get to 600. If i just get the stock B.O.V refitted and get idle adjusted would it all be good??

  5. Well for one the hicas light is on meaning its not functioning and two the auto electrician has raised the car on the hoist and the rear wheels were not turning when he was turning the steering wheel. Thats how i know its not working.
  6. dont tell me ive stumped people with this question?? im sure someone out there has some knowledge regarding this.
  7. Dog chewed electric cables at the rear for the four wheel steering. I have had the wiring fixed but the four wheel steering doesnt work anymore. What could have happened im taking the car back but i dont want the guy taking me for a ride and rorting me.
  8. yeh the idle goes up a bit when im moving the steering wheel but in all other occasions the idle stays the same.
  9. Hey all Why does my idle move when im turning my steering wheel from side to side?????? The car idles normally but when i start to move the steering wheel the idle starts to move. what the hell is going on??? One last thing. My dog today has ruined my weekend. I woke up today and my dog has eaten the wires under the car at the rear for the 4WS. I have taken it to the auto electrician they have wired it all up again BUT......... the 4WS doesnt work. F%#$ dog im going to kill him. Any ideas what the hell it could be. The auto electrician has now unplugged the 4WS and he is going to have a better look at what happening with the computer that operates the 4WS. pisses me off though cause i now have the flashing light HICAS contstantly on now. annoying really.
  10. Hey all i want to replace my standard speakers and replace them with aftermarket speakers. My question is what are the standard size speakers that R33 skylines have?? The front look like 4 or 6inch and the rear look like 6inches or maybe 6x4's.
  11. yeh the tension thing is on the top of the BOV. Does it need to be really tightly tensioned or does it need to be soft.
  12. Yeh it actually is a ticking type of sound. Does it have anything to do with the fitment of the Blow off valve. Another thing is it ok to play with the idle to make the BOV run ok? Thanks guys for your answers
  13. Hi their I have recently fitted a Hybrid Stealth fx BOV and It started to stall so in order for it to work a mechanic minded next door neighbour raised idle a little and played around with the BOV setting and now it seems to be idling ok hasnt stalled since is this ok?? When i turn on the car it idles alittle high then return to normal once car is warmed up. One other prob the car has this tapping sound coming from the engine. Its starts off once car is turned on but once car is warm it either goes away or is i hear a very light tapping is this the Hydraulic lifters?? If so can i do something to make it stop completely pour some kind of solution in the engine to clean it and does this have any connection with me connection a BOV???? Thanks for your guys answers im kinda worried.
  14. Sooooooooo with all these problems its like saying putting on a Blow off valve to your skyline is a bad risk. So what Blow of valve is the best for a skyline so it doesnt run rich and back fire and have ecu error messages. I was thinking of heading off this weekend and having either a GFB Hybrid or Turbosmart Dual Port Blow off valve fitted as they vent back into the engine and out to the atmosphere. Is one better than the other or do they both do the same thing and wont have any problems such as fluttering and the other probs mentioned above. I Just want a cool PSSSHT sound without f_ _king up my car. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
  15. Hey all ive heard that if a fluttering noise is heard from your blow off valve that it is actually a bad thing. Because as i know of the HKS super sequential has that fluttering noise and also ive heard the GFB Hybrid also has the fluttering noise at low rpms. Ive heard a couple of people say that if the blow off valve is fluttering it is not a good thing. What do you guys say??
  16. Hi there to all im a little confused i need help regarding blow off valve selection. I have a 96 series 2 skyline and im after a blow off valve to make some kind of impression when i drive. BUT..... i have been told that by placing a blow off valve i will encounter stalling problems and the ecu will go mental. Can a skyline like mine have a blow off valve fitted??? I was thinking GFB Hybrib BOV or the Turbosmart Dual Port BOV. What are you opinions on these Blow off valves. Thank you very much and your responses will be very appreciated.
