  1. the bonnet would look great on the 33, even though it won't stand out a crapload on the gunmetal. the GT wing i'm not too sure, i've seen 33GTS-Ts with straight flat design GT wings and they look great, however i think that curvy one u posted might not work well with the already curvy rounded design of the 33. however, it's what you think, and would go great with the bonnet
  2. i'm in the same boat richard, getting properly into cars now and have been doing eveything myself. not oh so technical, but if you need an extra set of hands for lifting or anything like that, i'm more than up for it.
  3. just go to repco or something like that and ask for a new bolt, tell em what car and they should be able to supply them. it's not a hard task. you need to take off the wheel, caliper then rotor, bang the shit out of the bolt so it comes out, and put the new one in. before putting everything else back on, put the nut onto the bolt and tighten it against the hub - this pulls the bolt all the way thru, preventing it becoming loose later on.
  4. andrew, how do your wheels go in terms of legal size? i'm trying to find out whether i can put my white wheels on the MR2 legally. from what i have found from other forums, i can go 1" extra in track width, and the circumference (or rolling diameter?) musn't be more than 15mm. anybody know what the exact law is>
  5. and miss out on the OC ewen? blasphemous! won't be able to make it tonight as i have work, but will ask for next tuesday off, and will try to remember how to use those "VCR" things to record TV next tuesday
  6. Miscellaneous Road Rules. Part 18, Division 1, Rule 291 Making unnecessary noise or smoke A person must not start a vehicle, or drive a vehicle, in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke. Offence privision. Example Causing the wheels of the driver's vehicle to lose traction and spin on the road surface may make unnecessary noise or smoke couldn't find anything on entrapment or excessive acceleration, but i'm sure it's there.
  7. i remember there being a discussion on one of the national car forums i visit a while ago in regards to entrapment laws, i remember (unclearly) that there was some difference between NSW and ACT laws in regards to this. Would be an interesting thing to find out for sure..... if a random person drives next to you and eggs you on and you race them off the lights - that's illegal (speeding up to the limit too quickly/breaking traction - which i'm pretty sure are two canberra road laws). it's no different if an undercover eggs you on, and you race him....
  8. this time - there shall be a communal BBQ in which all of the SAU brethren can enjoy!
  9. spotted red R31 with elitemotorsports sticker on athlon drive today some time after lunch
  10. Bendix aren't overly expensive, but are great pads, they sell them at autopro and those sort of stores. I've also heard great things about EBC pads...www.autospeed.com stock a few brands of brake pads

  15. awesome buy sig!
  16. the 33gts-t is still faster than a busted 32gtr...sorry richard, had to say it i was down at lennox gardens this evening, near the lake where katie bender got killed. was there from 5:30-7:30, and it's absolutely beautiful with the sun setting in the west, so that's an idea
  17. nice pictures guys, some changes since the last time i was on a cruise. skygtrline's wheel look rocking, and supafly's car looks great too witht he buddy clubs, too bad the bastard is selling! and the biggest change (and greatest)...erica's forrester, that thing is looking unbelievably awesome!
  18. you can't wait to drive this? who says you're even touching it i'm tossing up between YAW11M or YAW11Y plates. ones ending in S were taken, any suggestions?
  19. This car i'll be keeping until i finish uni and get into a full time job (two years atleast) Car and engine are only at 115k kms, so nothing too huge. I'll have to go over the Dickson pits for rego, but it should be fine, has already been engineered for side intrusion bars and all that stuff. Mods? Pod filter relocation first off, then exhaust and headers (no loud cannon this time :S), HKS/Cusco overdrive pulley kit, bigger TMIC. There's a red AW11 MR2 in Sydney owned by a guy who works at UAS...ran a 10sec 1/4 a couple of years ago, he had 270rwkw or somethinig like that - i don't aim that high, but it won't be too hard or costly getting some good times. Got some plans for her, the white wheels from my seca are going on too, same fit - cheering! Money was paid today, forms will arrive friday, car to be freighted on monday, and arrives at my door wedsnesday, can't wait!
  20. a fair amount
  21. well, offloading the seca, i was going to do an engine transplant soon, but another car came up, so i pounced on it and bought it not a skyline but... details as follow 1986 AW11 MR2 Supercharged E51 Gearbox with LSD Lowered 1" all round on KYB Shocks Targa Roof I take delivery of it next wednesday. went down to the shopfront to order some YAW11S black slimline plates, but they were taken so i'm thinking YAW11M instead.
  22. saw jon about...an hour or so ago in fyshwick outside hungry jacks, i was the one staring from the silver avalon love the plates
  23. car from what i've heard from the owner and from the pictures i've seen, is very driveable and in excellent condition for its age. but i don't particularly want to drive it all the way from coffs just after buying. the seller said he found some cheaper quotes on freighting. and that carways for $440 looks good. just see what i can do with my current car, and if all goes well, will be having some fun by friday next week
  24. car movers and TNT quoted me $620 (inc that basic insurance they offer) carways quoted $440, so i'll have to ring them back, not sure if it's the same service, or how it works for the price to be so cheap.
  25. g'day guys, wanted to post to see if anybody has had experience, or knows anybody trustworthy who can truck a car down to canberra from coffs harbour? also, how much does this usually cost? time? i know andrew (V33) had some bad experience before, but that was just in the ACT. any help would be greatly appreciated andy
