  8. Hi I am chasing an RB20DET engine locally in Perth *MINUS* the following items: - ECU and wiring loom Turbo (i would appreciate it if the oil and water lines were left in place) Alternator Gearbox Clutch and flywheel (unless something decent is on there) AFM Intercooler and all piping up to the plenum - So as you can see i am after a bare engine, the engine must be in great condition with less than 100,000km's (exceptions made if the engine is in exceptional condition). Compression must be good all round and engine ready to go with no problems. Nothing older than 1990 please. Happy to pay the right price for the right engine. Hope someone can help me out. Cheers guys gtst89@westnet.com.au

  14. How does a timing light actually work? I have one but have never used it..
  15. How do i tell when my piston #1 which is at TDC is accurately on the firing stroke? I have heard that removing a spark plug and sticking your finger in it until the air starts pushing can give you a good indication of how close you are?
  16. haha ok man, cheers
  17. What i mean is do i need to use a gasket and glue combined? I already have exhaust gaskets supplied with it.
  18. What i mean is can i use a gasket and glue combined?
  19. Age isn't really the issue with buying a car, maturity and common sense is the issue. Judging by your above posts you seem to have thought it out well, and are quite aware of your capabilities as a driver so that in my books would deem you mature enough. They say life is short, and that's no lie. In my opinion, i would probably go the S15 over the R34 GTT as it has that little bit more class and sexyness (many will disagree with me). But then again, there are allot of other cheaper cars that would take my fancy quite considerably eg, R32 GTS-T/GTR, (im not really a fan of the whales haha) or a nice S14a 200sx. Have a think about it, drive a few of them read lots and either way you'll enjoy it... YOUR BUYING A NISSAN!!
  20. No worries i'll go grab some, thanks mate.
  21. Just a question. When you remove a camshaft does this mean that all valves (that were previously open due to the lobes pressure) close up automatically upon removal of the camshaft? Also which way do the cam pulleys spin by default? So if i wanted to advance or retard the timing...
  22. When installing a new cat back exhaust system, is it necessary to use some sort of gasket glue? Or is using just a gasket fine?
  23. RB20DET for sale as complete with turbo $500 (no ecu or wiring loom). Needs timing belt reinstalled and cams/valves/crank synchonised with each other. Possibly willing to break up into parts. Engine has 119,000km's. The following will NOT be included: AFM Gearbox Radiator and fan ECU & Loom Engine mounts - Email gtst89@westnet.com.au
