Had to revive an old thread Yesterday on the way home, turning right pulling out into a 90 zone the car infront of me stopped for no reason in the middle. I had to almost run up his ass to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic. Then he proceeded to go 70 in a 90 zone. I ofcourse overtook him and he flashed his high beams and started waving his hands and stuff. The amount of times people have done this i wasnt going to let this one slide so I followed the guy. He knew I was following him so he kept going around in circles. I wasnt going to fight him just wanted to see what his problem was. I eventually got next to him and said "Why did u flash your highbeams at me?" He said it was because i was sitting too close to him when he pulled out of that street. So I told him that If he had pulled out into traffic without almost stopping i wouldnt have had avoid an accident. I then told him i overtook because it was a 90 zone, he was doing 70 and I am allowed to overtake him. The problem is back in Sydney I would run into a dickhead like this once every month or so... here in Perth they make up 90% of the drivers. Not being considerate of people behind them, hogging the right hand lane and just generally driving like a grandma. Its part of the reason why im moving to brisbane soon. I cannot put up with it any longer!

If this is really your opinion then stop having a cry saying "SAU does not drive illegally, etc. If someone wants to drive like an idiot and get hassled by police let them. SAU has no right to tell people how to drive unless they have a SAU sticker and are a SAU member. Then it reflects on the club. pffft give skylines a bad name with the cops? Does anyone even need to do anything to get this? If you buy a car like a jap import you're basically telling cops to pick on you. Regardless of how you drive you will always get picked on so get use to it. Do fishies all you want coz the truth is even if you do not do them you will still be pulled over. So have some fun. If you dont want cops to pick on you sell your skyline. Simple! Or buy a R31 4 door and turn it into a sleeper.

Man ive seen grown men in their company exec commodore lose control and get a bit sideways. Give the dewd a break. Tells you all the restrictions as far as cameras after limit changes, at the bottom of hills, how the radar has to be alligned, etc. I especially like the theory of going to view your photograph and if there is any other car in the pic (as would be the case on the freeway, etc) then they cannot fine you! Also I have heard that if you get booked by an actual human police officer they have to be wearing their hat when they walk up to the car (otherwise you cannot be booked). Another one I heard was if you are speed checked (cop travels behind you and uses his speedometer to determine your speed) then they have to produce a tyre guage and all their tyres must measure exaclty 37psi otherwise they cannot book you. And last one is that if the have a hand held unit they must take two read outs, 3 seconds apart. They have to show you both readouts if you request this. And you can only be booked for the lesser speed. My Father has used this in Sydney and it downgraded him from a 15-30km to a 0-15km fine.

They leave alot of grey areas in the rule books so they can make them up as they go. I am originally from Sydney so I think rules are a little different. In NSW the largest rim size u could use was 1 inch wider and taller than the largest spec on your tyre plackard. My R33 had a tyre plackard for 18 x 9 so in theory I couldve went 19 x 10. Lowering was 100mm and they had a thing they rolled under your car to test this. I know this because I got a defect with my E30 BMW 325is that was 40mm off the ground hehe. Airbags in NSW are legal so long as they do not lower the vehicle more than the 100mm rule. My mate has a hilux bagged and they atually made him deflate the bags all the way that even with 20's make his car sit on the ground. Let see them put the roller under that! Tint rules only apply to the front two windows in NSW and i asume here aswell. So long as you have both side mirrors functional. Because if you had a ute they only have two side windows and if you have a load in the back then you cant use the rear mirror. Try using this on a cop if they pull you up.

Take it from someone who knows... At 18 i started spending money on cars. After 8 years, 9 cars (2 of which were show standard) and an estimated 70K down the drain, I finally grew up. Sold my last car - a R33 to pay off debt so I could get a house. 12 Months later at age 27 I drive a friggin charade and have got close to 100K in equity. I could sell my house and buy a 34 GTR. Of course which brings me to the next point. You cant live in a GTR. As you get older you start thinking more responsible. So the moral of the story is be smart with your money and ull be able to afford a car people only dream of. But by the time you can afford it you probably wont want it. Or be young and have a great car thatll send u broke. Hope that helps but itll probly confuse the shit out of you.

That is just because the people who buy them like to bully other cars on the road. Like all 4WD owners. Its just like a skyline ad saying "get in, go sideways really fast and pick up lots of chicks". Or a charade ad saying "get in, thrash the crap out of it and dont wash it" - I'd buy a car with that slogan

I can help with the insurance bit of your question. I use to work for an insurance company under 12 mths ago. As fas as insurance goes any import that has 2 doors OR a high pressure turbo is a grade 9. This is the highest grade and the only thing seperating you from paying the same premium as a porsche driver is the purchase price. If you were to get a 4 door non turbo skyline (which lets face it u might aswell buy a camry) then itll be a grade 5. This is the same as something like a new beetle. This is how the company i worked for operated. Other comanies may vary but i doubt it. Just before you buy get quotes for both.

Nah it goes hard man. 1.3L NA whips a 2.5L turbo line. hahaha. I fit in it alright and stuff - pretty roomy. I think perhaps if someone looks at it side on from the drivers side they may think i lowered it a bit. But hey its just a shitbox to get me to work. Getting a new model maxima in the next 6 months. I know people here hate them and im not too fond on the FWD thing and the foot operated handbrake. But i love the shape and it feels like driving a bentley (not that ive driven one). And the sad thing is most 4WD owners think they need a bullbar also for the urban jungle. The bumper does enough damage. But lets strap a steel bad to the chassis aswell. Friggin idiots.

its really funny coz one time i had a guy yell insults then he thought i was following him but i was really just going the same way and he started getting scared. I think people are too quick to yell insults before they take a look at who's driving. I am almost 100kg with a shaved head so lets just say i aint ur average hairdresser chick driving a charade.

Pulling out of Ellenbrook on pinaster turning right onto gnangarra, the road is kinda wide but its only one lane. This morning was in the middle of the "ONE" lane and a CRV tried to pass me on the right. When they realised i was turning right they had to slam on their brakes but the front of their car was already up to my door. Then they immediately started blaming me for their stupidity. Like the countless times I've almost pulled out infront of someone turning right at a round a bout with no indicater, somehow thats my fault too? Just another example of 4WD soccer mums who use their car as a way of bullying people. Next time someone blames me for their stupidity/flashes their high beams at me because i overtake them when they are going 20 under the limit/be a general dickhead driver im going to come to a hault in the middle of the road, hop out and confront them.

on a lighter note - Dsturbd you should be happy. Was watching 5th Gear a few nights ago and they rated the xtrail the best 4WD under 20 grand (UK so not under 20k AU.) Apparently they reckon its a bit of a demon off road. Chopped the Rav4 which came 2nd. At least the Xtrail actually has off road skills not like the majority of urban 4WD's.

Stupid 4WD going 10 under the limit today and it was difficult to overtake. Dickhead was one of those centre of the road huggers. Altho the lane is heaps wide they sit as close to the dividing lines as possible. Almost impossible to see past a stupid driver who does that when they drive a pajero!

Josh u may have to tow it to track day. Ull need a 4wd to do that hahaha
