Thanks for your help deren, but after geting my hands on a service manual and running more tests, ive found that to the TPS i have 10.2v on (yellow wire *power) 3.2v was 2.59v on (red wire *signal) and 0v - normal on (blue/black *earth). Im going to test the loom tomorrow pin 38 on the ecu plug to see if the wire is faulty. Im reading in the manual that the voltage supply should be 5v. but i seem to be getting 10.2v. So after all that im assuimng that the facotry specs for r33 are supply to tps 5v,tps on idel 0.4v, WOT 4-5v. Will try more again tomorrow.

Hi Deren With the TPS pluged in and with it adjusted to 0.4 my VCT is on (Nissan Data Scan), it only clicks off if i adjust it back to 0.2. im sure VCT should not be on at this point. My TPS only has one set of wires connected..3 wires to be exact. and i checked the two in there and thats where im getting the voltage reading from. there are 2 plugs but yer only one has wires in it. (rb25det) s2 motor Does the TPS have 3wires that consist of 1 x positive, 1 x negitive and 1 x signal to the ECU? Something is going wrong for it to kick the vct on at idle. Thanks, Sc

So...quick question...what are the volts suposed to be that are going to the TPS? I have disonected the plug and have tested it to find the supply is 2.59v...i thought it should be 5v.. why ive tested it is that when i set the TPS to .04v my VCT is on...and thats on idle. it only kicks off if i adjust it back to 0.2. any ideas?? R33 gtst -95 STD ECU Chipped cheers, Scotty

So can this be done on and rb25det also?
-
Ok..Buy this man a beer TPS voltage was 0.2v instead or 0.4v @idle Idle Soleniod seems to be faulty (sprayed it with some freeze spray) and it seems to all work fine till it got warm again. time to replace me thinks... Thanks, Scotty

Looking at the Throttle measurment through data scan gives me 0.18 on idel..im assuming thats volts? Is this the correct value? should i test using a multi meter?

ok so quick update... cars timing is ok for the first few seconds after starting up..less than 10 sec's then yer..it just drops to 0 and bounces to 3 and back. Any ideas?

Hey all, I need some advice /assistance... I have been having an issue lately that when i plant my foot on the accelerator the car hesitates, it kind of thinks about going for a split second then takes off. i can ease the pedal down and the car goes fine. Its very intermittent, i have cleaned the AFM,New plugs gapped at 0.8,clean the aac valve, throttle body, Injectors serviced last week. I’m using data scan to check what’s going on but im getting strange readings.. Cars timing set to 15BTDC (tps, aac disconnected) checked this with timing light. The data scan reads zero timing...and if i hit base idle adjustment its then forced to 15degres and the car is revving at 1500+rpm and if i check the timing marks with the light they are 30degres+ Im thinking maybe a fault with the cas, fuel pump or fuel pressure.. Anyone got any ideas?? Car - R33gtst Fmic Full 3" Zorst Splifire coils Std Motor / Turbo 7lbs boost Chipped / non chipped STD ECU (tested on both) Thanks, Scott

fuel economy after the tune, it was close to the same..but the car has more power. about 400-450kms (daily driving) per tank of v power (car was tuned on that) a little less on caltex 98 less power too. Toshi said he could map for fuel economy or map for power...i went power.. Car is a 95 R33 GTST mods...3inch exaust, pod filter,FMIC. I increased the boost to from 7 to 10. other than that the cars engine and turbo is stock. no dyno yet, drifting i can feel there is a hugh improvment over STD i can hold a lot more speed sliding through corners, its kinda hard to explain but the power is there when i need it..you put your foot down and it goes.. There is more power all the way through the rev range and the car is very responsive, so daily driving is still fun too.

Toshi did a remap on mine... good bloke, and knows the cars well. spent nearly 6 hours doing the road tune to get it right...makes a noticable difference. Best thing with toshi is that if your not happy he will keep going until you are and keeps the car at a safe tune.. If you want to know anything else let me know.. Scotty YCOPY

Duncan, When i ordered the cage i told bond that the car was being setup to drift (competitevly) and this is what i was given. the cage is functional not for show...that would be just wankkie... Im downloading the cams manual now so i will have a read through it. Well..After having a read of section 6 - schedule j and re talking to bond it appears to be ok with cams..but im not 100% sure. is there somewhere i can take it to get checked? Sorry to hijack this thread..

Guys, Here is some pics of my 33...My favorite shot is the one with tho cop in the background....he was waiting for ages for me to do something silly. Its still a work in progress. Thanks, Scotty

Yep its now a legal 2 seater, Im in NSW, i have to Code of practice for car modifications some where here on my PC, Pm me your email address and i will send it over to you. Dirtgarage yes its botled to the inner arch, as the cage was made up by the boys at bond roll bars this is where i was told it was to bolt to, it does have a dirty big bit of steel as a plate under it as thats what the COP for car modification states. But i do understand your point about using the chasiss rail. They are removable rears so i can change that. I do agree the head clearance is a little tight in that pic but with the seat in its forward position (which is my driving position) it meets the clearance requirements just.... Cheers, Scotty
